A mock battle training session? Springpaw’s head popped up at the mention of Bumblestar calling out for cats to gather for a mock battle training session, only for Springpaw to physically grimace at the thought. It would do some good for her to participate in this since it would help her strengthen her skills in combat, since the last time she had tried that… she almost got herself killed by a ShadowClan rat. The memory itself almost made her fur bristle among her shoulders from the fear that loomed itself over her shoulders. Even if it had been so long ago since she gained the injury, it still hurt like absolute hell to think about it. Either way, it was better for her to join the event. If she didn’t, then her skills would remain as empty as a prey pile without any prey.

Fernwillow padded over to the group, her curiosity getting the better of her. She supposed getting a refresher on some battle techniques would help her not only as a warrior, and as a mentor.

The tom made his way towards the group. Unable to decide if he would just walk away and let them fight, or if he wanted to participate in this mock battle. Maybe it was a hint of competativeness that sparked his motivation, but here he was. Hanging around more towards the back as the others flocked and gossiped to one another.

Truly a hivemind. Straight out of a horror show, if you will.

This was a much better turn-out than Bumblestar had been expecting. A good chunk of the Clan, half of them apprentices - this was fantastic. “Right then, we’re heading out. Follow me, Cove’s big enough for this.” Any late stragglers could catch up, sorting for them could be figured out later.

Bumblestar led the group out of camp, straight to Firefly Cove, where she gave the land a brief survey to check for intruders before looking back to her cats. “This’ll be a two team mock battle, to work on teamwork ‘n improve our skills. I want claws sheathed. This isn’t supposed to be brutal, we’re just workin’ on things. No blood drawn, no bones broken. If I see any serious injuries, you’re out of the fight ‘n we’re havin’ a talk after.”

“On the ThunderClan team, I want Redhawk, Sunleap, Miremallow, Asterwish, Sharpclaw, Drizzlenight, Feathernose, Fawnsplash, Lightningpaw, Dogpaw, Robinpaw, Mushroompaw, Silverpaw, Leafpaw, Daylightpaw, Forestpaw, Wolfpaw, ‘n myself. We’ll head to the cliffside area.

“RiverClan team’ll be Reedhsine, Silverstorm, Riverpool, Eggbite, Willowstripes, Ghostglow, Beetlewing, Fernwillow, Skypaw, Beetlepaw, Sheeppaw, Fallingpaw, Plumpaw, Featherpaw, Nightpaw, Cherrypaw, Treepaw, Springpaw, ‘n Spiderthroat. You’ll take the opposite side of the Cove.

“If you’re fighting an apprentice lackin’ training, I want you to be teachin’ ‘em as you go. For those of you who haven’t had a single session, start off with a front paw blow ‘n go from there. Take your forepaw ‘n target the head, face, or shoulder to knock your opponent off-balance.”

A long-winded explanation, but necessary so there was less of a chance of slip-ups. “Get with your teams ‘n let’s get started.”

Not seeing her apprentice anywhere to join, Redhawk frowned. Perhaps she'd find them after and see about teaching her what was learned, but for now her dark paws set out after Bumblestar as their leader directed the large group out towards the cove.

Named on the ThunderClan team, Red couldn't help but puff out her chest a little. They had a great round up - Bumblestar and Wolfpaw were here, as well as Sharpclaw and Daylightpaw. "We're definitely going t-to win with t-this group," she purred as she headed towards the cliffside area. Yellow-green eyes glowed with anticipation as she gave herself a stretch to ready her muscles, looking over to await the rest of the group.

Fernwillow frowned when she heard her name being called for the RiverClan group. Did she really have to be one of those fishmongers? Well, she supposed someone had to! Fernwillow scanned the opposing team, kneading the ground with anxious excitement. There were a few cats she thought would be interesting to partner up with, though she was certain everyone would by vying for those cats' attention. This was so exciting! She would get to see her clanmates' battle strategies in a way that meant she could actually learn them!

Feathernose scanned the crowd, her pupils dilating. Why in StarClan was there a million apprentices here? She hoped that they would be properly watched out for, since Feather couldn't very well split herself into two and follow the other group to stick her neck out for them apprentices. She sighed inwardly, tail flicking. None of the 'paws better get hurt, or she'd bring down all hell upon the perpetrator if they couldn't give a good reason. She padded after Bumblestar, watching over her shoulder as the other group grew further and further away...

Ugh. He'd didn't think he'd have to walk so far for this event. To late to back out now though. Sharpclaw trailed after the rest of the group, pulling himself along in slow, uneven steps. When they finally arrived at Firefly Cove he nearly buckled, taking the chance to sit down as soon as it came up. He wasn't used to walking such distances anymore, not after spending so many moons in his nest. 'You get what you deserve.'

Bumblestar announced the teams, and Sharpclaw begrudingly stood and went to join them. Redhawk, a she-cat he was unfamiliar with, purred as she walked up and voiced her cheerful optimism to the group. The world had lost it's rosy-tint long ago for Sharpclaw, but he wouldn't strip it away from others if he could help it.

"I'm more interested in teaching, but whatever," He mewed dully. He had no doubts that his team would win, but not with any help from him. The least he could do was teach the opposing team how to fight, and more impotantly how to stay alive. That's what he came here for, and that's what'd give him some peace of mind.

Finally, Plumpaw was tired of waiting! Bumblestar began to lead them to Firefly Cove and Plumpaw followed, bobbing and weaving between slender legs and swishing tails as they traveled. Then came the dividing of teams. Plumpaw was placed with RiverClan, but that didn't bother him in the slightest. Someone had to play the bad guy and if it had to be Plumpaw then so be it. He'd be the biggest, meanest, sneakiest Riverclanner ever!

"Come on, RiverClan! Let's do this!" He called out to his teamates. The sooner everyone gathered the sooner they could start. It would probably be best to discuss a game-plan, but... nah it was more fun to figure things out as he went.
