Creek'Kit tried to peer over the grey cat ahead. What was she hiding? Unfortunately, Creek'Kit had no one to call a mother so she watched as the mothers and other kits were brought into the nursery, she felt alone.
She had been laying just inside the nursery, watching her daughter as she did. That was, of course, until a call for kits to go into the nursery sounded. Oh, oh no. She felt sick seeing a little ginger body being carried into the camp. Oh stars... She had just gotten up to rush Lightningkit inside when she saw her little light look for... her. Oh, her sweet sweet girl. Watching the calico run and hide, Gingerheart followed her quickly.
Her baby called for her.
Her baby.
Her baby.
Her baby.
Her heart felt like it was being ripped in half, and soon enough she had passed by Peachfrost - the warrior Lightningkit was hiding behind - to get her own child. Cooing out soft comforts, she picked her daughter up, sending a small glance to Peachfrost as a thank you, even if she hadn't done much but stand there. "Mommas got you, my little light. Mommas here, don't worry. I'm here. I've got you." She brought Lightningkit into the nursery, placing her into their shared nest. She curled herself around the crying kit, still murmuring soft comforts to her.
"Little Squirrelkit is safe, warm and happy now.. She's going to always be safe. Just like you are, with Momma around. I'll always be here. To protect you, and any little siblings you may have. You will always be safe. I will keep you safe." She prayed to the stars that she would be able to keep her promise. That's all she wanted to do. No, scratch that. That's what she will do. She would risk her life for this little bundle crying into her, no. matter. what.

Windkit saw another kit in the clearing. She didn't know her name but she looked sad. "Hi. I'm Windkit. Whats your name? Are you sad?" She asked, sitting at the other shekits side.
There was so much going on, it was all so loud and overwhelming. They heard the sobs of an apprentice , and wondered if they should've called for them to leave too. Luckily their sibling was there to comfort Tigerpaw at least. Somebody called forward the parents of the kit and they almost made a movement to step away from the body. Until they saw a kit still out in the clearing. "Creekkit, how about you go follow Gingerheart and Lightningkit into the nursery, okay?"
With that assumedly dealt with, they felt they should provide an explanation to what happened. Of course what they had was all speculation, as they didn't see the incident themselves, it made the most sense given the circumstances."I found them a fair bit aways from camp in the territory. I believe she snuck out and a hawk got a hold of her-"Until it didn't.
It was then that Brightdawn would move away to let those who needed to see the body see it. They sat down a few paces away in case they were still needed, but their blue eyes didn't leave the ground.

It felt so wrong, the tiny body hanging limp in their jaws. But it was the easiest way to bring her back to camp. Brightdawn wanted to cry, or throw up, but they did neither. They needed to stay calm or as close as they could manage. At last they reached the clearing, they laid the ginger body down gently, before stepping in front of it, hoping to block the view form any kits that may be out and about.
"Queens please bring the kits into the nursery." Despite their attempts to keep calm for the young one's sake, their voice still wavered. Pleading eyes looked to meet anyone else's, they weren't sure what to do now. They knew they should call forth Squirrelkit's parents, but their names evaded them. INstead they just stood their frozen, quivering as silent sobs racked their body. Somebody help, please.
Halffur stayed silent, it seemed he did not care for the tiny kit, but he was truly wondering why a kit with such a long life ahead of them had died

"I don't. Me and my brother were loner kits and some windclan warriors found us, and a queen nursed us till we were weaned but then left us on our own. We can be orphans together!" Windkit said, happy to find someone like her. "Can we be friends?" She asked.
