Frostpaw nodded, not taking his eyes off Toadstripe. He knew that staying focused and being prepared went a long way to a good defense. As his mentor swiped, he swept his foreleg upward, but missed and Toadstripe's paw glanced off his shoulder. "I missed," he meowed unnecessarily. @ Fawnhearted

Frostpaw nodded, this time really concentrating on Toadstripe. He definitely didn't want to miss twice in a row. As his mentor's paw came down at him, he thrust his foreleg upwards, thrilled when they made contact. "I did it!" he exclaimed in excitement.

Toadstripe chuckled as the apprentice excitedly talked about his performance, "Remember kid, if we're in an actual battle house can't stop to celebrate moves landing, but that was very good!" The apprentice was doing very well, Toadstripe had wondered at first if it would be like training his kits, but Frostpaw obviously showed traits of being a good warrior.

Frostpaw blinked at him. "But, I did it!" he pointed out, dropping his paw. There was progress. He was beginning to see that battle training was a bit harder then he had anticipated, but not impossible. A little practice would certainly help. "Let's do something else!" He wanted to learn everything as quickly as possible.
