Bluemoon watched the kit carefully. His head swiveled around, and he saw a large oak tree. Climb up that. He barked, his cold stare pointed straight into Goldenkit's eyes.

GoldenKit's eyes widened as they traveled up the tree. "I don't know how to climb trees." His paws quivered. I don't actually have to climb that... right? His leg still stung from the scratch and his breath caught in his throat. The golden kit glanced uncertainly at his dad. He wouldn't really make me climb that? His heart beat quickened " I can't climb that tree." This is just a joke... It has to be a joke. I'm to small to be able to climb a tree like that!

Fine. Bluemoon breathed, accepting the size of the small kit. Then climb that tree. He said, his tail flicking to a slightly smaller oak.

GoldenKit sighed and stepped up to the smaller tree. He dug his tiny claws into the ground bracing himself for the climb ahead. The tree was daunting but he had to do this. Hesitantly he placed his paws onto the tree. His claws gripping onto the oak. He slowly moved up. One paw after the other. It hurt his claws but he had to keep going he couldn't disappoint his dad. Eventually He reached the first low branch. He clung to it was the only thing between him and a kit eating fox. With his eyes tightly closed he took a deep breath. He has to keep going. His eyes surveyed the journey ahead of him. I have to do this. He moved back onto the tree. Paw after paw. After a good minute he reached the top branch. "I made it!" He looked down at his father and smiled. I did it! His confidence soared.

Bluemoon had to admit, that was impressive. He felt a small tinge of pride surge through him, and he had to say something positive to Goldenkit about that climb. Well done. He managed to say. He meant it, but his eye twitched a little as he said it. Bluemoon forced a small purr, his head held low.

GoldenKit couldn't believe it. That was praise! His heart fluttered. Now he just had to get down. That'd be easy. He looked down and the happiness drained from him. How was he supposed to get down? He started to panic. What do I do? He looked down at his dad. Do I call for help? No I can't do that I have to do this. He reached his paw out. Before he could get a good grip on the oak the branch made a loud crack. To his horror he started to fall. He stretched out his legs hoping to reach anything and stop his plummet. Am I going to die like this Before he hit the ground his paws caught another branch and stopped his descent.

Bluemoon's gray-blue eyes flickered in surprise. The kit hadn't fallen all the way! Keep coming down! He said, his voice a mix of angry and encouraging. All cats land on four paws. He added under his breath.

GoldenKit paused on the branch he had landed on taking in a couple of breaths. He glanced down at his father. His tiny paws gripped the tree. I have to keep going. He took a deep breath in and began his descent. His paws shook a little as he climbed but he made sure to get down safely. "I did it." the golden kit looked down at his paws.

Okay. Bluemoon looked down at the little kit, his mind scrambling for other tasks that might trouble him. He picked up some moss, rolling it into a ball. Bluemoon threw it into a thorn bush and said, I need you to go get the mossball. He forced a smile.

GoldenKit watched the ball roll into the bramble bush. His legs were sore after the fall. This might hurt. He trotted over to the bush. His eyes searching for the easiest way through. The kit's muscles tensed and he stepped forward into the thick brambles. they scratched at his coat taking chunks of fur with them. He squinted his eyes trying not to scratch them. It was slow going through the bramble bush but thankfully the moss ball didn't roll to far. His small paws reached out and grabbed it. It was close enough for his claws to hook onto it "Yes, I got it" He tried to look back at his father but a bramble was tangled in his ear. Should I call for help? He tried to pull his ear free but it was stuck."I'm stuck." He was hesitant to tell his father but what else could he do.
