Holy goodness. Holy. Freaking. Goodness. Birdpaw grinned up at Dawnstar when she heard her name called, barely hearing her mentor assignment as she began violently vibrating where she sat.
When Heronpaw's name was called, Birdpaw turned to stared wide-eyed at her sister. She chirped happily, bouncing up and throwing herself on Heronpaw. "Heronpaw!!!!!!! We're both birds!!!" She cheered. She saw Mirepaw not too far off and bumbled into her sister as well, pulling her towards the forced hug pile. THIS WAS SO EXCITING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So...that was it...she'd become an apprentice in a matter of seconds...wow, this was more dull than she thought it'd be. Wait, what did she expect anyways? Some grand celebration? Nah, just some kind of acknowledgement would've satisfied her, yet she wasn't important so why should she get special treatment...wait then why did her other siblings? A name change, the same mentor, being personally mentored by Grandmother herself? Alright so mabye there were favourites but who cared? Not her...mabye. She didn't need anyone's praise, she'd make sure she was clearly defined from the rest of them by her own achievements, she swore it.
Shaking off her recent pledge, Quietpaw's cyan eyes drifted across the faces of her clanmates until she finally settled on a familiar face. Her father...he was here, huh? She wasn't sure he'd make an appearance...well if her wanted to be here she couldn't do anything about it and if she was telling the truth she was kinda happy to see him there, at least someone cared...even if the attention wasn't exclusively for her.
Staring at her father for a few seconds, the hint of a smile on her face for the first time ever, the lean she-cat weaved her way around the figures of her clan until she was in a more sparsely populated place, her expression set back to a cold neutral. She wouldn't go looking for her new mentor, in fact she was in no mood to socialise right this moment so bad luck for Hillstrider. Hopefully it wouldn't hurt there feelings too bad.
Well that was a lot of children! His own apprentice had been rather absent and perhaps demoted? Shrewstep wasn't exactly sure, to be honest. But whoo whee, with the number of kits Dawnstar had just called forwards, he might get someone to replace Bilepaw, now Bilekit. But, it seemed it was not to be. It made sense, even if he was a bit disappointed. He could always find some random apprentices to train he supposed, that would be fun. Probably. He didn't really know. Regardless of his opinions on his apprentice or lack thereof, he cheered Nice job apprentices! Good luck! because there was no WAY he was saying all of those names. He'd already forgotten half of them, with only Heronpaw really sticking in his mind due to the name change. He'd do a better job with the warriors ceremonies though, as there were only two of them. Shrewstep could certainly managed two names. (OPEN)

Each of her siblings were named before her. They were each given warriors that she'd heard of and seemed half-decent. Sleepypaw even got grandmother as a mentor! So lucky! Perhaps she was the family favorite?! It'd make sense, she was around the longest, right? Rainkit wasn't too sure and the more she thought about it, the more distracted she became.
The newly named apprentice sat proudly before her grandmother, beaming as she was given her new name and mentor. She hadn't heard of this warrior before! She couldn't wait to meet them! Perhaps they'd include her in more activities, perhaps they wouldn't allow her to feel so isolated and alone! High hopes this young apprentice had!
Rainpaw would turn to search for her new mentor, blinking a greeting towards them if she found them. She'd work her way towards Amberfern. "I'm Rainpaw! Nice to meet you!" She'd chirp, taking a seat besides her new mentor and watching as the ceremonies moved on.
Honestly, Hawkbite wasn't sure if he should feel surprised or not. Another apprentice? He wasn't a stranger to having two at once, but the more surprising aspect was it wasn't one of Darkfall's kits. He was almost positive Dawnstar would've been picky with choosing their mentors, specifically, so was he a bit hurt he wasn't one of theirs? A bit, yes.
Well, alright. It was fine. Everything was fine.
Hawkbite was about to turn to greet Brownpaw, but Bleedingkit stumbled right onto his paws and he glanced down with actual surprise. "You're making a habit of finding my paws there," he'd tease lightly, patting the young kitten on the head (again). His eyes looked upwards to search for Brownpaw once more, giving them a greeting with a slow blink and a small smile. He didn't wish to disrupt anything.
The Commander's interest would then be piqued by the warrior naming ceremonies. He'd done Yellowpaws assessment, but he'd trained the both of them in his classes. Pride would well in his chest and beam from his eyes as he watched. It wasn't as prideful for him as when Starrywisp was named, but he'd take his wins where he could.

Hillstrider grinned at Fogwatcher as the other warrior wondered about whether they would get apprentices. "Only one way to find out!" The cheerful warrior chirped. Low and behold, Hillstrider heard both his and Fogwatcher's names called, both mentoring one of Darkfall and Lostspark's kits! Hillstrider practically beamed, excitement rippling through his pelt. His first apprentice!!! He was so excited. He nudged Fogwatcher. "Dude!! This means maybe we can train 'em together, yeah?"
He saw Quietkit weave her way away from the Shadowledge, but not towards him. Hillstrider was a little confused, but maybe she just didn't know what he looked like. No biggie! Hillstrider waved his tail in goodbye to Fogwatcher and headed over to the lone apprentice. When he approached her, he gave her a big grin. "Yo there, little dude! I'm so stoked to train you! It's gonna be awesome."

Quietpaw
Shadowclan apprentice

Recoiling slightly as a large tom with an equally loud voice approched her, Quietpaw found herself grimancing as she realised that this was her mentor. Noisy, unformal and overly positive is what she got from her first impression of Hillstrider and she couldn't be more upset. The total opposite to her. Surely this was just some kind of joke, Grandmother couldn't possibly expect her to tolerate this fool...could she?
Glaring at her new mentor with undisguised disdain, the young apprentice wished right then and there she could just turn into a bird and fly away, never to be seen again. But alas, Starclan only gifted miracles to those who earned it. Shuffling away from Hillstrider, Quietpaw did her best to ignore him, though she knew she couldn't for long.

There's something almost reverent about the way Cinderkit looks to her leader, eyes shining with joy and anticipation, hardly able to stay still long enough to listen. Her grandmother removed the 'kit' suffix from her name, and Cinder can't help imagining burying that part of her in the dirt, along with her old limb, reminders of her failures and shortcomings, and, eyes filled with stars, she accepts the new suffix, 'paw', with pride, eyes slipping closed and face upturned to the sky.
'Thank you, StarClan,' she mummers in her mind, taking a deep breath for a count of five before she trusts herself to open her eyes again without crying. She gazes at her leader, a fierce 'thank you' in her eyes that she cannot force out in words. She is not useless. She will not be useless. She'll prove to all of them that she can be responsible, that she is not the cat that was so self confident that her hubris became her curse and injured her beyond any injury she'd ever even heard of before.
Her thoughts collected now, Cinderpaw look around, and amber eyes lock on her father, watching proudly. Cinderpaw wants to go over to him, to shove her face in his chest and cry with joy, but proper etiquette demands she greets her mentor first. She wants to join in with her siblings' excitement as well but... she'd never felt all that close to them outside of Wispypaw. Maybe they'd come together now that they're older? Cinderpaw wonders if that's what she wants. She thinks probably... but they're already friends with each other, would she not be intruding?
She shakes her head to clear the thoughts. There's no time to keep dwelling on these thoughts, gazing around the gathered cats, she begins searching for her mentor, Cornpuff.

Male, 48 Moons
SHADOWCLAN - Warrior
A yellow-eyed, white and cream-point tom.
Cornpuff was taken aback as he heard his name among the mentors. An apprentice, huh? Now that he no longer had any other business, an apprentice wasn't going to be any concern. He got to his brown paws. It seemed she still had some recovering of sorts to do also.
Cinderpaw, was the name he had heard. He looked at the kits lined up, and moved through the gathering toward a small, black tabby cat. Dawnstar had gestured to her while giving out the names, so he hoped he had it right. Once he was nearer, the way he caught her looking at the leader so affectionately was... well, it pinched a certain nerve. Twitching a side of his muzzle he purred, hoping to draw her attention, while he smoothed over the slight sneer before she turned to see him emerge from the crowd.
"Looks like you're gonna' be stuck w'me for a while soon, huh?" He joked, keeping a light tone.

She looked up as her name called along the apprentice she'd be mentoring. An apprentice? Already?? She sighed uneasily, Didnt think i would begiven an apprentice so soon.. I will make Shadowclan proud She briefly looked to the stars before Rainpaw drawed her attention. "Hello Rainpaw, lovely to meet you. I am Amberfern, hopefully I will be able to train you to be a great warrior." She booped the young cat's nose before returning her attention to the meeting.

Amber eyes level on a cat who approaches her... he seems calm enough, and perfectly kind, breaking any tension or ice with a joke. Cinderpaw blinks up at him, trying to return his words with some of her own, but they still won't come out, the familiar knot of them in her throat doesn't make her angry anymore, just a little sad. Some things used to let her say them, but ever since her injury, Cinderpaw hadn't been able to even say anything. The only reason she knows her vocal chords still work is because she can hum and grunt.
Instead of answering with words, the new apprentice turns her gaze up to her new mentor and nods, a soft "mhm," accompanying the action. She hopes that's enough of a response as she leans forward to accept the customary forehead touch all apprentices receive, repositioning herself afterward to be able to watch the warrior ceremonies, careful not to jostle the dressings on her stump.
Brownkit excitedly turned to her mentor, Hawkbite, smiling brightly. Or, Brownpaw now- like Dawnstar said, that'd be her new name until she became a warrior. However, the tom only gave her a small smile from his place in the crowd and turned away to look back at the kit he was talking to, Bleedingkit, and of course the leader too. ...Ah, well, that was okay! Maybe she'd get a chance to go say hi after the meeting, he probably was just too busy to talk. Hawkbite was a pretty important cat, right? One of Shadowclan's special enforcers... and he already had an apprentice, she was pretty sure. Hopefully mentoring Brownpaw wouldn't be too much work for him. If it was, she'd try her best to help out with whatever her mentor needed!
Brownpaw gazed back at Dawnstar as well, ready for Yellowpaw and Palepaw to become warriors. They probably both worked really hard for this. What would their names be? What would Brownpaw's name be? Oh, and after Dawnstar was done maybe she could go find the other new apprentices and they could celebrate together!
