Re: Reaching Stones Valley
Yin clocks her head to the side. "Then why not refuse to go?" She says, genuinely curious. That always worked for her, at least. @ Kyrieknight

Galahad snorted. "It was either go with them, or stay with the dog. Besides, they let me roam until it's time to go home."

Re: Reaching Stones Valley
Forctux slowly walked between the stones, his claws scraping the ground. He hadn't been here more then a few times but he liked it, it was nice and quiet. He flicked the tip of his tail and looked around, maybe there was mice here?

Re: Reaching Stones Valley
Torro's nose twitched as he brought in the scents around him. The sharp scent of cut grass stung the back of his throat. He exhaled sharply, trying to dispell the strong smell before it watered his eyes. He glanced beside him where Tinker was walking a pace behind his shoulder.
He had scrambled over the fence in the late morning and perched himself atop the fence until the back door of the neighboring house slid open and Tinker jingled out, the sunlight hitting her pelt in a way that involuntarily took Torro's breath away. When she noticed him, he saw her change direction and leap easily to the top of the fence.
He had tried to present it as though he'd just thought of the idea, though he'd thought of it the night before and had anxiously awaited being able to see her the next day. He asked her if she'd want to take a walk down to Reaching Stone Valley with him.

Re: Reaching Stones Valley
Tinker padded lightly, following Torro's direction as he led her through a fence to a vast rolling green landscape dotted with odd-shaped stones. Every now and then her long pelt brushed against his. A slow purr started in her throat as the smell of mouse bathed her tongue.
She suddenly stopped and changed direction. She crouched low into the grass and, blue eyes wide, she stared down a root poking up from a nearby tree. A little brown mouse, young and naive she guessed, sat unaware of the dangers in its immediate surroundings. Her tail swished and the mouse's ears sprang up, alerted. She bounded fluidly to close the gap. The mouse turned to dart beneath the root but Tinker pounced and shot a paw out, gripping the mouse with a claw just before it disappeared.
She turned, the mouse dangling limply from her jaws, and smiled proudly back at Torro.

Re: Reaching Stones Valley
Torro sat down, folding his thin tail neatly over his paws. He purred as he looked at the young she-cat bursting with pride over her catch. "That was brilliant!" He praised.
Watching her, it crossed his mind that he could do just that all day. As she stalked the mouse he had a reasonable excuse to be watching her and only her.
"I used to catch mice all the time around my housefolks place when I was young...er...younger...when I first came home to them, not much more than a kit." He sighed, frustrated at his ineloquence. Dejectedly, he continued, "They don't come around much anymore so I don't get many chances now. Seems mice aren't quite as dumb as you'd think, huh?" Torro chuckled anxiously and swallowed hard. After a pause he mowed, "What're you going to do with it now? You ever eaten one?"

Re: Reaching Stones Valley
Tinker cocked her head to the side questioningly. Eaten a mouse?
She padded to Torro and dropped the limp mouse to the ground between them. "I guess that had never even crossed my mind to try. Does it taste good?"

Re: Reaching Stones Valley
Torro forced himself to hold Tinker's brilliant blue gaze as she stared into him. He nodded, more enthusiastically than he'd have preferred. He tried to redeem himself by measuring his voice as he responded, "Once you get past all the fur, it's delicious, especially warm."

Re: Reaching Stones Valley
Tinker laughed, oblivious to the turmoil happening within Torro. "You want to share it with me? It sounds like you've got experience with this." She eyed the fuzzy little heap sitting at her paws. "I'm not really sure where to even start."
She nudged the mouse towards Torro with a gentle paw, encouraging him to take the first bite.

Re: Reaching Stones Valley
His throat suddenly went dry. "I...sure...I'd be honored...I mean, thank you. A good hunter and generous. You've got it all."
He leaned down and took a tentative bite out of the mouse. He chewed slowly, savoring the warm juices. Then he sat back to let Tinker closer.
