"And that's what I'm sayin', is like,"

Cream and red paws are hard at work, busy clumsily pawing and pressing and sweeping. Goldenpaw is fussing with his bedding, replenishing it, refurbishing it...stacking it...knocking the stacks down....chewing on some of it...uh.

"They don't make any sense. They're made out of, like...fur-leaves? Twigs?" He continues, kicking aside a clumsily stacked pile of old bedding only to turn and neatly smooth a fresh swathe of moss down into the divot where his nest usually sits. "Their faces are insane, like, they got a rock for a muzzle, hello?"

The talking is because she needs some kind of noise to make this chore bearable. That's it, really. The subject of her idle bed-changing ramble is a deep analysis on what even is the problem with birds and whatever all they've got going on, a topic that Goldenpaw is happy to just keep yapping about aimlessly at herself until she's satisfied with her nest situation. Despite having all the self-generated noise she needs to focus on the task at hand, it's not being done very quickly, nor is her work efficient. She keeps getting distracted from the easy process of areanging her new bedding by the unbeatable urge to play around with the old, dried up stuff like a kitten might.

It's just this slow-moving back and forth loop that she's stuck in, now, set to the soundtrack of her hot take(s) on birds.

"And the feet have too much goin' on, frankly. I'm just saying, I don't think we're actually supposed to eat those things. Like, obviously yeah we can and they're delicious but it's prob'ly bad for you somehow. I bet cats only die 'cause when you eat a bird then you're puttin' some kinda strange evil into your body and that kills you, but like, jus' real slowly. We'd live forever if we didn't eat birds I think." She sneezes loudly. Who knows how many irritants are in that old nasty moss. "No, yeah, that makes sense. That's real."

Owlheart walked in and over to Goldenpaw. "Do you want some help Goldenpaw you look like you could use it?" she mewed while smiling at the apprentice. @nyme

"GAH? Oh." They nearly nick their ears on the woven bramble roof, jumping up in alarm like that. Goldenpaw recovers with a breezy laugh, but the damage is done: their tail is all bushed up and they've kicked another stack of useless old moss exceptionally far this time. Drat.

"Buddy you gotta speak up first or something', I was rolling deep in like eight different zones...that coulda gotten scary if I turned on ya..." Goldenpw sighs dramatically. It would not have gotten scary. Goldenpaw talks too dang much. "Buuut yeah couldja help
me pick up these pieces and put 'em out where the mess goes? 'Cept that, there, I'm playin' with that one." He gestures vaguely.

"Yeah sure but uh you want to talk about scary you should look at me." Owlheart mewed. She had scars everywhere on her body and she had half a tail. On top of that, she has a huge body with giant paws. @nyme

"You're no scarier than a mouse in clover, miss!" Goldenpaw remarks, shaking off. She's not gonna let battle-scars dictate whether she thinks this warrior is frightening or not...but then, who's to say if Owlheart wants to be frightening? Goldenpaw's whiskers twitch.

"Though you've clearly seen more battles than one...I bet the other guys left lookin' way worse though, eh?" She chimes conversationally, rolling a mossball under one paw absently. "Say, are you so big 'cause you got lucky or is there a secret to it?"

"Thanks for the compliment. What do you mean Because I got lucky? Owlheart mewed while picking up all the scatters moss. @nyme

"Like," he frowns, ears flicking. "Are you just a big cat? Or didja eat somethin' to grow like that?" Goldenpaw specifies, making a halfhearted effort to tody up their nest space now that all of the clean moss had been arranged more or less to their liking. It could still stand to be fluffed up with some ferns or feathers or whatnot, but it'd suffice for now.

"Oh—! Rats, I'm not keepin' ya, am I, miss? Were you jus' pokin' your head in to be kind or are ya lookin' for your apprentice?" Goldenpaw asks suddenly. Goodness, he hopes he didn't just steal someone else's mentor to help him clean his bed.

Owlheart looked at the apprentice. " I'm just a big cat. No, i wish i had an apprentice but no im not doing anything right now I would normally be eating but I'm not hungry." She said reassuring him that he was not bothering her.

Snakepelt was a little surprised to hear how the apprentice spoke. However, it didn't matter in the slightest to them. Whatever they were here for, it was to help this apprentice! Not get mad at him for no reason.

"Ah, I guess I didn't really know. You were just the first apprentice I asked."

They gave their silent, shy sort of smile, standing up straight as they cleared their throat. Without any hesitance, Snakepelt further answered Morningpaw's questions.

"Sorry for not properly introducing myself... I'm Snakepelt, I've seen you at a couple meetings and around camp. I also train your sibling, Porcupinepaw"

They tilted their head, flicking their tail. They brought their paw behind their own ear and simply cuffed it. Snakepelt didn't feel an ounce of awkwardness. They just wanted to teach apprentice's what they knew.

"Alright! We can leave now,"

They had one paw out of the den and the three others behind them. Maybe this would be a chance for them to get some ideas to pass onto Porcupinepaw? Though when it came to mind they shook it off. This was a training opportunity for Morningpaw, not Porcupinepaw. Snakepelt had to remember that. They needed to focus on worked well for Morningpaw, not what would theoretically work well for Porcupinepaw. With that cleared up for themself, Snakepelt slowly padded out of the den, enjoying the fresh breeze blowing through their short fur.
