With the clan gathered, Dawnstar began the ceremonies before she got into the more gritty issues.

While she waited for three to join her, she quickly worked out who'd be mentoring them and was working on reassignment. There was an incredible amount of apprentices in need of reassignments... just thinking about it was pissing her off. Why can't cats do their jobs?

She had a few new cats to introduce to the clan. Turtlepaw, Gracklepaw, and Smolderingpaw, She was sure they'd all adjust to the clan well enough. She didn't have exceedingly high hopes for any of them. If they could just make it to warriorhood she'd be happy. She was going to have to find and recruit more outsiders if her clanmates were going to continue to get themselves killed at an exceedingly high rate.

Poppykit slowly walked forward, increasingly nervous as she gazed at Dawnstar, having to hold herself up.

Ofcourse, still sitting near the edge of the camp was Silentraven next to Hootflicker, terrified at the thought of Dawnstar tearing her apart, tho she flicked an interested glance upon the kits, tho knew she wasn’t able to mentor because of Littlepaw.

How was it to be blind to the world, when you were born with eyes and sight? Lynxshade couldn't help but ask herself this question, and yet she couldn't bring herself to actually put a voice to it. Maybe, it would be cruel to Lostspark. Her own name was cruel, in her opinion.

At the medicine cat's question, she didn't flinch. But something in her head did. Of course, she knew that Thornpaw hadn't been seen in camp for some time. But how did she know? Surely, these things often happened and Lostspark must not have much interest in Thornpaw's disappearance?

"...He may have diverted in his journey, but Thornpaw will be back." She said nothing more, for she knew what she was saying was true. Or she did want to believe it more than anything else.

She had given him a chance of redemption, and she was so scared - almost terrified - that the apprentice had wasted it by fleeing and losing himself. Not explicitly, but in another sense.
She turned her gaze on Lostspark's, trying to read something into her eyes. But they seemed dull, empty of any focus.

Dawnstar looked down at both the kits as they stepped forward. Two more apprentices, she wished she had more but considering how full the nursery was getting with Lostspark's latest batch of hairballs, ShadowClan would have several apprentices in due time.

"Poppykit and Sharpkit, from this moment forth until you receive your warrior names, you'll be known as Poppypaw and Sharppaw. Poppypaw your mentor is Nightwolf. Sharppaw your mentor is Wrenflower." Dawnstar announced, glancing at the two warriors as she spoke their names. The clan was given a moment to congratulate the new apprentices and then it was time to move.

"Now reassignments" Dawnstar hissed out. "Featherpaw and Spottedwhisper. Sharpfrost and Brokenpaw. Rosecloud and Swanpaw. Silverlark and Flashpaw. Speckledwing and Spiderpaw. Racconwhisker and Cryingelk. Hawkbite and Eggpaw."

Eggpaw only had some much time as an apprentice. She hoped Hawkbite served as his final mentor and got the furball to warriorhood. If Eggpaw put in the effort she doubted the training would take long at all.

"We've got a few new faces to welcome Gracklepaw and Turtlepaw are former outsiders, and Smolderingpaw was a former RiverClanner. With some training, I believe they'll make fine warriors for ShadowClan. Gracklepaw will be training with Hickorysplinter. Turtlepaw is with Alderblossom. Smolderingpaw your mentor is Lynxshade." Between the three of them, Dawnstar had faith that three would at least be trained, how well only time could tell.

"Lostspark had also decided to take an apprentice of her own. ShadowClan's new medicine cat apprentice is Mossfreckle." Though she was delighted to have the rank filled, as it was always satisfying to have all her high ranks in place. Dawnstar wasn't sure what to make of Mossfreckle. A fitting warrior they were, she hoped they served the clan with the same devotion as a medicine cat.

Swanpaw immediately looked over towards Mossfreckle and nodded towards them. "You never told me your where picked!" he squeaked before rushing over to the warrior wait no Medic to give a big hug if they would allow them. "Im so proud of you my bestie was choosen!" he smiled. "You got to keep me on updates!"

Mossfreckle beamed in pride as his rank was announced to his clan, he bowed his head respectably to his leader as she spoke. He would do all he could he could to protect Shadowclan’s wellbeing, he hoped he would not let down Lostspark and Dawnstar - he hoped he would be able to do good for his clan.

Mossfreckle graciously accepted his friends affections, “I was asked not to speak of it until it was announced,” he purred, “Thank you for the congratulations, little Swan.”

Alderblossom got to her paws and stretched, her tail curling towards her back.

Standing up, the mottled tortoiseshell padded around, looking for her apprentice.

''Turtlepaw?'' She called.

The pretty molly soon spotted the tortoiseshell in the crowd. Alderblossom padded up to her.

''A tortoiseshell training a tortoiseshell, huh?'' She purred, laughter able to be heard in her voice.

The ShadowClan warrior whisked her tail. ''My name's Alderblossom, and I will be the cat training you in the ways of ShadowClan. I'm pleased to be your mentor.''

Alderblossom dipped her head and touched noses with Turtlepaw.

As Bluepaw heard that Mossfreckle had been selected as Lostspark's apprentice, her ears and tail drooped.

Getting to her paws, the blue-gray and white apprentice padded over to her mentor, Creekstep, and sat down beside him, blue eyes glistening sadly.

Bluepaw didn't say a word to Creekstep. She just sat there.

Swanpaw smiled at his friend. "Mossfreckle you will do amazing I am so proud of you!
" he smiled up at him. "You must teach me some things I wanna know what Starclan is like" he whispered towards Mossfreckle. "Wait does this mean we can't train together anymore?"
