RiverClan Outsider Joining

Peace seemed slightly nervous and stayed close to Darcy.

An anxious but determined expression was planted firmly on Darcy’s face as she stared forward, Robin was ahead and Peace was side by side, the cream and gold queen was slow going as she padded uncertainly through the territory she had left her son’s in all that time ago. Would they forgive her? Would they even recognize her?

The three cats must’ve looked like quite the peculiar gang as Robin bounded ahead, calling the names of her littermates, and Peace stayed beside Darcy, almost as nervous as she was. Her swollen belly swayed to and fro uncomfortably as she tried to catch up with her older kit. ”Honey? Bright?” She called, voice hoarse with nerves and absolute excitement. 26 moons and she was about to see her sons.

She had cried the night before. Nervous. Overjoyed. Guilty. She had given up her sons but kept her daughter, in hopes that her two male kits would survive and that she would at least be able to provide for herself and one kit. But could that act of fear and maternal sacrifice have fractured the love Sun and Bright had for her? When she gave them up to attempt and save them did she also give up the chance for her to have a good relationship with them both?

But it didn’t matter. It couldn’t have mattered. If she hadn’t given them up then, they wouldn’t be around to possibly hate her now. And living kits who rejected her as their mother was better than dead kits who would have never had a chance at life. The molly ducked her head to nuzzle Peace. ”It’ll be okay darling. These are nice cats.” if they had taken in her sons, they must be nice. Right?

Peace smiles her mother. "What if Sparrow and Sun don't like me?" she sounded anxious.

Who the hell was bright and honey? And how did these outsiders know Sunpaw's name? "Who.. Who are you? And who are Honey and Bright?" Sparrowskip said as he approached the 3 outsiders. As he caught their scent his eyes widened. It was the same scent from the dream he had, and the name Bright was familiar.. wasn't it the name the cat was humming? Sparrowskip knew 2 of these cats but tried to deny it himself. "What are you doing on RiverClan territory?" He said with a slight snarl. Despite the fact he was also trying to copy how Kestrelstar would've done rejoinings, the thought that this might've been his original family scared.. and angered him. He looked to peace and hissed "How do you know our names?" The only way they could is if someone from the clans told them, and why would they care unless.. they knew him?

Robin scoffed, flicking their tail with amusement flickering in their eyes. "You're my brother, silly!" she reminded Bright, bounding forward to hug him. "Mom said you lived in this group called, uh, RiverClan??" She grinned, happy as she had never been before. "It's so exciting to meet you again! Ya know, Darcy couldn't care for you anymore because Jodi ran away. But now she can!!"

She stole a glance at their mother, wondering what she would say. Robin tried to meet Bright's gaze. "Why are you being so rude, brother! We just wanted to come back! I've missed you so, so much! You know who we are, except for Peace, right?? Darcy adopted Peace because she was weak and now she's in the family. And Darcy is your mom and I'm your sister!"

Her son. Her son. He was right there. Darcy suppressed a choke, and tried to stop her paws from trembling as Robin ran at him and attempted to embrace him. When he snarled, she hardly flinched, and stepped in front of peace as a precaution.

Robin explained it pretty well, but she felt the need to explain it, too. "I'm... I'm your mother, and this is your sibling Robin.... and I adopted this kit, Peace. I know... I... the name I gave you was Bright, and the name I gave your brother was Honey. Your father's name was Jodi, and he left. I knew I couldn't care for you alone, so.... so I took you and your brother here to this place.... I know this is difficult for you... but I love you and I've never stopped... and I'd like to bring our family back together. We're here to hopefully... join this group." Her voice trembled. It shook. But her son was right there. He was in front of her.

"Robin, honey.... give him some space. This might... this might be a lot for him to take in." She said, gesturing for her older kit to stand beside her.

It had been a long time since she had seen herself in Riverclan territory once again. The last time she had managed to go a little too far. She didn't get lost no. She knew this territory and the outskirts all too well. The memory of when that badger was in Riverclan territory. She used herself to get it out of the territory before it settled down. She then got stuck in a terrible wind storm and was never able to really come back after moons and moons of searching to get back. She had traveled a long distance. Got injured quite a few times in the past year and had to wait until she was 100% healed and ready to get back to the clan. She was covered in scars. A few were nasty and one on her face that went down her nose.

Flamebriar kept scenting the air until ahe found her home. She then sat down on the border. It was the right thing to do. She wouldn't just barge in. Plus a patrol or at least a cat would find her here.

❄ Snowleap (he/them) ❄

➢ The tall dark-furred tomcat sighed and walked through the usual main hunting ground of his clan, thinking about various things as he gently hummed to himself. He wasn’t usually one to linger out in this area, being by the river or out near Cattail Pond, but Snowleap had a certain knack for being in the right place at the right time -- or the exact opposite -- it honestly depended on the day for him. Eventually, Snowleap found himself near one of the borders, immediately taking note of another cat sitting there. Huh? They didn’t look like any cat they had seen before and they didn’t smell like any particular clan as the oriental longhair approached them with cautious, but non-threatening steps. “Um, can I help you?” He meowed, tilting his head to the side, wondering what this unknown feline desired. Snowleap did not recognize this feline, but they did not seem like a threat. Regardless, it was his job, among the other shields, to make sure Riverclan was protected.

Peace ducked behind Darcy for a moment, and then feeling brave, she stepped forward.
"Hello." she meowed. "I'm Peace. Darcy adopted me and my sister, Hope." her brave voice falters. "Hopey, didn't make it."

Ugh, this was exhausting. He’d been walking for how long now? Ridiculous, honestly, that some twolegs could even take him that far. Huffing and puffing as the ginger tom walked, he carelessly dragged his paws over the ground. He was tired, what else would he do? The tom wasn’t going fast, at all. Yes he wanted to get back to his clan, but he knew better than to unnecessarily hurry and basically run around like he had no head, unlike some who’d certainly be doing that right about now. He, instead of doing that, walked calmly. And it wasn’t like he needed to be particularly on edge either or anything, he knew this part of the outskirts – in fact, ever since he came on familiar ground, he’d been going about it more lethargically, also since he was tired and there didn’t seem to be any danger anyway. At this point, the warrior knew RiverClan was close. He knew ever since he reached the familiar part of the twoleg place that it shouldn’t take more than a day’s walk, unless he decided to take a break, but it seemed like he wouldn’t. For all his laziness, how utterly exhausted he was and just how much he wanted to plop down somewhere and sleep, Gingerfrost was on a steady trek to RiverClan and before he knew it (as a matter of speaking, he was very aware of it) the young warrior had finally stepped upon the ever so familiar territory once more.

He looked rather roughed up from his long trek, and his paws honestly just hurt. There was no other way to put it. But unfortunately he knew he’d have to go through the whole rejoining business – what a pain, honestly. If only it could be handled after he took a nap, if anything, but it was as it was and he supposed he’d prefer to be back in RiverClan rather sooner than later.
Huffing as he finally reached camp, glancing quickly across the busy clearing, Gingerfrost knew exactly where he’d likely find whoever he needed: the leader’s den. Yet there was always the risk of some mousebrain taking him for an outsider and trying to chase him if he wanted to head all the way over there. Yeah… No. He wasn’t even going to bother with that possibility, he’d simply head over to the nearest non-mousebrained looking cat instead and have them escort him to whoever is in charge now. He’d been gone for a while, and some things ought to have changed for RiverClan. Hopefully no one incompetent was declared leader since. Either way, he would find out soon enough as he spotted a seemingly… Not so mousebrained looking cat. Hopefully.

Walking over, the ginger tom half-muttered to get the other’s attention. As much as he wanted to plop down right then and there, he perhaps better not do that right now.
