Moonkit tilted her head to the side a bit. "But why? Why try to act casual? I don't care if they know I'm watching them. Although... if them knowing I'm watching them makes tyem change their behavior, that would be annoying. Not like Iike I frequent the playden though, so not a fat chance of that happening."

Scorchedkit’s amber gaze shifted to lock on Moonkit as
she spoke. If the black furred she-kit didn’t mind it if
others were watching her watch them, how could that
affect her own future? It would certainly confuse the
other cats in the den. The young tom’s narrowed eyes
unlocked on Moonkit and moved their way slowly to the
other cats in the den. Did he feel bad for them, being creepily
observed, possibly knowing? Well, no. But surely it was the
right thing to do to tell Moonkit that she was eavesdropping
wrong. Even Scorchedkit, the grumpy, anti-social, snappy
lump wouldn’t want cats feeling his sharp gaze grazing their
fur and skin as they played. He only grazed cats with his
eyes when he was speaking to them, Speaking of which…
he thought, and turned back to Moonkit, with that same cold
stare. “You really don’t care?” He grumbled, tone
hinting at disapproval despite the two kits being very close
to the same age. “Well, I’m not an expert at making
friends of course, but have you ever wondered EXACTLY
how watching your current and probably future denmates
like a creep will affect you in your upcoming future???”

He glanced up, face scrunching in concentration, as if
narrowing down the possibilities. He nodded, and looked
back at Moonkit. “Well, first, this would start off a bad
impression to your clanmates. If they see you staring at
them like that, naturally, they’ll get uncomfortable around
you, and what happens if you ever need help? Or have to
work with them in training, and they don’t want to be around
you because you’re kind of freaky to them? You want that,
huh?” He scoffed. He took a small step forward. “Just
think- it’s so much less socially awkward to hide the fact that
you’re watching them. Like, it ain’t that hard!” His tone
was now a bit accusing. The brown Tom stepped back and finally
released his sharp gaze from Moonkit to glance outside the
den. “Again… just saying!”

Moonkit hopped to her feet and followed after him. "So? I think I look pretty casual. Cats don't really notice me because I'm so small. And plus, I'll always have my siblings to help me in my times of need," she argued. She didn't like the adamant manner of Scorchedkit. Who was he, telling her what to do? Rubbish. "I'm not a complete recluse. I talk to the other kits and host many a pleasant interaction. I just don't want to commit to any particular group of friends. It's ever so much funner to just watch!" she said, letting out a contented sigh. Social circles... they were like entirely different worlds. But you get closedminded when you get attached to just one world. You can't fully understand and appreciate... the intricate systems taking place around you. The observer sees so much more than the participant.

Scorchedkit stood up and headed toward the exit, until he
heard Moonkit speak once again. He turned around, fixing
the black and white she-kit with a gaze that said saying
impatiently, “What is it?” Of course, she thought
she sounded pretty casual, but Scorchedkit disagreed. He
flashed her the biggest example of a smile he could ever manage
, with a slight chuckle. “Mhm, casual. Sitting around with
those eyes peeled over the other kits? Yeah, sure Moonkit, that
definitely sounds casual.” He snorted, whiskers twitching
in slight annoyance. Scorchedkit held onto the same slightly bored
but still ever so judging expression as Moonkit continued defending
herself, eyebrows lifted. Oh wait… you aren’t a complete recluse?
Well, I sure didn’t notice! He thought to himself as the she-kit
spoke about how she wasn’t a complete anti-social cat. Well… the tall
brown tom did have to agree with Moonkit when she mentioned not
wanting to live life committing so much precious time to some paw
full of fur-balls who always end up dragging you into some frustrating
situation. And those frustrating situations, it seems like Socrchedkit,
if he were really some cat’s companion, would have to wedge his way
through that situation despite how much he hated doing so just to help
his friend. It just seemed like a waste of time, something he didn’t care
to do.

But still; he was annoyed with Moonkit for not getting his point.
Surely it was so much more simple than they were both arguing
over? He shook his head, and grumbled, “Again, just my advice-
my useful advice. You should really take it, is it so hard to
look like you aren’t stalking and spying on cats when you watch
them play and do things? I mean, sure, I can’t blame you for
watching them, it is nice to figure out so much by simply using
your eyes and ears, but at least I don’t make it look so
creepy! Honestly Moonkit, think!” If he’d passed any lines,
it was too bad. Scorchedkit didn’t care- he had his own worries,
and even though he truly cared to inform cats of what they were
clearly doing wrong, he had better things to do. He gave
Moonkit one last accusing stare, before turning around to face
the exit again.

Moonkit let out an exasperated sigh and made a dive for the exit, blocking Scorchedkit as best she could. "Well I didn't ask for your 'useful' advice! Things that apply to you might not necessarily apply to me! And maybe the only reason you noticed me watching the other kits fraternize is because you were focusing on me!" she said. Ugh... This Scorchedkit was like a thorn in her fur. Not that she had ever had a thorn lodged in her fur. There was probably something to his dumb advice... but his delivery! Moonkit was incredulous. It didn't matter how sensible the things the small tom said were! It just made her want to do the exact opposite. He must just be that type of cat I suppose.

Scorchedkit stumbled backward as Moonkit dived for the
playden entrance, annoyance still throbbing in his chest.
Moonkit just didn’t understand the point he was trying to
get through- she didn’t seem to even be considering taking
his advice. “Well, technically you aren’t wrong when you
say I was watching you- but remember,
Moonkit, that isn’t what I was trying to tell you!” He told
her, clearly not making a single attempt to hide his annoyance
from his tone. Moonkit really didn’t understand. Then he would
have to explain even more. “Clearly, the point I have trying
to make was that you watching others in the way that you
were was creepy… not that you shouldn’t watch people. Moonkit,
do I look like a hypocrite?” Scorchedkit thought about his
own question. Well, to her- yes, obviously. But what have a
done to be considered one? He forced the now slightly risen
fur on his neck to flatten. “I was never blaming you for
watching cats. I was accusing you of watching them in a way
that would clearly affect you in a negative way. I was
helping you,”

Scorchedkit backed away from the entrance, allowing the
black and white she-Kit to exit if she wanted to. And just for
the fun of it, he added his early mistake. “Moo-kit.”
He couldn’t help but think- Moonkit did in fact have some
white on her black for, Moo-Kit seemed like an appropriate
name. He’d heard of the cows near Windclan, especially them
being the first part of Windclan’s current medicine cat, Cow…
something’s name. Cowtuft, that was it. Anyway, he felt like it
was an appropriate nickname for Moonkit. So as he let Moo-Kit
make her way out of the den if she wanted to, he grumbled,
“Don’t have to get so… angry over simple things,
Moo-Kit.” He nodded to the entrance.

Moonkit let out a sigh. Mookit? Really? I mean, I'm actually not opposed to that nickname... Moonkit shook her head fueiously. Right. A comeback. "Sure. See you around, Burntkit," she said with a smirk. Burnt and Scorched were close enough right? Yeah. Probably. She walked nonchalantly to the exit. Burntkit might not have been the best comeback, but it was something. Good enough.

Wrenkit pranced around, humming a lullaby about the big green monster who stole her mossball.
