The crocs' eyes widened as they saw Taema's body, and there were a few startled gasps. They all came up onto the shore with saddened looks. The Crew moved into a circle around her, and Ajax pulled Okami into it with his tail. They all closed their eyes and bowed their heads. "May her spirit travel safely," Ajax said, "and may she watch over us until it is our time to join her." An older crocodile shambled forward and lifted the corpse onto his shoulders and walked to a nearby river. He slid the body into the water and they all watched it drift away. "May she find her way to the Star River (what they call the Milky Way)," they all murmered.

Okami watched all of this, while standing over the mound of eggs. As was the way of crocodiles, she preferred if Ajax didn't talk about them.
