Hazelstripe hadn’t gone to the battle, despite desperately wanting to have an opportunity to show those squirrels their place. After all, some warriors needed to stay behind and guard the camp, right? Staying in camp, she had waited impatiently for the assault team to make their way back. It took long, entirely too long for them to come back. So long in-fact that the usually indifferent warrior had begun to worry. Just as she was debating heading out herself to see what was taking so long, the familiar hulking shape of Dawnstar carrying a body came into view. She had half a mind to rush over and find out what had happened, but the moods of the other cats making their way into the camp seemed to be relatively positive. Oh? So did that mean they won? A flash of movement in the corner of her eye had her look just in time to see a grey feline shape hurriedly sneaking into the nursery. Well, that was weird. But okay. Despite the dead warrior hanging from the leader’s jaws, it seemed like the battle had gone well, and it didn’t take too long for Dawnstar to hop upon the Shadowledge and call a meeting. Settling into a spot when called, Hazelstripe glanced towards the nursery and saw the same cat - that she recognized to be Larkfire - sitting at the edge of the nursery. Well, that’d explain the sneaking. Based on the way she had acted, it seemed there was someone that she was trying to keep from finding out she had been out.
Snaking her way through the crowd, Hazelstripe approached the white and grey queen and plopped herself next to her. ”It seems that you fought despite recently having kits. I think that’s pretty cool. Did you kick some ass?” she asked, not bothering to turn towards the other she-cat.

Next to Larkfire, the young warrior silently listened to Danwstar with a swell of pride bursting in her chest. Hey, it looked like the other warriors weren’t so incompetent after all. Of course, had she been there, things would’ve been over a lot sooner, but oh well. There was always next time. She did frown when Danwstar mentioned one of the apprentices getting kidnapped. Just how could you let yourself get kidnapped on a battlefield, surrounded by a bunch of your clanmates. By another apprentice no less. Gross. See her personally? She’d never have gotten into a position to be kidnapped in the first place. No one would even have the gall to even try something as ridiculous as kidnapping her. Of course, she could see why they would want to if they did have a death wish, she was pretty amazing after all.
That aside, the brown and white tabby listened as Dawnstar informed some nitwits that she wouldn’t be sending anyone into ThunderClan territory. C’nmon, anyone with half a brain would’ve been able to figure that out. They just took some of ThunderClan’s territory, why in the name of StarClan would they cause more potentially unnecessary trouble over a single apprentice? It was their own fault for getting snatched in the first place. Not to mention that they were in the thick of Leaf-fall, Leaf-bare was right around the corner and they did not need any unnecessary casualties to their warriors who could be hunting for food or looking for herbs when supplies grew scarce.
Hmm, a couple of ceremonies were being going to be done it seemed. A single kit being apprenticed by the sound of it, Hazelstripe hoped that they got a half-competent mentor as they made their way to the front. Of course, her own mentor had basically been the most competent in the clan, being the medicine cat and taking on two apprentices of his own to train to warriorhood. Elmshadow was just built differently, something that the amber-eyed she-cat took pride in. Her mentor was the best, and not many others can say that they had him to mentor them, so it was just another thing to lord over the riffraff.
It was Dawnstar’s next words that caused Hazelstripe to take back all of her earlier praise for her clanmates. These nincompoops couldn’t accomplish anything. How the hell did they let FOUR randos in? Disgusting, utterly disgusting. She wanted them gone immediately. Just who did they think they were anyway? If they couldn’t go through the proper procedure of joining the clan, then they clearly weren’t worthy of being in her presence. Thankfully, it didn’t take to long for a huge black tom to warn them off. A shame, all of those muscles and he didn’t even use them. Had it been her, she’d have gone for their throats from the get-go. Oh well. Casting a glance to the queen who was at her side, she remembered something. That was Darkfall. He had been spending a lot of time around Larkfire recently, right? They were probably together or something. ”Your boyfriend is too soft, he should’ve just killed them. It’s what I’d have done anyways.”
She didn’t get to think about that for too long because she heard her name being called by Dawnstar. She was to be a mentor? Amber eyes widened for a moment before she quickly came back to her senses. Of course, she was going to be a mentor. It was only a matter of time after all. She was quite amazing. A shame that she’d have to spend her time with this little thing for the time being. Oh well. "Ah, allow me to excuse myself, looks like I'm needed elsewhere." she said, rising to her paws and dismissively flicking an ear in the young queen's direction.
Marching up to the front, she looked down a the newly named apprentice. Well she was certainly… fluffy. A slight frown drew across her features as she studied the she-cat. ”Listen here runt, don’t expect me to go easy on you because you’re so young. Be ready to be worked to the bone and provide results. I won’t accept failure of any kind, so don't disappoint me.” She said with a hint of disdain lacing her voice. She hoped she wouldn’t be disappointed, if the young’un proved to be too slow to learn things, she might try and pawn them off to another warrior. She certainly didn’t want to waste time with someone useless. Perhaps, if things went perfectly, she’d be able to turn this ball of fluff into a semi-competent warrior. StarClan knows that they need some more of those around the clan, there were too many freeloaders and half-wits. Well, she'd give Midnightpaw a little while to get used to things, but after the brief grace period, she'd expect nothing but perfection. Perfection gives rise to more perfection, she was perfect thus it only made sense that she have a perfect apprentice.

Larkfire had expected to sit alone this meeting, halfway between the Nursery and the clearing. And yet, she had been approached before long, by a young, spunky warrior. Her name was... Er... Hazelspike, yes. Wait, no, Hazelstripe. Shooting the other warrior a curious side-glance as she plopped down beside her without needing much invitation, Larkfire hummed in thought. "S'pose you could say that." She responded simply, and that was that.
She wasn't prepared for what came afterward, though. Added to the surprise of the four cats Dawnstar called to chase off, Larkfire was even more shocked to learn that she apparently had a boyfriend. Head snapping towards Hazelstripe at the off-hand comment, Larkfire stared at the other amber-eyed feline for a bewildered moment before chuckling awkwardly, following her gaze to Darkfall (who unfortunately just had to look just as mouthwatering as ever). No, what? She hadn't just thought that, noooo...
Face flaming with embarrassment, Larkfire didn't manage to respond to Hazelstripe until she noted that the warrior was rising to her paws and heading off to greet her new apprentice. "He's not my..." She started, but by this point Hazelstripe had already drawn too far away, and there was no point for Larkfire to finish her sentence. Her mouth just kept working, though, regardless of the fact that she now lacked company. "...boyfriend..?"
Hawkbite was taken off guard by Silverlark's sudden appearance before he realized what had happened. An amused expression crossed his face before Dawnstar interrupted them. The Enforcer blinked towards Silverlark with understanding. Orders were orders, they could catch up later.
Shortly after, the leader started ceremonies and Hawkbite took up the clan habit of cheering their names.

Unlike Darky, his former mentor was instantly on the attack. The muscular tom was not surprised. If he were to be forced to use only one word to describe the fiend, it would be murderous. It was like the dark warrior was always looking for his next victim, and ShadowClanners themselves were only safe because it was out of his power to sink his claws into them without grievous repercussions to himself. It would be terrifying to think of what that tom could do with any level of power if the younger warrior hadn't already experienced first pawed exactly what that entailed. Shadefrost would probably just ignore anyone who did not provide him enough amusement to even kill, just like he'd done to him during his entire apprenticeship.
Nose wrinkled with disgust at the entire situation, the stocky feline was gratefully no longer required, those who had somehow encroached into their territory - must have taken advantage of the chaos during the battle to slide in - choosing the easy way and running away. As much as Silverlark hoped this was it, the gray furred warrior padded forward, eyes on the entrance until he sat before it, shifting his attention to the leader once more. Wounded as he was from the battle, he would follow their scent once the meeting was over and ensure they were truly gone. That killer had been hard to kill, but he'd fought beasts that hit much harder before. He could handle his wounds for just a little longer. But for now? There were celebrations to be had!
"Midnightpaw! Midnightpaw!" the young warrior chirped out with the rest of the clan, happy for the new apprentice.
Hopefully, this would be a fun new friend for Risingpaw, heh heh. But of course, the ceremonies were not done, and - gasp - it seemed he wasn't going to be the newest warrior in the den anymore?! Victory! The twelve moon old warrior stomped his paws giddily on the ground as Sharppaw stepped forward. Oh, he was in a good mood again, yep! Maybe he could convince Sir Bits to help him make sure those pesky intruders had left their territory for good, heh heh. That would be a silver lining on an otherwise unfortunate event, especially considering how this was already a rather divisive day in terms of good and bad news to be had.

"Then, I give you your warrior name. Sharppaw, from this moment on you will be known as Sharpfrost. We honor your bravery and cunning and welcome you as a full warrior of ShadowClan." While her clan congratulated the new warriors, Dawnstar's eyes darted around the crowd for reassignments.
"Dovedance, I've no clue where the furball is, but Burnetpaw will be your apprentice from now on." Dawnstar told the warrior. ShadowClan only had one apprentice needed for reassignments. She didn't get her hopes up that it would be a normal occurrence.
"Nighthound has chosen to step down from his enforcer rank." Dawnstar growled unhappily. "I've decided that Silverlark will be taking over Nighthound's position and serving as ShadowClan's newest Enforcer." Even though he's only been recently made a warrior. Silverlark has proven to be quite dependable when needed and she likes his drive. She hadn't a clue when that drive might die out, or he'd resign like the others, but for right now he seemed like the perfect replacement for Nighthound.
"That leaves ShadowClan with still two Enforcer ranks open. I need those spots filled. Quite frankly I'm a little disappointed that there aren't more trying harder for the promotion." Dawnstar's judgemental gaze swept through the clan before she descended from the Shadowledge with a quiet grunt. It was time for a nap. #shcmeeting

"Only an apprentice and a mentor? You fought amazingly!! That apprentice's shoulders and back were absolutely shredded!!" DreamingBloom complimented with delight. "Maybe that apprentice ran away, too scared you’ll be back to fight her again." The she-cat said, looking up to Dawnstar as they spoke.
"Yeah but anyone could shred an apprentice." Cougarbite said, but he licked his paw self conciously from the compliment. "I didn't see you fighting, but I'm sure you did amazing." He said. "I got a look at Bumblestar and she didn't look great." He chuckled.

DreamingBloom yawned. "Maybe. But you still did great." She said, flicking her tail. "If you ever wanna hang out more, I just got released from the Medicine den to work out my wounds." The she-cat said, tilting her head. "Would you want to?" DreamingBloom asked hopefully.

Hawkbite's ears perked the most at Dawnstar's last announcement. His green hues brightened as he turned to search the crowd for the younger feline. He'd been summoned away, but hopefully he stuck around for this.
"Silverlark! Congrats!" The older Enforcer spoke, hoping the younger tom would hear his cheer. He was considerably excited for this.
Hawkgrowl's ears perked with interest when he heard the new enforcer ranks being open. However, as much as he would love to do that, it would make it harder for him to watch and care for his sister. He would do anything to protect her, but if he did this, it might make it harder to do so. Then again, maybe it'd make it easier...
Swampstream sighed, wishing he was young and fit again and could be an enforcer.
Gentlebloom purred, smiling. She watched her leader as she recovered from her injuries in the battle.
