Upon hearing her mother's call, Lostspark found that she didn't have to move much from her spot. She had already been sitting in the clearing, waiting for Dawnstar's return - and here she was. Directing her gaze to the large scarred molly, Lostspark turned her attention briefly to the cats re-entering camp, looking for her first apprentice. Or, well, Mossfreckle was just as learned as she was in terms of herbs, so calling him her apprentice still was a stretch.
Once she had located him and made sure he was safe and well - and surprisingly not alone, Lostspark turned her attention to the two apprentices at his side. She smiled faintly at Sleepypaw and Birdpaw, and then returned her eyes to her adoptive mother.
Mouth pulling down in a frown at the amount of injuries on her mother, Lostspark became slightly unhappy that Dawnstar hadn't gotten them looked at, even if they were considered minor. The last thing she wanted was for Dawnstar to get an infection. Coming to attention as kits were called up for their apprentice ceremonies, the Medicine Cat's gaze flitted between the gathered cats, searching for a certain blonde bengal.
And... oh! He'd popped up right beside her. A light, involuntary mrrow leaving her at Bleedingkit's palpable excitement, Lostspark smiled fondly down at her adopted son, oblivious to the whims of his thought process. "Hey, kitto. Oh yeah, you'll be an apprentice soon." She grinned, and then made a mental note to threaten whoever his mentor was to properly train him.
Lostspark noted that he wasn't exactly cuddling up to her like always, but... she supposed she'd brought that one on herself. Regardless, Lostspark could not resist attempting to pull Bleedingkit into her grasp to quickly groom his fur. He was going to be an apprentice, after all. Mirepaw showed up not too long after, and Lostspark glanced towards her daughter, offering an oddly hesitant smile in response to her greeting before attempting to wrap her tail around the younger molly.
Midnightpaw arrived quietly, settling herself between some of her clanmates. As she sat herself down, tail curled over her paws, she took in Dawnstars clear frustration.
She wondered why more warriors hadn't gone–perhaps she'd have gone herself, but she just wasn't too happy with her battle skills quite yet. Not enough to bring herself out into a battlefield. Like Dawnstar says, Shadowclan is only as strong as it's weakest link, and she was not about to drag everyone else down with her just because she wasn't confident in her own skills.
Confidence as a whole was something she had to work on, and she knew that. Hazelstripe had told her that much. With a long exhale, her eyes shifted to the kittens that were gathering for their ceremonies.

This was something he didn't miss. Didn't miss the chaos of clan meetings. The endless list of kits becoming apprentices, the scolding for misbehaving clan members... With a snort, he takes a seat beside Midpaw, thwapping her on the shoulder with his tail.
"Things haven't much changed it seems."
Hopefully she didn't mind his presence. It was difficult to get reacquainted with clan life and having one tether to the world was helpful. So he was going to cling to it desperately and hope she wouldn't let him drown.

minkpaw padded over to the apprentice, a small tortoiseshell one, that she couldnt help but judge to be younger than herself. she didnt seem particularly happy about anything going on and minkpaw couldnt judge her for it, she herself wasnt very worried about being punished for doing nothing but the prospect of punishment being something scary? she could definitely get behind. "hi" she muttered, keeping her voice low enough to not disturb the gathering and give the other apprentice the opportunity to back away if they didnt want to speak to her. in all honestly minkpaw couldnt even answer why she had chosen to approach another apprentice after nothing but sharp stares and whispers following her every move. and riverclan scent must still cling to her..

With her eyes turned towards the Shadowledge, she'd taken a notice (with a small sprinkle of fright) to Dawnstar's scars. 'How'd she get that one? That one looks wicked! She thought pensively, 'She's gotta be as old a the forest itself, or older! Will i also get intimidating scar-'"EEP!" She yelped, jumping with a startle as a quiet voice whispered to her. She inwardly swiped at her face for turning red over such a little thing. ShadowClan were meant to be the ones spooking, not getting spooked and embarrassed! She straightened up her profile so she'd look big and tall and scary which she was very good at 100% no doubt about it. Wait- this wasn't anyone coming to murder her as her brain had portrayed. That was Minkpaw, she was pretty sure. She cleared her throat, which sounded more like a squeak. "H-Hi," She murmured in response. Was it bizarre that she wasn't going all i'm-very-big-n-intimidating with her voice? Did the 'We gotta be all petrifying to everyone who isn't us' rule apply to Apprentices? Was it even a rule in the first place? "Uhm, d-do y-you think that, er, like, uhm..." She mewed, "Uhm, h-hows your training g-going?" She was only now noticing how large Minkpaw was, she looked to be around the age of a warrior. Was she late on ranking up because she had a faint RiverClan scent about her? Was Willowpaw being rude? She didn't mean to be rude or mean or anything! What if Minkpaw thought she was rude??

surprising a shadowclan cat was definitely not what she had expected, not only because she had heard about their particular skills, but also because even though she herself couldnt smell it, it seemed like the scent of riverclan always announced her presence before she actually got there...perhaps she was already losing some of the identifying scent..it had been a while since she got her, and since she had no chance to leave and somehow refresh, however that would work, it it was probably already less than before. she did miss the strong herbal scent that used to cling to her but had now faded to a less significant amount and would eventually fade entirely. minkpaw sighed inwardly, thoughts briefly wandering to the live she couldve had and she obviously didnt..but she was fine. fine. this was fine. but truly. it was. it was starting to be at least.
she supressed the urge to shake the thoughts from her head, where had she been? oh, the apprentice she had just surprised, they seemed to straighten up a bit, silly, minkpaw wouldnt say she towered the apprentice, but her being older and generally a bit too tall for her own good was definitely noticeable. "havent really started yet" she replies without a second thought, the normal response enough to make her forget how weird it must sound to just state that at her big ass age. "uh lostspark hasnt done my second evaluation n stuff yet so im still waitin'" minkpaw shrugged. she was also confined to camp for 24 more days but that was besides the point.
Time was ticking and she was tired of waiting. She saw Fogkit and Silkkit show up, but no Bleedingkit or Honeykit. Whether they were there or not didn't matter, it was if they could follow simple directions. If you weren't at the base of the Shadowledge after being called up, you don't get a ceremony that was that. So she was going to carry on with the ceremony, the other brats would have to deal with an extra moon in the nursery.
"Fogkit and Silkkit, from this day on, until you receive your warrior names, you will be known as Fogpaw and Silkpaw. Honeybite, you will mentor Fogpaw. Shrewstep, you'll train Silkpaw." She ordered. Those two had no current apprentices and were of help with the minks. They both seemed like good choices.
"If you hear your name you're being reassigned. Apprentices, if you find your mentors slacking, you can ask for any warrior for extra training so I don't have to keep reassigning you."Dawnstar added, seeing as she was repeating some names this moon.
"Meadowpaw and Badgerstripe, Batpaw and Petalrot, Forestpaw and Flamegaze, Turtlepaw and Mistydawn, Cinderpaw and Basilwisp, Silentpaw and Sootspirit. Grousepaw and Squirrelwhisker" Dawnstar finished and scanned the crowd for the newbies.
"If you haven't noticed we've acquired some new clanmates. Dogpaw and Honeyoak are former outsiders who will be training as apprentices. Dogpaw will be mentored by Bloomingblaze and Honeyoak by Rottenheart." The she-cat sought out the tall black tom.
"Honeyoak doesn't need to go through all of the training, make sure she knows how to fight and hunt and knows our territory. Everything else she can learn on her own." She informed Rottenheart and then glanced around until she found Minkpaw.
"The one that reeks of fish is a former RiverClan apprentice, Minkpaw. Lostspark's taken responsibility for her as her mentor." She told the clan without taking her eyes off Minkpaw.
"Minkpaw, you said you wanted a new name. So from now on you'll be known as Rookpaw, an apprentice of ShadowClan." Dawnstar intense glare screamed distrust, but if Rookpaw messed up it was on Lostspark's head. She turned her glare away to watch over her clan's reactions. #shcmeeting

Shadowclan Kit | He/Him | 4 Moons | Just a Scratch
Whoop! He got Mama caught!
Bleedingkit let out a squeak as he was snagged and groomed, held firmly in place as he wiggled around despite all attempts to remain still for him mother. Remaining still just wasnt something the wobbly kitten was capable of, but Lostspark knew that by now so was able to hold her kitten in place.
Which was needed, as he jolted hard on the approach of his sibling. Again he'd had no problem being all cuddly and close with his mother in private, wobbling his way into her den to share meals and join her for naps, but in public he was just too scared of the reactions to do so and for a moment he was scared Mirepaw had come over to snap at him. But she didnt, and so though he flinched away ready to withdraw from the medicine cat he quickly relaxed in her grip as Mirepaw spoke.
Right, Mirepaw was one of the nice ones, she wasnt gonna be mean. A hesitant grin formed on his muzzle, replying to her as he continued to let Lostspark groom him. "Im okay. It was scary but didnt hurt." Nevermind that it wouldve had Bleedingkit been anyone else and not a cat with pain receptors that just didnt work. "Not your fault. A nest sounds good but dont you share with scary- I mean Heronpaw?"
Bleedingkit didnt wanna go anywhere near Moonpaw and Heronpaw, they scared him.
The chat was cut short when Dawnstar called out, and Bleedingkit realized in being groomed he'd been distracted and dawdled, quickly moving to try and squirm out of Lostsparks grin squealing "No! Mama let go, I need to go be an apprentice! Miss Dawnstar Im here Im sorry! Mama off! No more grooming I need to go up!" Of course it was a little late, the leader was moving on it seemed but Bleedingkit had managed to squirm his way loose (face-planting brutally hard as he did) and wobbled up ears low, hoping it wasnt too late.
If he got so distracted by his mother and sibling that he didnt even make it up when called maybe he wasnt ready to be an apprentice after all, he'd gotten stuck by being held by his mother like a kit after all and shouldve broken loose earlier. He really wanted to be like the warriors though, join the other apprentices like- Oh he almost forgot! "Fogpaw! Silkpaw! Fogpaw! Silkpaw!"

Bloomingblaze perked up at the mention of being a mentor. It certainly surprised her, but she would train Dogpaw the best she possibly could. She looked around for her new apprentice, before spotting the young cat and trotting over "I'll teach ya all I know!" She said enthusiastically yet somewhat quietly as not to interrupt the leader.

He had been silently listening from the back until it was Fogkit's turn to become an apprentice. YEAA! THAT WAS HIS SON!! "FOGPAW! Silkpaw! FOGPAW! Silkpaw!" Slytiger cheered. And he definitely cheered for Fogpaw louder. And if anyone called him out, life wasn't fair and Silkpaw better learn that quick because FOGPAW WAS HIS SON AND THE BEST!!!!
