Cottonpaw had to admit he was a tad relieved to know his nickname wasn’t a result of his clumsiness or inability. That felt refreshing. ”I d.d.d.do apologize f.f.f.for t.that, it w.w.was j.just n.n.nice to s.see you b.b.b.back.” He offered his signature sheepish smile then paused before he asked his next question. Unsure on how to proceed quite right. ”If y.y y.y y.ou ever wa..w.w.want to t.t.talk a.about it, I’m a.a.always h.e.e.ere. B.b.b.b.but p.p.p.please t.t.tell me to b.b.b.buzz off i.i.if it's n.n.n.not m.m.m.my p.place.” The words themselves felt awkward but his stuttering tone shone sincerely. He wanted to be there for her in whatever way he possibly could.

"No, don't 'pologize! You were th' first cat to seem happy I came home. That means'lot." Owlpaw purred in amusement. Perhaps it was a childish innocence, or perhaps it was simply too much to handle at the moment. Now that she thought about it, nobody had mentioned such a thing to her before. Someone offering confidance. If she needed to talk, let him know? What a strange thing to say. She recalled a faint memory of her early kithood. "Call me if you need help! You got this, Aubby." Her sister (what on earth was her name?) had mewed cheerfully. It was with finding the feather sister had hidden. she didn't recall if she'd found it or not. Oh, well. Talk about what? OH! Coming home. Right. "Was real scary. Dyin' was awful. That's why 'm so happy Y're still here. N' Pl- Lightningstorm saved y'."

Emberpaw sniffled. O-ok. She mewed. Thanks Owlpaw. Maybe I should go and give my new mentor a chance, huh? She could be really nice. Ember stood up, and slowly padded out of the den. She waved at Owlpaw before leaving. See you later.

YEAAH!! SUCCESS! Owlpaw smiled broadly in an overwhelming sense of joyful satisfaction. "Bye, Em! Give it y'r best shot!" She said, waving one paw in a friendly wave goodbye.

Cottonpaw’s nose twitched with a buzz of happiness as Owlpaw proclaimed he didn’t have to apologise for his actions. It truly was good to see her alive and well, far too many cats went unwittingly missing or simply never returned. But Starclan must have been in her favour that day, truly.
”I.I’m g.g.glad to b.b.be alive, s.s.s.s.she h.helped a lo.lot.” Cottonpaw paused before he debated asking his next question but his curiosity overwhelmed him. ”D.d.did y.you m.meet S.s.starc.clan? Helped a lot? Well, Owlpaw could agree. Plant Whisp'rer was the most helpful cat she'd ever met, no doubt about it! She felt a sharp pain in her heart, but couldn't put her claw quite on it when Bumble asked her about StarClan. "Mhm." She said simply, pausing in thought. The pain was intense, though she understood it was only mental agony. "Well... Didn't see 'ny of my fam'ly. I was born outsider, too. Sorry. Didn't.. know what I was looking for. Kinda jus' lived like a normal cat would, but talked a loooot to a loooot of cats. T' come back down I had t' face a scary council, but they were act'lly kinda nice! Even the dark forest ones. This one kitten, Dewkit, she said'm havin' th' heart of a pr'tector! I bet you do, too. Silverfox was so cool. Oh! But there was a grumpy dark forest cat. He still said I should come back, though! So all three were pr't'y cool." She finished, not really knowing what detail to go into.
"Th'... th' scariest part was th' coming back." The mottled ginger felt the den grow cold all of the sudden, and a visible shudder ran through her shoulder blades. "Buried. Couldn't breathe. Dirt. Like I w's... dead. Real bad." There was a glimpse of a haunting terror behind sea green-blue irises, a crack in her confident persona. On the outside, the shallow part, she always felt good. For the most part, anyhow. But in the pit of her gut, in the shadowed corner of her mind, lie a terror. An intense fear of the deathly shadows of her grave, hauntingly real. They seemed to be an impossible memory, to die and revive, but it wasn't. It was real.

Cottonpaw’s eyes widened as he listened to Owlpaw’s words. It felt somewhat comforting to know he wasn’t the only cat outsider born. Particularly when he had felt alone in the fact for a considerable length of time. He was surprised to know that it was sort of like living life normally for her, that wasn’t something he’d expected. Of course he knew Starclan was a clan like Windclan was, but he’d presumed it would be more mystical than the day-to-day.
The council intrigued him, he wanted badly to ask about it but he held his tongue to instead comfort her. Owlpaw’s body language clearly shifted and tightened as each word left her maw. What she described and what Cottonpaw saw in her eyes was frankly terrifying. Being buried and not breathing. A shudder ran up his spine. ”T.t.t.t.that s.sounds l.l.like s.something a.a.awful O.Owlp.paw, I h.h.h.hope i.it's n.n.not as p.painful in t.t.t.time.” He paused considering his next words. ”P.p.perhaps i.i.if time c.can h.h.h.h.heal b.b.b.b.b.broken b.bones, m.m.m.maybe it can heal a.a.a.a t.t.troubled m.m.mind t.t.too?” He let out a small sigh and leaned his nose forward to touch Owlpaw’s own.

Forestpaw was in the apprentice's den, for he just woke up for the day. His mentor didn't have him do anything for the dawn morning. He was bored now. He stretched and his ears twitched, then he yawned. He saw Cardinalpaw and wanted to try to strike up conversation with him. "Hey, Cardinalpaw." he said grogily. He didn't have any thoughts at the moment, he was too tired from waking up to think about anything currently.

Ugh. Why was he awake? It was cold. Cardinalpaw draped his fluffy tail over his nose, his bi-colored eyes focused outside the den, his ears twitching. The apprentice drifted his gaze over as he spotted movement across the den. Ugh..stars above. The older apprentice removed his tail from his nose. Why was this cat speaking to him at this early ass time. He sniffed, rolling his eyes. Don't snap at him. Just a greeting. "Hello, Forestpaw" Cardinalpaw said, forcing the coldness out of his tone. "Is there something you need?" Cardinalpaw asked, giving the tom an admittedly aggressive once over.

Forestpaw understood it was cold and early in the day, he was still tired himself but once he was awake, he was up for the rest of the day. Forestpaw stretched and gives Cardinalpaw an amused look. "I don't need anything, I'm just bored that's all..." he said containing his cold feeling inside. "Sorry if I woke you up" he said with genuine concern.

Cardinalpaw hummed, trying to keep himself as small as possible to preserve warmth. Though, with his long limbs, that was proving to be a small challenge. He snorted. 16- no..17? How old was he..??? Anyways, he was around that age and still in the apprentice den. Really, it felt odd being around the younger cats. None of them were too much younger, besides the bunch that were. Plus, Cedarpaw was in the den with him, so it wasn't that bad. Not that Cedarpaw would've changed how he felt about being an apprentice, of course not that- ugh. Anyways, his mind was drifting. Cardinalpaw's ear flicked at Forestpaw's words. "Nah, you didn't wake me. 'Was already awake." They said slowly as they blinked at the younger cat.

Forestpaw's ear twitched "Ah, good I was worried about that." he said relieved. "I honestly thought I was gonna get snapped at because I'm a way younger apprentice" he laughs. Forestpaw felt like he was gonna have a good time with this fellow apprentice at some point in their meeting. "So, how are you doing?" he asked curiously.
