honeyleaf smiled sweetly, "of course!" honeyleaf thought it would be nice to do a little bit of teaching, "here look at my crouch." honeyleaf got into a neat crouch with her ears perked, belly off the forest floor, and her tail raised slightly, so she wouldn't disturb the leaves. honey leaf got up with a bright smile, "alright, now you try." she purred. @Bumblebelly

Dogpaw watched closely, trying to take in each inch of detail she was spared. The apprentice carefully lowered herself to the ground, ears perked forward to the sound around her as her long tail lifted off the floor. She kept her paws spaced out evenly and her stomach was easily held up. "Is-is this good?"

honeyleaf gasped with excitement"thats really good!", she praised. she pointed with her tail to a bush, "go slowly and sniff around for a mouse.." she ordered and watched the apprentice. @Bumblebelly

Falconkit was very glad to be out of that smelly hole filled with strange noises. As she scrambled out with Echokit’s help she looked back into the hole, where two orange eyes glared at her. Falconkit shrieked as she saw the large, strange creature emerge from the hole. She stared at it and froze up, terrified by its snarling mouth filled with sharp fangs. She kept running until she reached a small pine. Falconkit leaped into the tree and onto a small branch. She looked down and saw the scary thing try to scramble after her. Where was Echokit?
“Help!” Falconkit screamed with all her might.
Then she remembered something she had heard in a story. A brave warrior had taken down a badger with only his claws! This was her chance to show Icestar her bravery! So she breathed in, then launched herself at the creatures head. She clawed at the creature with her small needle-like claws hitting its ear.

This made the creature very angry. With one swoop of its paws it swung Falconkit away. Falconkit barely registered a crack heard from one of her paws before she fell unconscious.

The smell is strong here! Shadequill thought to himself as he crept towards the smell.

The noise was close, and when he investigated he saw two small kits and a large fox towering over them. He ran and aimed a claw strike at the fox, yowling, "Leave those kits alone!" as he ran towards the fox.

"Would you like to keep hunting or would you rather be done for today? I really don't want you getting sore claws and not being able to walk tomorrow." She spoke softly, full of motherly concern. Which brough a little bit of surprise to her. She hadn't ever really thought about caring for her own little ones since her dream in the darkforest when her sister had mentioned being with kits.

That wasn't a very perservering attitude, but the apprentice was also not her own. So, she let it slide. With a shrug she turned to go off her own way on a solo hunt for some birds.

"I'm going to continue this way, meet back when you have a catch or two." She said before turning away and opening her mouth to taste the forest scents.

They gave a nod, before turning off to scent for prey before picking up the scent of a vole and beginning to stalk it slowly and carefully before pouncing and killing it quickly.

Dogpaw couldn't stop the large grin that stretched across her snout. She had to stop herself from squirming like a kit. Dogpaw cleared her throat, ears perking forward until she paused in her tracks. "What... does a mouse smell like?" She asked, quirking her head back to look at Honeyleaf.

honeyleaf laughed softly as she tried to get a good description on how a mouse smells, "umm...kinda...like hay or sweet grass." she nodded at her words, thats pretty much their scent..., "sniff the air let the smells wash over you...let the sounds drown out your thoughts....let you paws feel the way." honeyleaf instructed the apprentice. @Bumblebelly

She listened closely to the words of the warrior and then focused in on the sounds around her. She resumed the crouching position, her eyes diluted to absorb more of the forest light as her paws lightly stepped across the ground, approaching the stump of the tree. She sniffed the air, smelling what could only be described as mousey. Pounce! Dogpaw attacked. She pulled back hesitantly, frowning as nothing was under her paws. "Damn it!'
