Rí’s eyes sparkled at her complement. “Really?” He asked in awe, fully believing everything she said. “I’ll train hard to impress you then.” He puffed his chest out, trying to seem as manly as he possibly could, however the splash of the lake behind her made his attention shift. “Whoa!” He gasped, getting on all fours as if he was ready to bolt over to the lake. “Is that a fish?!”

Athena smiled at the pup. He had heart, that was for sure. She turned her head to the splash and giggled. She made her way to the edge of the water and watched the surface. "Yes that's a fish alright." She said with a giggle. As a joke, she added. "They haven't seen me in a while. They miss me I guess." She shrugged and waved her paw at the fish. "Good day to you as well!" She called out to the water.

And to think he was going to attempt to end their life- oh she would’ve been so mad then. Good thing he didn’t do anything. “How long have you all been friends?” He tilted his head.

Athena nodded proudly. "Yep. I know a few of them. Though not many. I only know four of them, three rest never want to speak to me." She explained with a shrug. "They always swim off whenever I get close." She hummed and laid near the edge of the water. "I have wondered what they taste like." She watched a few of the fish splash around and her stomach suddenly grumbled and she chuckled in embarrassment. "I guess I can only imagine it. I don't know how to catch fish."

Pride seeped it’s way into the pups mind, bring forth an air of overconfidence…but luckily- the odds were in his favor just this once. He knew how to do this..at least. Hopefully the fish here weren’t too big though, Rí could only catch small fish…but he supposed if he really tried maybe a medium one would fall into his paws. “I’ll show you!” He yipped, more so excited to show off what he believed to be his best talent than anything.

He had to stop himself from running to the waters edge, as he didn’t want to startle any lingering fish, and made his way to a rock that was situated further out. Rí was rigid still, not even blinking as he stared into the rippling water below. The sudden change in demeanor- going from his usual bubbly self to a stiff cold thing- would be a very valid cause for concern in those who watched too long. It looked…odd…seeing as his normal self was anything but the silent rock he was now.

Finally, after a few agonizing moments his paw flicked and out was a snagged fish. He was quick to nibble on it, wanting to send it off quickly as it could very well be a friend of Athena’s, before making his way over to her. It wasn’t large or impressive by any means- but it was a fish. That he had caught. In front of her.

He couldn’t be more damn proud of himself.

“I know you said two-“ His voice was muffled around its scales. “But I accidentally scared off all the others. I’d have to go further away to try again.” The pup placed the fish at her paws. “For you!” He smiled, his lower jaw and paws dripping with water.

She was amazed by the speed of his paw flicking a fish out onto the rock he was on. Her mouth was left open in awe as he brought the fish to her, unsure of what to say at that moment. Trying to regain her thoughts, she looked down at the fish that was put in front of her. Clearing her throat, she said to him. "Ah, yes. This indeed is not two fishes." She leaned down to take a bite, the cool flesh and soft meat filled her mouth and her eyes went wide at the taste. She now knew what fish tasted like, and they tasted goood. "But I supposed I can let this one go this one time, seeing how impressive you were." She praised after taking another bite. After a few more bites, she pushed half of the remaining fish to him. "It's your catch, I suppose you should get to taste your own victories." She said looking away from him like it was nothing much, but on the inside, she was slightly blushing and mentally screaming as she had just realized that was all a ruse to try to impress her and it worked.

Celestia layed in her den. After the morning she had feeling completely terrible, she thought she couldn't get worse than how she felt then. Boy was she wrong. She felt worse now as she felt like her muscles ached every time she moved them. Sometimes it felt like she couldn't breathe, and her head was spinning constantly. She looked down at her pups and pressed them firmly against her. She remembered the threat of them going somewhere else. She couldn't lose them, they were all she had besides Matasi, and he was always off doing his work in the pack. She would go mad here by herself. "It's ok my pups. I will never let you go." She half hummed, half coughed to them.

The pup, who was secretly starving- took the food immediately, chowing down on the rest of the fish without a second thought. It didn’t hit him till after he finished the whole thing if that was some sort of test or something. You never knew with she wolves.

His eyes flickered up to hers nervously, awaiting her disappointed stare to be glaring back at him- but much to his relief he found none. Instead, he saw her looking away. If Rí was more observant he would have seen her blushing. Unfortunately for him, and much to Athena’s luck, the older pup was pretty dense when it came to that.

“So what now?” He chirped, haphazardly brushing some sand over the bones of their late morning snack. “Should we explore? Or do you wanna sit here and gaze at the clouds? We could make up some games or-“ He paused. Was he being annoying? Rí tried to keep his happy facade on though he felt embarrassment seeping through him.

Athena was a bit older after all, he was sure she wouldn’t appreciate his non stop blabbering about such childish activities. Eventually he just ended up laughing nervously, scraping his paw over the sand. “But uh, it’s up to you.”

Matasi returned, having left much earlier than normal to complete some of his daily duties in hopes he would be back even before his mate woke. The wolf had some herbs in his mouth, after spending time with the healers and asking about various different things he could give and do to help Celestia. He was sure if it wasn’t for his ranking they would have kicked him out.

But luckily enough for him, to do that was a crime punishable by death.

He hated how Ibuki’s wolves had been sharing supplies and interacting with the pack. They got in his way multiple times and he was ready to lash out if it wasn’t for the rules put in place preventing that. The new father didn’t appreciate Ketsueki’s deal with the devil but he supposed they were backed up into a corner. Just as long as they stayed out of his way he didn’t mind. Unfortunately for him, they seemed to have a hard time doing that.

“Celestia?” He called, a small mouse and wet moss also hung from his mouth. “I have some things for you. The healers said it should make this more tolerable.” He placed the herbs in front of her. “They also wanted to know if you could eat or drink today.” He hummed, sitting down to watch her like a tired parent would to their child.

Athena's mind was still racing at a million miles an hour. She didn't think the fastest rabbit could catch her mind right now. Her head turned to him, doing her best to not show that he was blushing and listened to him. Hearing his ideas of activities to do on any other day, she would've jumped for joy at them. "But this time, her brain froze. What was this pup trying to do? Was he trying to show her something she hadn't seen before? Maybe show her a new game that she would find fun? Why was she asking these questions the way she did? "N-No." She stuttered. "That's ok. You can pick. I'm n-not that picky about what we do." She said looking away again as her blush started to come back. Stop blushing! She tried to command herself. He's just being a pup! Nothing more. Stop making it seem like it's anything more.

Celestia's eyes opened when she heard Matasi walk into the den. She didn't know how much she needed to hear his voice until she heard him. Her smile was very weak, but it was a genuine one. She was always happy to see her mate, she just wished he didn't have to look so worried about her. She looked at the herbs and shivered. More herbs. They all tasted so gross and stuff. But she took at deep breath and ate all the herbs in front of her, just to make Matasi happy. "I ate everything that was given to me earlier." She told him. Hopefully she said it convincingly enough to know that it wasn't a complete lie. Though she did drink all of the water that was given to her, her stomach almost threw up at the thought of food. She would get hungry eventually...it just wasn't right at this second.



Sinder was hiding in a bush, staring at Midnight through the small gaps in the twigs and leaves as she looked on in jealousy. So she did have it out for Annik! Her fears were confirmed with one sentence. She had to go find him now, and keep him away from this new wolf. She meant trouble.
