He watched anxiously as Silverkit and Bearkit joined Meadowkit's game, leaving him alone with Rueripple in the nest. Rolling back onto his tummy, he squirmed as he watched them. He didn't want to leave the warmth and comfort of the nursery.

Fawnkit puffed up in protest. "I'm not scared!" he mewed to Bearkit. "If we get cold we'll have to go to the m-mem-menacine cat! I wanna play inside like mumma and Meadowkit said."

Meadowkit jumped up, ``I'm dibs deputy! `` He chirped

Bearkit half pranced, half leaped over to his brother. He tilted his head to the left and stared at Fawnkit. "You are going to play clan with us right? I could give you your warrior name!" Hopping away the tom pondered a warrior name for his brother.

Fawnkit looked at Bearkit with big eyes. "My warrior name?" he echoed, finally wriggling away from Rueripple's side and to the very edge of the nest.
His siblings had already taken the cool roles, but that was fine by him - a warrior seemed a lot less scary than any of that other stuff. Well, maybe still a little scary... but at least he didn't have to play outside in the rain! He hopped out of the nest on wobbly legs.

Bearkit looked around the nursery for a moment before setting his eyes on a small moss ball. He lowered himself into a lop-sided crouch before pouncing on the moss. The kit happily tossed it around with his paws for a moment before lowering his head and picking it up in his jaw.

He took a seat in the middle of the nursery den and set the moss down and cleared his throat. "Eh hem! All cats uh, ummm.. Gather.... Just come gather with me near the Great Moss Ball!"

lilackit pranced up, ear twitching, focusing on the vibrations from bearkit's speech. ' i wanna play clan! ' she warbled, swaying on her feet happily.

Bearkit looked up at the older kit, curious and even a tad jealous that this cat would become an apprentice before him. He gave his shoulder a quick lick before he spoke.

"Yes, I will give you a warrior name as well, as your leader after all" Bearkit puffed up his chest and looked at Lilackit, trying to look as though the age difference didn't matter to him.
