Angel had slipped out of the hideout a while ago, however, she had escaped from an unconventional place. She had also inhaled a ton of smoke, causing her to be short of breath… Because of that, it took her a while to locate a safe path to where other cats were located. Once she was a safe distance, she tried to find someone to talk to, as the tiny white she-cat was curious about what had happened…

Dragon, whose owners had left her behind, came out. The blue-gray 10-moon old she-cat came out of her shelter, her amber eyes flashing in panic and pain as her burned hind left paw hurt her. "H-hi, where are you going? Is there a s-safe path out of here?" Dragon asked the nearest cat, wincing as she stepped on her injured paw.

Seastone
{ 21 moons | She/her }
"Raider!" she yelped out, as she heard his voice calling for her, she looked throughout the house and saw nothing, so her last resort was to look outside, fire burned her paws as she walked out of the house, a wince of pain came out, she was saving everyone today. As she looked around she finally saw a fiery tree, she looked up just to see raider clinging on as the fire got closer to him. So she leaped into action, climbing up the tree, her burnt off tail getting even more burnt as she went, but she couldn't let her pain show, she needed to stay calm for her friend raider. "Raider stay calm, I know it's not the best advice but it makes the situation better. Now I'm going to grab you and jump down, don't move." she said as she got behind him. She then climbed higher up the tree, getting right beside him, she leaped and grabbed his pelt, his paws ripping off the tree, she fell down on the ground hard, but she didn't let go of raider. "Now, lets go to my den!" she mewed as she ran through the fire, running out of it and into the woods, approaching her den, slamming open the door, and closing it as she put him down and layed beside basil and raider, licking his wounds.
He didn't have to wait too long before two cats approached him. He could feel the heat building behind him. Duck stared wide-eyed at the brown cat as he spoke. This cat was trying to lead him away! They didn't understand! He stayed firmly where he was, trying to ignore the pain in his pads. "I-I can't leave! My Twoleg! She's still in there!" His voice was cracking and wheezing. The effort it had taken to call over the sound mixed with the smoke he had inhaled was wearing it down.
He looked at both cats with large pleading green eyes. "We can't leave her! You have to help me save her!" He turned his head around, trying to go back inside to save her regardless of what the other two did. He yelped and stumbled back through his door (cat door). The fire had gotten closer than he had expected. It was almost completely engulfing the entrance of his house. He wracked his brain. There was a way to save Lily. There was. He would find it. He just had to think.
Crash! He yelped. It sounded like parts of his house were caving in. The thought, made tears begin to well up in the edges of his eyes. It really was all being destroyed. He shook his head. There was no time for that now! He turned back to the other cats. Panic was causing the fur along his back stand on in. "Th-that's ok! We-we don't have to go through the front! We can go in through the back!" He began to lead them to the back, but had to stop and grit his teeth. His pads were blazing with pain. "No...no!" He forced himself to take another step. He had to ignore it! He had to go on! He wouldn't leave her.
katie leapt in front of duck;
“we have to go, now! I’m sorry but there’s no time!” she frowned as she stared assertively at him.
katie tried to drag duck back to the front door, but her fur felt like it was seemingly burning off and her paws felt scorched.
“please just come on!” she yowled to duck.

Raider heard a cat calling him—a voice—and his head shot up. The flames licking at his tree sparked and hissed as they began to eat the wood up—and up—and up— Ray called out, his voice strangled with fear. “H-help! Help me! Over h-here!” the hoarseness of his words surprised even him. Ray shook with the fear for his life. “H-hello?” Max! He heard several cat’s calling him. It was Max! The kittypet who lived just down the road! “Max?” another voice. “S-seastone!” His friends.
"Raider!" she yelped out, as she heard his voice calling for her, she looked throughout the house and saw nothing, so her last resort was to look outside, fire burned her paws as she walked out of the house, a wince of pain came out, she was saving everyone today. Max turned as he heard the voice again and followed it to the fence, but Seastone had beat him there. He stayed back, but close enough in case his help was needed. She had everything well in paw though, and so Max kept pace with the two cats as they returned to the safety of their hiding place. Panting heavily, Max suppressed a cough as he sat down next to Raider and Seastone. "Is there anything I can do to help?" He offered, hoping to make up for his uselessness so far.

I HAVE MY SHADOWS AND MY COLORS
AND THERE IS THE SMELL OF TIME PASSING
── ⋅ ⋅ ── ☽ ── ⋅ ⋅ ──
JIN . 20 MOONS . HE/HIM . LONER BEWITCHED
It's a few pawsteps more than he expects before Jin feels it; something like a tether pulled taut—
and snapping.
It's not a physical pain—not an ache or a sting or a stab—but a wrongness. It's never hurt, never been something that feels like it could kill him, but he's always had the sense that it might as well. What else could explain the feeling that follows in the split-second after severance? That awful, undone weightlessness. It's some kind of death, anyway. He staggers in the thin stream, unbalanced. It's less that Jin has escaped and more that something has been pulled from him. Something he needs. Something he shouldn't be without.
He makes it a few more paces than he expects before the sickness sets in.
There is a roiling nausea, a heavy fatigue, and wrongwrongwrong. He's trying to follow the sounds of voices, or what he thinks are voices. Someone says bridge, Jin's sure of it. His ears are hot, face too, but he knows it isn't the fire's doing. Over his shoulder: still the glow of heat in a smoke-clogged sky, still the danger beyond the trees, still the tunnel and still the spiders. Running back will be a greater chore than running here had been, in this state. Orange light catches the top of the creek, shivering under his now-clumsy steps.
Now Jin's only being stubborn. Salting the wound. He knows what'll happen if he stays the course; knows that the fire hasn't eaten away what keeps him. Maybe it's that he fled prematurely, that the blaze has yet to reach the boundary. Maybe. It's a maybe that keeps him pushing a few moments more, wheezing and tight-chested and ill. There's yet more yowling in the distance that he can decipher, cries for help and offers for aid. Jin opens his mouth. If the best he can do for his circumstances is lure someone to him, then so be it. He could tell them it's safe. That there's food and shelter and prey. He'll lie if it means he's not alone. He'll lie right through his teeth.
Jin starts to backpedal begrudgingly when he realizes he can't catch enough breath to shout. Back and back and back, water sloshing around his ankles.
"Hhhhhthere's—" It's ragged and horrible, his voice. He breaks off to hack. Steps back and back and back again. He's made it too far from where he should be and his body is paying the price. He knows the rule he lives by. He needs to go home.
"Safe here—!" He just doesn't want to go home alone, is the thing. That's all it is. He'll cast the line now and deal with the consequences later, if there are to be any. Back and back and back. He can feel the sense of disarray waning, though the sickness is bound to linger for a while. It typically does.
"Safe—! Woods! By the—tracks! Prey, shelter!"
Liar, liar. He's not yet on fire, though. Must count for something. Jin suppresses the urge to hurl and finally turns bodily, hauling himself back to his dismal tunnel.
open if anyone in the area wants to get duped, but otherwise this is the last of jin for this event o7
Her lungs burned beyond reason. Choking. Coughing. Each inhale a wheeze. The dilute calico paused to double over, hacking up a storm. Heck no! There was no way she was leaving this damned hell of a place. Stupid. Stupid. Not when she'd just seen a cat who looked idiotically familiar to her IDIOT BROTHER! THE SCOUNDREL! "RISINGPAW!" Her voice is a screech of indignation, grating even to her own ears… but it wasn’t her voice. It was Cougarivy’s.
She'd left the one place, the damned Clan she'd been a part of (hey, it'd been awful mostly), for this kid. Her once-glossy pelt had diminished, luster dimming, once-fine coat now coarse. Well-groomed she was still, but one couldn't hide the malnutrition, couldn't hide that too many of her ribs showed. To find her little brother, and this is where she finds h- This was ridiculous. She was fed up, and without thinking her vocal cords veer into Dawnstar-territory. "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING??" the boney feline growls as the black cat she'd been striding towards completely ignores her and streaks off, further into the world that is burning.
By the time Sweetbriar had caught up to the black furball she'd been hunting down, it was far too late for her to realize her mistake, and all the former ShadowClanner was met with was two wide brown eyes staring back at her, ears pinned against their skull. This wasn't her brother. This cat... skies sake! That wasn't even- "You're not my brother." An annoyed splutter, a blink. Starrywisp’s voice.
This cat wasn't even black! It was just the soot, and the smoke messing with her already watery-eyed vision. Fine. Wasn't her brother, but she'd help them anyway. "Look, kid, you gotta get outta here. You gotta- JEEZ OKAY, DIE THEN FOR ALL I CARE!" The pretty calico leaped back in alarm as the apprentice-sized furball sped off in the opposite direction the second she reached out with a paw. Okay, yes, she had minor anger issues. Recent development. Who cared! Got a problem? Buzz off.
Speaking of problems, Sweetbriar was smack dab in a middle of a major life crisi- The mismatched-eyed molly let out a yowl of alarm as something nearby crashed to the ground, and then she was sprinting in a random direction. Yeah, there was NO WAY she was staying in this death trap. Nuh uh. One of her last thoughts before veering off in Jin's direction was - some cat is doing roundups. If there was anywhere she'd find Rushingpaw, it'd have to be where a group of cats were, yes?

Ginger
Kittypet
Rhiannon's voice was the only hope Ginger held onto through this hell of a time. Her mother was close. She would save her, as long as she followed her instructions. As much as it pained her, she forced the most strained of noises from her throat. The smog had left her unable to even scream. But only if she could, she'd yowl until her voice couldn't stand it any longer.
It felt like an eternity until her mother was in sight. Relief washed over the kitten only briefly us a sickening crack soon erupted through the roaring of flames and blaring of sirens. Mortified, she twisted around to see what horror she'd have to face now, only to see Rhiannon crashing into a flaming piece of wood. The screaming sent shivers down her spine. Flinching away was the only thing she could do as the object landed with a thump only tail-lenghts away from her. A choked sob left her maw.
Squeezing her pale blue hues tightly shut as Rhiannon swooped her up, Ginger hung limply in the gentle jaws of her mother. Sniffling quietly as the two escaped the ruthless flames that destroyed their home. It was like a nightmare. Felt surreal yet the fear was extreme. Only this time there was no comfy bed or smiling faces to wake up to. She wouldn't forget the next day. All the tradegies that happened today would stay burned in her mind forever. Taunting her throughout her life.
The cold night air is still tainted by the suffocating smoke, but it feels like the russet kitten can finally breath again. Opening her frightening eyes just a little bit as her tiny, seared paws touched the cold, hard ground. The embers that seemed intent on burning her to a crisp had seemed to dim now, but a few flickers of light were still present on her singed fur. Her mother's voice made her finally look up.
Papa and Snowdrop...were still stuck in the flames? Ginger blinked up fearfully at her mother, ignoring the first question about her wellbeing. Oh, dear, why was Mama coughing so much? It was then that the kitten realised how badly injured her mother was. Managing a strangled croak "Mama, y-you're hurt..." Tenderly, she reached out a singed paw in an attempt to comfort her mother somehow. Though she was a mess of soot and cinders, zhe wanted to take away her mother's pain as well.
Uncle Casket echoed her concerns. Tilting her head up, she watched him worriedly as he instructed, and warned them. He made it sound so...scary(it was of course) but how could they leave her father and sister? Her uncle only said her would try not that he would save them. It was more truthful but it just made her more panicked. Still, they couldn't stay here if there was still danger.
As Casket leapt away from them, Ginger turned to her mother with newfound determination."M-Mama...Come-come on, we n-need to go...to the b-bridge" Though she still wheezed she managed to make out a sentance. Attempting to gently nudge Rhiannon in the hopes of urging her to leaver. They had to go to Eagle, she would help them. She knew how to heal but they'd only truly recover with Papa...they couldn't lose him. She didn't want to lose him.
He didn't have to wait too long before two cats approached him. He could feel the heat building behind him. Duck stared wide-eyed at the brown cat as he spoke. This cat was trying to lead him away! We can go in through the back!" He began to lead them to the back, but had to stop and grit his teeth. His pads were blazing with pain. "No...no!" He forced himself to take another step. He had to ignore it! He had to go on! He wouldn't leave her.

Duck
Former TC ~*~ Kittypet
Duck spun around to lock eyes with the other kittypet as she was speaking. She looked frightened, as she pleaded with him to leave. Her obvious fear, made his claws sink into the mud. He needed to get a hold of himself. How could he do any good for Lily like this? Think Duck! You were a warrior once. Act like you've been under pressure before! He began to take a good look at his surroundings. Everything was on fire tonight, not just his den. It shrouded the neighborhood in a sickening glow. This was completely out of control. The noise in the air was still ear piercing, pounding at the inside of his skull. Demanding that he realize something was very very wrong. Bring yourself to this moment. Be here. It was hard. It hurt. This moment was too much, but there wouldn't be more moments left for any of them if he didn't get himself together.
He hadn't gotten a good look at her yet, but now that he had a chance the other kittypet looked little older than a kit. He assumed she would be a young apprentice if they were in a clan. At once his fatherly instincts began to kick in. For a heartbeat all he could think about was taking her far far away from danger. This young molly shouldn't be anywhere near the fire! He swung his head back around to study his collapsing den. His ears pinned back to his head, his eyes misting over. But what about Lily... A twinge of guilt lit up in his stomach. Who was he to be worrying about young cats again? After all what kind of father had he been? He couldn't claim to know anything about protecting kits. And he couldn't just leave Lily behind. Maybe he could send this little one away? His mind struggled against the pain in his pads to come up with a solution.
Then the other cat spoke. The cream tom's eyes widened in shock and gratitude. This stranger was going to help him? Just like that! Was this a miracle? "You would really do that for me? I'll give you anything you want! Just name the price!" If Lily could get back safe that's all he really needed anyways. He'd even be willing to give this stranger the collar off his own neck! He puffed up his soft fur as the stranger told him to hang back. Duck opened his mouth to protest, then shut it. The pain in his pads was unbearable. Moments before he could hardly stand, and while it was getting better slightly, he had a sinking suspicion that it wouldn't heal enough. Especially not with their limited time. He knew if he went, he'd only be a burden. He closed his eyes and tilted his head back to the sky obscured with smoke. "Starclan, if you're truly there forgive me." He muttered under his breath.
He snapped open his eyes and looked at the stranger seriously. He had read the fluffy kittypet like an open book. Surely he was clever. Maybe he was clever enough to go it alone? "I-I can't help, my friend. I'm sorry. The back is just past that gate. Please be careful. Leave if things get too dicy, I'll still pay for your efforts of course." If this stranger died because Duck had sent him into danger he wasn't sure he could forgive himself. But if Lily died because he hadn't been willing to ask for help, he would never sleep again. It was up to this stranger if he wanted to risk it. He couldn't say he would blame him either way. He just really hoped he went for Lily. This brown tom might be her only hope right now.
He turned to the younger cat, screwed up his face into a grimace, and nodded at her. "I...I will go with you. Do you...do you know somewhere safe?" He dug his claws further into the grass of his own lawn. Green eyes cast themselves onto his disintegrating home. He was really leaving, this place to burn. But it didn't feel real.
