With a heavy sigh, Froglight slid out of the nursery. It was always crowded in there, apparently, and he was glad for an excuse to leave and get some personal space back.

The tabico made a beeline for the fresh-kill pile and started digging through it. Most everything seemed to be fairly fresh... he'd just have to be sure to avoid the stuff at the bottom. Her claws hooked a mouse more on the skinny side and she carried it over to a secluded part of camp before settling down with another sigh.

Sorrelkit, Sugarkit and Daintypaw all chilled around camp.

|| Pine'Kit rushed out of the nursery as she heard someone screech for ShadowClan. Who was this big scary cat? She smelt.. hungry? No.. Powerful! Yes, that one! Pine'Kits eyes went wide as they sat down, their skinny tail swaying as they stared at the muscular.. She-Cat? yeah, like Mama!

This must be the leader..! Pine'Kit thought, her eyes going wide with admiration. Pine'Kit had been born while the leader was away, but she had heard Big Talk about a cat named.. Day'Star? No, no.. Dawn'Star!

"Yay! You're back!"

She cheered, her happy demeanour quickly turning sad as Dawn'Star was leaving again. WindClan? What was that? Is it super windy?

"Stupid Wind-Whatever, taking away the leader!"

Pine'Kit hissed, digging her small paws in to the earth as Dawn'Star stalked off. Pine'Kit wanted to follow the big cats so badly but... She was still only a Tiny and had to wait to be a Big Cat... ||

A white she-cat with black and brown spots sat next to her. "The leader's leaving again? Huff, it seems she never stays for long, right?" She looked over at the kit next to her, her blue and green eyes shining."This time she suspects WindClan's stealing prey so she's going off to confront her." Willowkit wrapped her tail around her paws. "Well, I'm Willowkit! Nice to meet you! What's you name?" She asked with a friendly smile.

Sunrise poured into camp, limning the surrounding evergreens in bright gold and chasing morning fog from the ground. Without a mentor, Hornetpaw had no reason to wake up early… yet he found himself rolling out of his nest to enjoy the dawn anyway, stretching with a long yawn as he trotted outside. He deeply inhaled the wonderful scents of home: pine needles and fresh earth, dew shivering on leaves, sweet sap, the familiar medley of ShadowClan cats. Centipedepaw had already gone off with Icysnake to train, leaving Hornet alone. So what would the dark ginger tom do?

Whatever he wanted, apparently.

Another yawn curled from his muzzle while he trotted to the fresh kill pile for breakfast. A few cats he recognized darted about, awake and busy; the apprentice tried not to catch anybody eye, wishing to avoid too much activity. On any other day, Hornetpaw would be running back and forth to stave off boredom--but there were only so many times he could bring fresh bedding to the elders' den before it got old, forgive the pun. He tried to hunt, but those attempts often failed when he lacked someone to teach him proper technique. He could ask if any patrols needed an extra body… but the last one he'd gone on ended with them confronting a group of ThunderClan cowards. Would it be so wrong to enjoy a day off? Was it Hornet's fault he lacked a mentor to keep him in line? To lift his motivation?

He chose a fat mouse from the communal pile and swaggered away, posture loose and lackadaisical. He'd resolved to eat somewhere private…

When he nearly ran into a tabico eating by herself on the edge of camp. Froglight, if Hornetpaw recalled. What was he doing by herself all the way over here?

"You feeling okay?" asked the flame-pelted tom in response to Froglight's sigh, dropping his mouse and raising a brow. "That mouse looks kinda lame… we can switch, if ya want."
