Maplesong had been napping in the den. Her light sleep was disturbed by the sound of pawsteps. Her ears twitched as Nightwing entered, and she opened her eyes slightly. Lifting her head, she yawned and flicked her fluffy tail. Her green eyes locked onto the black tom with a curious look as she noticed him watching the other cats in the den.

"Ah, nothing," she said somewhat defensively. Maplesong yawned, turning away from the black cat. "You seem to be on edge is all." She decided it was not the best idea to complain about him waking her.

"No need to get your pelt in a twist! I only noticed cause you were sighing like a cat had died," Maplesong replied, her voice light and playful. The last thing she wanted was for the seemingly irritable tom to get angry.

Maplesong flicked her tail, thinking about how to proceed without further angering him. "Maybe you could try tiring yourself out, so you won't think about it anymore. After all who can think of much more than how much they'd like to be all curled up in their nest when they're exhausted? But perhaps it isn't a good idea to engage in battle practice if you're so angry," she hummed. "Maybe hunting is a better idea. Or a run?"

Maplesong simply stared at the tom for a moment, surprised at the offer, then let out a laugh. "Why not," she mewed. "I'm already awake, so I suppose! Just don't complain if I catch more prey than you." Her tone had turned back to the same playful sing song.
