He bit his tongue as Poppytail worked on a Matt particularly close to his skin. Keeping his body still, as to not show that it hurt. He'd always struggled to reach that section, it was too far for him to reach.

“I try my best.” He remarked
“What have you been doing lately?” He asked. As much as the Tom didn't want to talk, the silence was even more awkward. Besides Aspenpaw wasn't in the mood to get insulted over his pelt.

^ Poppy'Tail continued grooming the apprentices fur, licking gently around some of the scraggly matts that seemed to not come out easily. Poppy'Tail had the strongest urge to pull the ball of tangle fur right off of Aspen'Paws back, but she didn't want to listen to the screaming and whining of an apprentice, so she fought the urge as if it was the bunnies that the ShadowClan patrol were defending their rightfully earned territory from.

"Hm, not much. How about you?"

Having nothing to say or gossip about, Poppy'Tail twisted the conversation back towards Aspen'Paw, as she didn't feel like talking, and wanted to focus on grooming. It was easier to absent-mindedly nod along to what a cat was saying rather then talk and chat about useless things. What did any of it matter?

"How's your training coming along?" ^

Sitting below one of the pine trees bordering the camp, Spiritfire ran her tongue over her chest fur, meticulously grooming her brilliant white coat. It took a lot of time to rid herself of dirt and leaf scraps after going out into the territory, but she didn't mind. Her grooming time was one of the few things she truly enjoyed.

As much as it hurt getting the matts out, it was extremely relieving to get rid of them. It took him hours to do so, yet it was happening in minutes here. As much as he loved his gorgeous, thick pelt, which was evident by how much time he put into it, it could be irritating

“It’s going well.” He answered. “Fierceclaw isn't a half-bad mentor”
He was cleaning his paw as he talked. Which slowed the speed of his voice.

“I’ve only had battle lessons so far, so no hunting for me yet.”
Even though it was kind of a complaint he didn't mind. Battle was enjoyable, he craved the rush of adrenaline that it gave. Hunting just didn’t seem to have that.
