Shimmer’s fur stood on end. Why should she tell another cat her name?! That was something she wouldn’t give! Not to a cat she didn't know- atleast not well. She growled, her head bowed slightly as she backed off. If she was going to talk, he’d have to wait before he approached. Her thorn-sharp claws were showing as she lashed her paws out, slipping and landing on her belly, still hissing. Up to her paws, she continued backwards, tail straight up and wagging, bristled. “Stranger danger stranger danger!” She yowled, continuing to back up til her back was against the wall of the nursery, which still wasn’t far from the warrior. She continued to growl, hopping a cat would come along and stop this cat from talking to her.

Pineswipe stiffled a purr. "It's alright, look." Readjusting himself to keep his hip still, he slowly and calmly moved his front-right paw toward the kit until it was a tail-length away from her. "I can't hurt you." He showed the kit that he had no foreclaws, hoping that they would calm down now.

Shimmer slapped the paw away, her claws still out, though she didn’t check to see if she’d hurt anyone. “Go away!” She snarled, leaping away towards the fresh kill pile before stopping, half way between the prey pile and Pine, tail lashing behind her as she wiped a paw over her nose again, shaking the paw when she was done. “Leave me alone.” Her eyes glittered in anger, head still bowed as she lay to the ground, her gaze not shifting for a second.

Pineswipe purred quietly at the furious kit. So much passion in such a little body. He turned away and ate his meal, then limped over to his nest, which was thankfully at the front of the warriors' den, and tried to go to sleep, though with the sun still up, he knew it was futile.

You're not allowed to be doing this, Thistlepaw's mind screams at her as the little grey apprentice approaches the fresh kill pile, nosing through until she finds something she would like to eat. You haven't fed the elders or queens. Don't take what you can't replace. But I don't know how to hunt! How could I replace it? Doesn't matter. Don't take. Her mind yells at her as she grabs a mouse that looks decently fresh, if a little frozen in places. Movements stiff with anxiety, Thistlepaw brings her meal over towards the apprentice's den, ready to eat, pushing beyond the gnawing in her gut, the voice in her head telling her she's wrong for this. For eating when she's hungry.

And she takes a bite of the mouse.

The relief that floods her as she tastes it, the instant sating of the worst of her hunger almost makes up for the fact that her heart is still beating out of her chest in fear.

Chickadeeswivel approaches the apprentice merrily, sensing the cat's anxiety from miles away. She tries to put on her friendliest face, but concern and the slightest suspicion etch into her features. "Excuse me, may I sit here?" She asks, tilting her head to the side. "I'm Chickadeeswivel, nice to meet you." Surely this apprentice had done nothing wrong and any of the she-cat's suspicions were false, but she didn't see the apprentice come back from any sort of duty before taking prey. Perhaps she was mistaken and should mind her own beeswax, but hey, she was the aunt of Stumblekit. Always better to be safe than sorry when it came to young ones.

Nectarpaw padded up to the apprentice with a smile. "Hey! Long time no speak!" He laid beside the apprentice. It's has been a while, it's been moons since they had sparred. It seems like they are in a similar situation in regards to training. They had shared a mentor but now..
