Drained mentally and physically, Heather stood at her mother's call. "The river cats are gone, right? No more attacks?" She was getting discouraged at this point. Although she did trust her mother, the kit was struggling to see the bright side of things.

Heather's eyes widened when a kit began dancing around Falcondive, narrowing her ears on him with interest. "Fail...cone?" She parroted quietly, giving her mother and the hero-tom a puzzled look. "What does that mean?"

"That's what the nice tom said," Daintybird replied through a thin smile, her patience drained from their conditions. She looked forward to her nursery nest that she never did get to fully enjoy before the raid came, then had to scramble to this sorry mess of a den. When asked if there'd be more attacks, she sweetly and nonchalantly could only speculate, "I'm not sure, dear. RiverClan is a savage beast. We are but poor peaceful beings attempting to survive in this world, and here they threaten us with their teeth and claws, the monsters."

Daintybird was content to leave it there. She didn't know what a "fail cone" was either and didn't care, hadn't been listening. That twerp wasn't her problem.

Walking at the front, next to Falcondive, she glanced at him. He was so big compared to herself and kinda bloody too. Flicking her eyes forward again, she picked up her pace, turning her head back to Falcondive. "Don't worry I'll keep the group in sight!" She chirped, running ahead, looking back ever so often.

Owlfeather was startled awake when Falcondive called upon everyone in the barn. Rats, I fell asleep! she scolded herself, looking around frantically when she felt that Frozenkit had left her side. What a little ball of energy.

"Thank you, Falcondive," the elder nodded, keeping close to him as they left. Frozenkit seemed to know him. Perhaps she would have to ask about that. For now, she would focus on getting everybody home safely.

Falconkit was startled when he asked that. As a mate? What? She was only 6 moons old! Blackpaw was her best friend! She was slightly glad when Falcondive told him to stop. She didn’t like anyone like that yet.

Falconkit nodded and followed the warrior, queens, kits, and apprentices back to camp.

Blackpaw decided maybe some distance was best for now, You are an idiot you know that. Finally something we agree on. maybe he could hang out with Ashpaw more.
