He allowed the kit to run past with an amused smile. "Just going to tire yourself out so I can win?" he teased. Nectarpaw tapped his paw on a spot next to him so the kit can wait for the rules.
"Alright we are going to run around camp three times. The first one to get back to this spot near the nursery, wins. If you win, I'll... uh... I'll give you a lesson or something." He wasn't really sure what to give as a prize. "If I win, you must help me clean the nursery. Deaaal?" If the kit didn't want to help clean, he wouldn't force him. It was just the first thing he thought of.

Another laugh bubbled out of his chest. They didn't even care about loosing! The apprentice crouched low, wincing a bit as the unseen scars on their neck brushed against their fur. "Ow.. Uh.. okay! Ready.. set.. go!" he called before trotting ahead. They didn't want to go that hard, they were almost a warrior going against a kit. Better if he just let him win.
He dashed around the clearing, shouting apologies and 'excuse me''s to his clanmates. He did his best to keep up with the kit as he ran.

The wind was stinging the tip of his ripped ear so he gritted his teeth and kept moving. Until.. he slowed down and turned back to see the kit on the ground. The ginger tom rushed over with a worried glance. "You okay? Are you hurt?" He kneaded the ground anxiously.
