Ah, after a short while, there came running the first little one. A smile spread across the queen's maw as she saw the youngling come up behind her. With a swoosh of her tail, as she turned around to sit on the floor, she offered the child to do the same, to make herself comfortable and settle down. Nightshiver looked over the kit's shoulder for a few moments to see if Morningkit had been following too, but even after a while, there was no sign of the kitten. Ah, well. Some kittens were a little late to their lessons, or perhaps Morningkit was still napping... The young forever didn't mind too much, she could always give Morningkit the lesson another time.
"It seems... it's... just us... today"
Eyes turning on the young one that did come, Nightshiver offered a gentle smile as she leaned down just a little. Sunsetthorn's kit... It still felt so odd, unsure of the child's name; it felt so distant. Ah but who was she to comment on that? Inquire she might, no answers would come now. She ought to focus on the lesson rather than another's misfortune, as much as it broke her heart.
"Hm, tell... me. Have you... heard about... the great... Ice.. star, before?"
She glanced around the den, feigning speaking of a great secret or some mysterious former leader. She'd been trying to make these lessons a little more fun for the kittens, so perhaps adding a little more interaction, questions and mystery to it might do the job... However she was supposed to do that, at least. Nightshiver was still learning how to best go about these lessons. "Moons... ago, she was... ShadowClan's... leader. Chosen by.. StarClan, alongside... Crowtail, after ShadowClan... had been... left... in shambles. It was... up to them... to help... the clan back... up to... its feet."
Harekit smiled shyly, Nightshiver? He liked that name and he liked this cat she seemed to be nice "Y-yes I'm Harekit" he said quietly nodding "M-my mama's Duststorm" he mewed mabye this cat knew her.
Seeing the little kitten smile shyly, a little part of her melted. Nightshiver returned the smile with a gentle one, eyes lightly squinting. Duststorm was his mother, hm? The white feline wasn't too familiar with the she-cat, other than that she'd had her kittens not that long ago, and that she seemed like a kind queen. "It is... nice to.. meet.. you, Harekit."
Nightshiver responded firstly, "Dust..strom is... nice... isn't she? My.. mama's name... was Fawn..petal. She was... very kind."

Ah clearly the apprentice-aged kitten was in a foul mood and the forever queen was intruding. A bit of an awkward expression washed over her features for a moment, but she swiftly brushed it aside in favour of a friendly smile. She'd gotten herself into this, and suddenly leaving was rather awkward... If anything she could offer a bit of company or distraction if Rosekit so wished, and otherwise, it would simply be a silent sitting party. That was fine too. Pulling an old nest her way, Nightshiver began occupying herself by carefully fixing what was broken and removing some stray sticks and debris that got in due to use. If Rosekit wanted to join in then that would be welcomed in kind -- it might set a good example, too, and show responsibility. Though she'd never force anyone to.
Harekit's smile grew slightly wider at Nightshiver's words though still shy "Y-yes Mama is very nice" he agreed he loved Duststorm and wanted to be just like her "C-can I m-meet her?" Nightshiver's mama sounded nice too like the queen herself.
A small crease of confusion crossed Mousepaw's face as his little sister fumbled her words. Gran? Who was gran? He supposed Miss Ivy was Cougarivy, which granted... needed to be treated civilly due to her being the head enforcer, but with her being Elmshadow's mate, he would rather little not-Sunsetkit not be so familiar with her at such a young age. Not only that but... what had that molly talked to his little sister about? The enforcer barely acknowledged the fact that her own kits existed. What was she doing getting so close to his family while she was too busy ignoring hers?
Before the muscular tom could inquire as to what exactly the kit had meant, his face broke into a grin, chortles escaping him. "No no no, silly silly. Ah-oonts and Un-kels. Well... only one uncle, I guess. But yes yes, you have many many! See, see? Each feather is one! Look, look! This one is your Auntie Shader," the apprentice happily chirped, pawing at one of the black and white feathers with his foot, careful to not damage it. "Auntie Shader is... super duper cool. The opposite of uncool, yeah? Yes! She is super sneaky, just like Moomoo. And and, she is super caring. But like... in her own way. She will always be making sure you don't get hurt, and if you are ever lonely, you can go be with her. She will listen to you and help, mmhmmm."
Gathering up the feathers as he guided the gray and white molly towards their nest, he quickly deposited them with the missing black and white one that had flown away. Grinning happily, he pawed at it, gathering it towards the rest. "You see this one? This one? This one is Auntie Starry. She was originally not a sister, nope. Because! Because. Aunties and uncles are usually your parent's littermates. I say usually, because you can also find aunties and uncles, I think. Auntie Larky is my auntie, but but, she would be your grandauntie instead, mmmhmm. But! But! This is about your Auntie Starry, yes yes. Now, Auntie Starry is super fun. And she packs a mean right paw. If you want to ever learn how to fight, you call on your Auntie Starry. Her strikes definitely make you see stars."
"And this one? This one is Auntie Seedling, oh yes! Auntie Seedling is super fun, mmhmm. She likes to act suspicious and be extra chaotic, but I heard she tells the best stories. I haven't spoken a lot to her... I don't think she likes me too much, heh heh," the tom purred, remembering the day him and Spirited voted Seedling out of the impostor game hosted by Cougarivy. "That's okay though, that's okay! I am sure she will love you even if she is still angry with me... or forgot I exist. That could be it too, mmhmm."
Finally, Mousepaw turned to the last two feathers. A beautiful black feather with white splotches and a fine, delicate, solid gray. Gently touching the black and white feather to call attention to it, he continued his explanation. It was very important for his sister to know! Just how much family she had. So she could ignore those who might try to sneak their way into her life with nothing but bad intentions at heart. Like Elmshadow. Or... potentially Cougarivy. He still needed to learn what the enforcer had been doing with the young kit. But all in due time, of course! There were more important things to take care of now!
"This one? This one is your uncle Pippaw, or just Uncle Pip! Now, Uncle Pip is kinda quiet. But you know what he likes? He likes big hugs! So next time you see him, you have to give him a big hug! He is super brave, and even survived a dangerous battle against scary scary dogs. But he is also really, really smart, and he will tell you that you shouldn't go out of camp alone, in case those same dogs are still out there, okay? So no trying to be super brave," Mousepaw warned, giving not-Sunsetkit a meaningful look. He would not have his sister rushing out with something to prove. She had nothing to prove to anyone, hmph!
Finally, there was only one feather left. The solid gray. The one Shader had told him was him. The one that let him know that Shader saw him and not Elmshadow despite their near identical looks. Despite the scars he now sported which mirrored some of his grandfather's more closely than he would have liked. The one that let him know that maybe it was okay for him to belong among the rest and not just as a far off shadow away from them.
"And this one? This one is your Moomoo. You have to keep us all close, okay? Because! Because. With these feathers, we will always be with you, yeah? Your Aunties Shader, Starry, and Seedling. Your Uncle Pip. And your Moomoo. Because! Because. We all love you, and we are here for you. We are your family, yes?" the apprentice finished, dipping his head as he attempted to give the kit an affectionate lick between the ears.
The white forever queen's movements were perplexing and interesting to the young kit but she didn't dwell on it as she followed Miss Shiver's lead and made herself comfortable even as her tail twitched behind her. She both liked and disliked being the only kit present. One on one time with the nice forever queen was exciting but she also wanted to meet more of the kits she shared the big nursery with. Oh well. Her ear twitched, her head cocking, as Miss Shiver asked about Icestar. "Another Miss Star?!" she muttered. Oh, this would pose a problem, indeed. She was sure she'd never heard of this other Star before, even with her seeming inability to keep any names straight at all, no she was sure she'd have remembered another Miss Star. She shook her head quickly, her pale blue eyes wide as she watched Miss Shiver's conspiratorial tone shift. "Leader? Before Miss Star!" She couldn't explain her previous reasoning but it astounded her that there was anything before Miss Star, Shadowclan and Miss Star just seemed to be one in the same. It was even more jaw dropping that Shadowclan had once been in shambles, whatever that meant. She figured they weren't in them anymore by the way Miss Shiver explained it. "What are shambles? And how does a whole clan fit in them?" Imagining something so big that the whole clan could fit inside, something clearly not good, was daunting.

A low grumble was quick to escape the young feline as she dramatically rubbed her head within the midst of her sleep, waking up slowly to a voice telling her to wake up. “But I wanna sleep…” she complained, groggily opening and shutting her eye-lids as she focused sincerely on the figure in front of her, only to quickly pipe up when she was quick to realize that it was no other than Larkfire, one of the current Enforcers in the clan. “L-Larkfire!” She squeaked, excitedly scrambling up onto all fours as she eagerly looked at the older molly, tail swishing side-by-side eagerly. Where were they gonna go? Were they gonna go out for a nightly stroll? That sounded exciting! Whatever it was, she was well-prepared for it.
Larkfire exhaled softly, pasting a smile on her face as she addressed the two youngsters. "You two are of the older lot." She began, giving them both once-overs as they arrived on time. Waiting a beat, Larkfire leaned down to level them with a stern look. "Can you be responsible enough to be taken outside camp?" She asked, scrutinizing the pair. "Until now, I've held off taking kits out of camp after a disastrous event where one kit thought it was a good idea to take off on their own and go missing."
Amber hues flashed with the memory. Hazelkit, Mousepaw's brother. Gone missing, even under hers, Shadowfur's, and Mirehound's watchful gaze. Kits. Reminded her of her own mother. Perhaps that was why Fablespinner despised Lark as a kit so much.

The blind kitten was sitting at the nursery, head aimed down to her paws… The silver and black kitten looked sad… Maybe that was because of the glazed look in her eyes…
Yellow hues gleamed eagerly in anticipation as Larkfire studied her and Ruekit, a deep, rumbling purr echoing deep in the six moon old’s chest as the Enforcer spoke to them. Of course she was one of the oldest of the kits within the nursery! She was already six moons old, bound to turn seven here soon. That wasn’t what Ravenkit was focused on though: it was for the mentioning of Larkfire taking her and Ruekit out of camp. In the dark. That was definitely exciting, clearly seen by the mottled feline’s paws excitedly tapping against the ground, her body jittering in anticipation as yellow hues stared eagerly up at Larkfire. She was more than responsible. She was ready to take on the world at its heels, no matter the costs. “Yes, ma’am! I was born ready to go out of camp! I can’t wait to go out there and see everything.” she yammered, not really bothering much to control the mere volume in her voice as she showed her excitement for the mere lesson. She simply just couldn’t wait to become an apprentice soon.
