Re: the herbal side of battle [ open to apprentices and up ]
Toadpaw listened, noting that dock was good for wounds and making sure to remember it's scent.
She felt the dock and noted that that was a good way to tell if it was dock. @ SeonghwasBunnyEars @ Sklee

Re: the herbal side of battle [ open to apprentices and up ]
minkpaw listened intently for anything she was unfamiliar with, having left her own group a while ago. they had seemed rather disengaged and she was set on learning more during this event, so she had excused herself and spent the past few minutes circling the cats, listening in on whatever she thought was interesting and moving along when something she knew came up. she had now finally settled along the sidelines, a few tail lengths from where the groups had formed though close enough to realistically hear what was being discussed. it was quite sad her own group hadnt really discussed anything but she had listened in on something about dock, which she had found to be very interesting, and passed a different group after part of the explanation had already been made, though she found it wasnt too interesting after all. striped tail lightly tapping the ground she eyed cobwebpaw while mentally going over what she had just been 'taught'.

Hawksun gave a small nod. "Ok. So next up I'll show you two herbs as there basics. I learned about these from my many years of being in River clan and the battles and skirmishes I've been in." He handed them each a stick with a small glob of Wrapped Cobweb. "This one should be simple. It's Cobweb. Found under any bush and on any tree if you look hard enough." Hawksun meowed. "It's great for sticking poultices on wounds or a cat in general." Hawksun watched them carefully. "It doesn't stick to your fur and clump up. But it sticks well enough to hold something on for a decent amount of time. You can also use cobwebs to stop bleeding in wounds or patch them up until a medicine cat or experienced warrior can properly handle your wounds."
Hawksun looked at his next item. "I don't know as much about this but I figured to tell you what it's been used for on me." Hawksun mewed, pulling out Daisy leaves. "These are Daisy leaves. You don't eat them, but you chew them into a poultice. I had them rubbed gently along my back when I had back pain for a while. It really does help.... So I'm just assuming it's for helping aches. But I learned the hard way, do not swallow a lot. IF you do by mistake immediately drink water to flush it out. IF you don't you have a really bad stomach ache for a few days."
Hawksun let the information sink in for a little bit. "Any questions? If not then I'll move on to the final and most important item"

Amberwing padded at the cobwebs, which she was at least familiar with. The daisy, on the other hand, was fascinating. Them helping with back pain in particular, although she obviously noted to not eat them. She made sure she recognized the daisy leaves, before turning back to Hawksun.

Somewhere. Something. Had brought me here. But what?

If you don't want to sit there holding your paws on them for a while, just tie the cobwebs tightly around the wound if you can. If it's a wound on their side or something, you'll need to use your paws."
Curling his tail around his paws, he continued, "Once the bleeding has stopped, you should remove the cobwebs- carefully. Don't rip them off, or the bleeding will start again. Chew up some marigold into a pulp and apply it on the wound; it helps prevent infection. Bigger wound means more marigold pulp, but you don't need to go crazy."

Fallenwish nodded. She knew how Cobwebs worked, but she wasn't sure how much pressure was necessary.

So Seabreeze was asking questions. Good. "No no, its okay dearie, those are all wonderful questions!" she purred to the younger cat. "I will do my best with my limited knowledge, but Honey can be mixed with other herbs for aches, but with coughing I think you give them just the honey. Again, due to my limited knowledge, I am not sure. For poisons, it can be used to extract some, like bee stings. Now, If there are no more questions, I will move on." Spottedstream paused to to think about which herb she wanted to do next. "The next one is Thyme. It has small green leaves, which tend to grow in clusters on a woody stem. Breathing it in or chewing on it can help calm cats and ease shock. It is a very basic herbs, and I am not aware of any other uses of thyme outside of that one," she said, explaining the herb from what she had of her memory. "Any questions?"

Mosspelt trotted up, wanting something to do after spending days in the nursery.
