Re: WindClan Territory
Coldamber watched the living world, sorrowful of the events that recently plagued her home Clan. Sorrow, and guilt.
She'd missed it.
She'd been so busy watching ThunderClan, she'd missed the signs and now, the home she'd entrusted to Cowtuft .....
He'd forsaken them. Betrayed them, with his negligence.
Perhaps it was not solely his responsibility. Perhaps she hadn't.... Explained in a way to make him be more wary of of yew berries. More watchful, more careful, more..... Something.
She sank to the ground, gazing intently into the pool of water she used as her looking glass, eyes of molten amber flickering across what she saw, looking for a specific pelt.
There.
As Lightningstorm made her way back towards camp, Coldamber blew gently across the surface of the water, freezing where her breath touched.
In the living world, a gentle, but frigid breeze gusted around Lightningstorm, and laying perfectly at her paws, perfectly wrapped in oak leaves and intact, were 7 herbs.
One poppy flower, seeds miraculously still held to its center, 2 catmint, and 4 marigold.
All fresh.
Coldamber laid her head on the ground, continuing to watch the Medicine Cat, and hoped she recognized the gift. As quickly as it formed, the thin layer of frost melted and similarly in the living world, the winds settled, and a gentle warmth settled over the area.

Quailheart's paws felt like stone as she walked in the cold moor. She blinked her sleepy eyes, the grief in her chest was so great she felt weak. Shaking out her pelt, she continued to walk, and thought back about Mapledusk. Should she really split from him? He wasn't supportive when she needed him to be.
Yes.
She loved him, but did she really? Did she just like him, and took it too far?
She was ticked off. The white-and-cream molly wanted to snarl at his surprised face. She decided. Next time she saw him, she would tell him. She would tell his stupid face how she felt.
Why had StarClan taken her kit? Her sweet little Wispkit.
Quailheart suddenly felt all alone in the world. Everything had turned upside down. would anything ever be normal again?

Re: WindClan Territory
Sunsplash carelessly ran around the territory, scooping up soil with her paws and leaving it behind as she ran swiftly. She felt the wind blow through her fur, joy and exhilaration alighting her heart. Sunsplash felt the most free when she was running, where the breeze could flow through her pelt and go as it pleased. She was a rather speedy cat, so she was very accustomed to running- not to mention the fact she was Windclan. Sunsplash often thought about things when she was running. Like now, for example. She was wondering about the rules. Why so many? Why so stupid? Sunsplash had never entirely respected some of the rules of the warrior code, but there were some things she did respect. Like respecting your elders, not killing a cat in battle, ect. But some rules she just found stupid. Like not taking a mate from another clan. Love is love, can’t change that.
Sunsplash immediately stopped her running and thinking when she came upon a rabbit. Her sky blue eyes lit up with opportunity and excitement. Yes! This was a slim rabbit, yes, but it seemed like a good chase. Sunsplash could care less about the fact it was prey, she just wanted to have fun! She didn’t choose to be born in the clan, the only reason she stayed was because of her family and friends.. and potential friends! She stalked the rabbit until she was a tail-length away from it. Sunsplash broke into a sprint after it, giving chase to the now fleeing prey. She felt alive just doing this.

Dunecall
Windclan
40 moons old | he/him
The Collector
Dunecall was walking silently in the moorland, observing the peace of leafbare in the light breeze that bent the heather and the gorse, and the rocks that lined little streams across the valley. Yes, despite everything that leafbare regularly brought to the clans, Dunecall found that the way leafbare shaped the landscape was something incredibly beautiful.
He was accustomed to a soft pace, avoiding little wilted twigs or leaves that could crunch under his paws and give him away to potential prey. These sounds could also be brought by the wind, so it was very easy to hear things here.
And right now, Dunecall's ears were perking to his right to a sound he knew very well. The stomping of long legs and tiny bodies: a rabbit!
The black-brown tomcat immediately broke blindly into a quick run toward the source of the sound, and a few mere seconds were needed to show that a grayish rabbit was actually running freely on the moor, but it was a crazy run, and it was clear that the creature was running from something else. Dunecall chose to ignore the last part of it and headed toward the rabbit from the opposite direction so that he and the other follower would close in on the rabbit.
...SBANG! Crack!
The rabbit had changed abruptly direction as soon as he caught sight of Dunecall, but the warrior was ready for that as immediately diminished the distance between them until he reached it. The chase got to an end when he leaped on it with claws unsheathed, and the two rolled for a good number of tail-lengths further until he found his way to the rabbit's neck and closed his jaws on it.
Blood spurted out, warm blood that Dunecall found exhilarating after such an energetic run. He raised his head from the prey and licked his lips.
Someone else was watching him now.
yay!

Sunsplash skidded to an abrupt halt. She felt a strong sense of indignation wash over her as she saw her little chase-ee get killed. It quickly vanished once she saw the exhilaration in the warrior’s eyes. Everyone deserved to have fun. She, not being one for rules, simply shrugged the interrupted rabbit chase off. It was just a rabbit. She couldn’t blame a warrior for catching prey, that’s just a part of what they did. Plus, they were of the same clan. It’s fine. “Hey.” she said, smiling as she waved her tail in greeting to the fellow warrior. She was still a bit salty about the rabbit, but she knew that holding a grudge about it would do nothing. Grudges would only hold her back from the freedom that she so frequently craved. She needed to have every experience she could in this life, even if she was surrounded by emotional, angry, or irrational cats. That wasn’t going to stop her at all. “I’m Sunsplash, what’s your name?” she asked, blue eyes friendly and welcoming. She was a very open-minded cat, ready for anything.
Sunsplash felt the breeze blow through her feathery fur, and she couldn’t feel happier. It was always the best time of year when it was windy, but she supposed that was expected of a Windclan cat, to like wind and all. She was obviously friendly, judging by her relaxed posture, carefree expression, the welcoming in her eyes. She was like that one cool aunt you had that always broke the rules to have fun with you, except she didn’t have any nieces or nephews. But it was her sister’s decision to have kits or not; not Sunsplash’s. She’d accept if Foxbound did or didn’t want children, she couldn’t care less. She’d be overjoyed at the concept of nieces and nephews to have fun with, yes, but she could also have fun with the kits not related to her if Foxbound never had kids.
(A beautiful friendship started with a rabbit )

Re: WindClan Territory

Heightened Perception [Smell] - Active | Rapid Recovery - Inactive
Oh... goodness. It was windy today, wasn't it? Almost like if the territory itself was raging at the events that had transpired at the camp mere moments before. Even the long furred warrior couldn't help the shudder that passed through his body as his nose twitched, offended as it was continuously buffeted by the whipping winds. His big stature, while giving the assaulting gusts more body to toss about, helped in keeping him centered, only his fur moving against his will.
Mismatched ears perked up as he heard Deadmoon speak, quickly nodding in response only to feel his cheeks heat up in embarrassment a second later. Right... That was probably meant at the apprentices, not at him. Deadmoon was his former mentor, not his current one. Because... You know... He was a warrior. Not an apprentice. Well, as far as mortifying mistakes went that one wasn't too terrible. Definitely worst ways of starting this patrol... He could have slipped and slid all the way into a badger sett. See? Nothing but silver linings here. Now if only the ground could open up and swallow him whole, that would be rather neat of it.
And speaking of the ground! By golly... wasn't he supposed to be looking at it right now? While searching for herbs? Snowybreeze snorted, inwardly berating himself. Leave it to him to forget the focus of this patrol because he was too busy thinking about himself. When would he stop being so self centered? They were here for the clan! So! Herbs!
Veering slightly off from the spot were Deadmoon had found her own herbs, the tom sniffed about, letting his oversensitive nose guide him to the scent of flowers. Excitedly, he soon came upon a single yellow bloom poking through the soil. In his eagerness to get the wild flower, his premonition came to be. That rock really did seem to come out of nowhere. Gratefully, he didn't slide. Unfortunately, he did twist, tumble, and roll his way into a long disused, cobweb filled sett.
A cloud of dust raised above Snowybreeze as the colossal warrior sneezed. And again. And once more for good measure. A couple of those out of the way, the tom splayed out on the ground with a low groan, his belly up as he momentarily wondered if this was StarClan's attempt at humor. He had just asked for the ground to swallow him whole, after all. The notion was quickly discarded, however, with the patched warrior's understanding that he was simply not important enough for StarClan to give any attention to. Getting up, his fur unknowingly filled with cobwebs, he scrambled out of the sett, wondering what were the odds no one had seen that. Probably none. StarClan help him...

Re: WindClan Territory
She wasn't going to laugh. She wasn't. It would be mean, and with how prone poor Snowybreeze was to getting it would really be cruel if she laughed. Deadmoon wasn't. going. to. laugh.
Deadmoon laughed. She was a horrible cat, she was well aware, but the sudden disappearance of the massive, fluffy white cat into the bowels of the earth was simply too comedic NOT to grace with a giggle. Or two. Or three. She really was a horrible friend, but what else was new? That wasn't ever going to change, so she might as well have a bit of fun with it! With great difficulty, she ceased her mirth and called Snowy! Are you alright? as she padded towards him. Despite the amusement factor, Deadmoon was genuinely a bit concerned for his safety. He didn't look harmed, but with so few herbs (though they were trying to remedy this, of course) any wound could be dangerous, and she'd quite like to keep him around.
Casting her gaze a bit farther, it seemed that neither Starrypaw nor Birdpaw had collected any herbs thus far. Though her attention was still focussed on her son former apprentice, Deadmoon called in their general direction If you two haven't found anything yet, look around for any yellow flowers. I think there are a few more dangly ones on the bush all of them looked pretty withered and she'd taken the freshest ones herself, but it as better than nothing and you might be able to spot marigold or something else yellow nearby. Variety would be good, Lightningstorm probably couldn't do too much with just the yellow dangly ones. @ Alchemist Kitsune @ Katiethewolfchild @ Supersabre

Re: WindClan Territory

Heightened Perception [Smell] - Active | Rapid Recovery - Inactive
Laughter reached the giant's mismatched ears as he emerged from the old badger sett, heat quickly rising to them. Snowybreeze wasn't angry. Oh goodness, no. He was always happy to provide a laugh if all else failed. But the truth was, it was his former mentor laughing at him... and by golly, they were in front of apprentices. Apprentices that he could admittedly not see right now - perhaps StarClan had been kind to him and sent them away before he could make a fool of himself - but apprentices none the less. Apprentices that might view his former mentor as a lesser cat if they were to find out that such a worthless, clumsy oaf had been trained by her! Oh! Perish the thought!
The Maine Coon mix was proud to have been Deadmoon's apprentice. He loved her, and hoped he could be at least a half competent warrior in Deadmoon's eyes. The thought of being so... himself while not only in her company, but in the company of others was terrifying. He could only send a small gratitude to StarClan that it was only Deadmoon laughing here, and he had little to worry about. Judging from her reaction, she would not be angry at this mishap today. Not that she had ever been. Kindness and patience reigned eternal with the pale she-cat. Traits that he could only hope to carry forward in turn.
Despite her laughter, the warrior's concern in her gaze was genuine as she approached, and the tom felt an odd mixture of warmth and guilt bubbling within him. It was nice... to know Deadmoon cared so much for him. And yet it was selfish of him to feel this way. He had worried her! While he was meant to be helping! What a terrible friend he was! Rapidly the tom nodded his head, vigorously - albeit silently - letting her know there was nothing to worry about as the cobwebs flew from his pelt, a single one sticking stubbornly to his head.
Pale blue eyes followed the molly's gaze, and he soon spotted the patch of flowers she spoke of. Dubiously, he wondered if he should bring some more of these yellow flowers himself. His mothe- erm... friend was correct. There was little Lightningstorm would be able to do with only the dangly yellow flowers. As he approached, however, a particularly sweet scent assaulted his oversensitive nose, causing his whiskers to twitch. Tilting his head lightly, he noticed some herbs that were not as common closer to camp. Bright yellow flowers that he wasn't certain he had seen before. But then... he didn't know all the herbs that the medicine cats used. Perhaps this would be of use to the healer?
On closer inspection, the tom took note that most of the flowers seemed to have been affected by the cold, and it was only through the insistence of his nose that he spotted it. The singular, still fresh bloom amongst the frostbite. Careful not to destroy the precious herb, Snowybreeze clipped it with his teeth before grabbing on to it. On a whim, he decided to keep his gathering to this singular herb. If it was somehow important, he didn't want to accidentally squish it with more gathering... and he was certainly prone to do as much. He could always head on out for more herbs later at Lightningstorm's request, after all! Not only that, but he was worried about the apprentices. Wanted to make sure they hadn't gotten lost and were simply back home.
"All. Set," the colossal tom whispered, careful not to move his mouth too much as he turned towards Deadmoon, cobweb on head and flower in maw, ready for the excursion back home.

Re: WindClan Territory
Birdpaw had spaced out for a bit watching some butterflies fly pass. She wondered how they flew, since their wings were so fragile. She had wondered that most of her life, but the amazement never left. Not for her anyways. When the butterflies flew away she finally remembered that she was on a patrol and looked for yellow flowers. That was what umm Deadmoon had said to look for, right? Yellow flowers? Ooh yellow flowers! Grabbing some yellow flowers, the apprentice meowed lookie what I got! Her voice was mumbled by the herbs in her mouth. Starrypaw
26/100 Starrypaw searched through the pines. Cobwebs and…hey, there they are! She snatched two cobwebs from a branch. "Got some," she said cheerily.
