Cardinalpaw jumped at Twilightstar yelling, his bi-colored eyes turning from Jaggedpaw to Twilightstar. The apprentice flattened his ears at the leader, and walked over to her, turning to show her their shoulder per Twilightstar’s request. Cardinalpaw shot a silent glare towards Jaggedpaw, his tail lashing. But he remained silent. Like a decent cat. Didn't try to gnaw his shoulder off? Yeah right. Cardinalpaw watched Cedarpaw practically run away, looking after the tom with a very brief sense of concern for him.

Twilightstar leaned down and sniffed at the tom's bloody shoulder. It didn't look great, the blood had welled up so she couldn't see it clearly, but she bet she could see the individual teeth marks once it was cleaned up. She wasn't Lightningstorm, so she couldn't tell if he'd have lasting damage, but at least he hadn't lost a chunk of his shoulder.

"Go see Lightningstorm." She orders, despite her desire to keep him here for questioning. She could come drop by the medicine den after she was done with Jaggedpaw. "I'll be speaking with you later." She told him.

"Starlingpaw, you're forgiven this once, do not let your emotions get the better of you again. A good warrior can control themselves, especially in front of their clan leader. You'll be staying home from the next Gathering for adding to the trouble." Even though she understood him, a light yet firm punishment still needed to be given. As much as she wanted to settle on a demotion, she knew better than to pick such a harsh punishment when he had been trying to help in his own way.

"Go help Cardinalpaw to the medicine den," She demanded Starlingpaw with a lash of her tail. Cardinalpaw shouldn't be putting much weight on his shoulder till it is assessed and tended to. Starlingpaw could let the other apprentice lean on him on the way to the den.

"Jaggedpaw, explain to me what happened from the beginning." She'd turned to give the apprentice her full attention. Twilightstar's always given her cats a fair chance to explain themselves before passing judgment or punishment upon them. Even though Jaggedpaw and his siblings had a bad reputation for biting, she wouldn't make blind assumptions here. However, after this, it might be a good idea to find Snowybreeze and get him to talk to his kits about their biting habits. She didn't like stressing the already severely self-conscious and insecure warrior out, but she couldn't have this happening again.

Starlingpaw bowed his head, nodding. "It won' 'appen 'gain ma'am. 'm gon' work on it." Starling nodded, looking at acrdinalpaw and helping him to the med den- although he left cardinal there after a bit go check on his brother.

Starling found his litter brother huddled in the clearing, blinking slowly he padded over, tail wrapping around Cedar's body. "what's wrong Ceda'?" He asked softly, nuzzling his brothers head.

Cedarpaw was shooken out of his spiral by a familer scent, his brother coming over and nuzzling his head. He had to focus a little to understand what Starling was saying, but he needed to know that Starling didn't actually hate him.

What's wrong? he had asked. How was Cedar going to explain that everything was wrong and loud?

"M-My head is too l-loud," he muttered, squeezing his eyes tight before opening them. Starling would help make things beter.

Starling nodded, gently using a paw to hold up his brothers chin, bright sapphire blue eyes staring intently at him. "Look a' me cedar.. take deep breaths m'kay? big inhale.. big exhale.." Starling did an example, inhaling deeply and exhaling the same, those intense blue eyes looking softly at his brother. This was his only biological family left, and he wasn't gonna let anything happen to his baby brother.

He would burn the forest for cedar. The larger brother gently nuzzled his brothers head, keeping him anchored.

Songpaw blinked in surprise when Cedarpaw...simply took off. As though she were some terrifying badger. Am I...perhaps too pushy? Now it was Cedarpaw and Freeze that seemed to hate her! Stars above! She let out some kind of distressed squeaking whimpering noise, walking a little ways further from the whole thing and plopping down by the apprentice's den. Stars she was exhausted. Out of concern for Cedarpaw she looked up to see where he was, and saw that Starlingpaw was with him. Good. She exhaled a breath of relief, glad to see that Cedarpaw was taken care of and Stars wasn't in too much trouble. But she took note of it too, because she'd have to make sure that Starlingpaw was taking care of himself too.

For now, she'd leave the brothers alone. They needed their time together. She laid down in a sunny spot, resting her head in-between her paws. Seemed as good a time for a little sun-bathing as any. Songpaw closed her eyes peacefully, taking deep breaths as she took a moment to relax after...all of that.

Cedarpaw breathed with Starling, feeling his bad thoughts slowly go away. He loved his brother so so much and he felt bad for ever thinking Stars hated him. That would never happen. He gazed into his brothers eyes, seeing the love reflected back at him.

Jaggedpaw waited as Twighlightstar addressed the others first, he had never been patient before. The concept was still hard for him to grasp and now with the added stress of waiting to hear his punishment- it just made it worse. The apprentice couldn't stand still, he pawed at the ground, shifted constantly. All until the leader looked back at him and asked him to start from the beginning. From the beginning? What had his reason to look for Cardinalpaw been- to get Gnawingpaws rightful name back. He hadn't anticipated nor planned for it to go into this. Actually he wasn't sure exactly what he had expected to happen. If had just stopped and thought for a moment before confronting Cardinalpaw maybe he would have realized the tom would just surrender his name so quickly and easily. Oh. Uh….

“oh um, so I approached Cardinalpaw and basically told him I wanted his name to change so that my sister could have her name back. Since it's important and stuff and she's been a bit not right? Recently. Thought it would help… Cardinalpaw reacted way more hostile than necessary really and shouted at me. Naturally I shouted back because I wasn't going to take being talked down to lightly!” The memories of what the other tom had said replayed in Jaggedpaw's mind and he felt his previous anger start to return. The russet had been so infuriating, it's not Jaggedpaw had even done anything to cause such an outburst! He'd even smiled when he approached! ”Anyway, we argued for a little bit and then he outright hit me so I bit him back!” Cardinalpaw had turned it into a fight and now he was crying about it, it's not Jaggedpaws fault the older apprentice can't take a hit in return. He didn't like how he was being pinned as the solely wrong one in this situation. Cardinalpaw insulted him so insulted back, cardinalpaw hit him so he bit him back! Consequences of actions. Surely Twighlightstar would understand that right?

” I wasn't even trying to bite his shoulder off, he was just being dramatic! He made it a fight. I wasn't intending on it turning into this.” he insisted. He needed Miss Twighlightstar to understand, he needed her to know that he wasn't some lunatic that attacked his clanmates for a while. That hadn't even been an attack really. If it had been Jaggedpaw would have done way more damage than a simple bite!

Ignoring Starlingpaw's venomous words, because truly Strawberrypaw had no care for anything besides her siblings and father at this very moment, the fluffy apprentice immediately stepped up to Jaggedpaw's side to nose at his pelt, sniffing him over for any lasting injuries. Not so she could note down to exact vengeance somehow, of course. Noo... part of her was aware such a deed would have consequences, but if her brother were exiled she would never forgive the wrongdoers.

Once satisfied that Jaggedpaw was not hurt, the elder sister turned to press against his side, bushy tail coiling around her leg to keep from wrapping around his flank. He would be okay, and though anger rose swift at her brother's recollection of what had gone down to Twilightstar - stars he was an idiot for letting his temper get the best of him, she'd have to pay closer attention to both Jags and Frosty and force it through their thick skulls that violence would get them all kicked out - she remained unmoving. If they weren't able to stay in WindClan, Seedpaw would have no one to come back to when she did.

Her and... Dina Gnawingpaw hadn't been doing so well either lately. Maybe Jags was right. None of them had been okay since that ceremony, worse still after Seedpaw's disappearance, and though they all slept in the same nest together, Strawberrypaw had never felt such discordance in their familial bond.
