The bewildered molly made her way into the den with her eyes low and her ears slightly back. She had witnessed death, of course, but not one so sudden happen to a seemingly healthy cat. She swallowed and lifted her gaze to look for help, opening her dry mouth to try and relay the news. It came out a little muddled.

"Echoheart, in the clearing, dead." Well, maybe not too muddled. It was clear enough. She seemed a bit out of sorts still, but she was regaining herself.

Drizzlecloud was alerted by the scent of distress, and the light filtering into the den shifted, signaling the arrival of someone who seemed to be frantic. The spotted tabby lifted her gaze to her visitor, offering them a quizzical look initially seeing as she could not catch the scent of any blood, sickness, nor could she see anything wrong… Perhaps something had happened. Of course, she couldn’t quite hear Mudblaze’s explanation due to her deafness, so she would have to investigate herself. “Here, sit down to catch your breath. I will be back in but a moment, alright? Please get comfortable.”

beetlewing nosed tentatively into the den, cheekfur clearly wet from freshly spilled tears. ' er... hello? ' gosh, was this really the first time she had been in this den since kithood?

The young she-cat staggered into the medicine den, attempting and failing to ignore the pain in her stomach. "Drizzlecloud (@Omari)? Springpaw (@vei)? My stomach hurts, but it's probably just a tough bit of prey that I ate..." she meowed. She flopped down on the mossy nest, sighing.

The frazzled she-cat did as she was told, taking a seat and takong some breaths to calm herself. She guessed she had never been good at dealing with death. At least not when actually faced by it. She tried to calm herself a little, starting to groom herself as she had before witnessing the death.

Drizzlecloud noted the arrival of their next visitor upon their scent in the air. She swiveled around, peering at their patient as she began to speak. “Sorry, darling. I can't hear you–recently lost all of my hearing. I can see that you have no physical injuries though, so I assume you are here feeling ill?”

The eldest healer stood from where she had been sat, approaching the warrior with an apologetic smile. “How about you lay down in one of these nests and point to where you're feeling unwell? It would help me in understanding greatly."

Laying down in one of the nests, she apologetically nodded to Drizzlecloud. At the medicine cat's request to point to where it hurt, she nodded her muzzle at her stomach. She felt bad for the medicine cat- how must it feel to have to treat patients when you couldn't hear what your patients telling you what was wrong? She tried to communicate these feelings by giving Drizzlecloud a sympathetic look, but she wasn't sure it worked.

(omg I'm so sorry that i didn't realize drizzle was fully deaf lol)

Mushroompaw smiled fondly at the medicine cat, taking in a deep breath and shaking out his paws. Springpaw(light) probably didn't know that much signing, so he'd have to improvise. He smiled again and then flattened his ears back as he got ready to act out the scene. Mushroompaw lightly stomped his paws on the ground to say 'walking'. He did this for a while, then crouched into a hunters crouch to show he was stalking around the forest. After a bit, he shuddered out a breath and stared at the base of the wall, his eyes widening like he was scared. He forced his breathing to become heavy and jagged, and then shot his head around quickly as to say he ran.

Mushroompae looked back to Springpaw(light) to make sure she understood what he was doing.

Nightshine hussled her kit, Whitekit, into the med den. "In you go, Whitekit. The med cats are very nice." she fully nussled him in, then called out to a med cat, "Drizzlecloud?" the remembered the cat was deaf. She gestured with her tail at Drizzlecloud, trying to get their attention. @Omari

Drizzlecloud hummed, offering the molly a reassuring smile at her expression. It was a bit of a learning curve to get used to, having no hearing whatsoever, but she was confident that she could manage. “Alright, a stomach ache.. I can get you something to soothe that, don’t you worry.”

There were just a few more things she wanted to ask about first, though. “I’m going to ask you some yes and no questions, okay? Just nod or shake your head for me. Did the pain start today? If not, did the pain begin yesterday? Have you had anything to eat recently? And if you did, did the pain start afterwards?”
