Antfrost sighed, "I did not wean then for almost two moons after they were ready to be weaned. I weaned them at the appropriate time of one moon, though it feels like it was just yesterday. If you ever had kits, Lionstar, you would understand what I mean." she mewed through gritted teeth. How dare he doubt what she was saying? Didn't he knew the saying? Mother. Knows. Best. "Like I said before, if Icekit and floodkit say that they ready, then I will allow it. And Icekit has, in fact, said that he was ready, and I trust my kits to tell the truth" she insisted, her voice cold and icy.

"Antfrost," Lionstar's patience with her had been spent long ago. "This discussion was over before I made all these other kits apprentices.

"You made it very clear that you did not feel they were ready, so fine. They're not ready. Your precious babies will not become apprenticed this meeting, because this meeting is dismissed."

Had Antfrost gone about this politely, Lionstar probably would have made them apprentices. But he was irked with her behavior and not about to change his mind on that. She dug a hole and buried her kits in it with her.

"Sorry kids, not my fault your dear mom had to go and throw a fit over you becoming apprentices. Maybe you two need to teach her a lesson on maturity.. because Icekit has shown more than you and he's hardly said anything."

With an irritated twitch of his tail, Lionstar sprang down from the Streamstone and left.

Antfrost stood up and turned to the nursery, her tail lashing, "Fine" she mewed, "Good day, lionstar" she hissed, narrowing her eyes at the leader. She looked at her kits, her eyes starting to tear up, "I'm so sorry, floodkit and Icekit." she whispered, hiding her face. "I'm sorry that I put my feelings before yours. I just... I feel like I've barely spent any time with you." she murmured, slowly trudging to the nursery, her tail dragging on the ground.

Morningmeadow gasped with excitement as she was given a new apprentice. She loved training Goosefury, so she assumed she'd love training Claypaw! She looked for them in crowd and spotted them, she padded over and said "Hi, I'm Morningmeadow! You're Claypaw, right?" @Silverclover

Sorrelpaw! She was officially an apprentice! She waited - quite impatiently, shifting from one paw to the next - as everyone else was given their new mentors as well. And waited, watching each warrior walked up and touched noses with their new apprentice. And waited until she was the last apprentice standing without a warrior by her side. And waited until the meeting finally dismissed and she was left alone. Orange eyes scanned the dispersing crowd, searching for this 'Robinwing'. Who... was she even supposed to look for? Her face hardened. Fine. If her mentor wasn't going to show up, she could very well find someone else to teach her. She marched up to the first warrior she saw.

"My mentor didn't show. Take me on a territory tour." she demanded.

Bumblebelly was going to cry. His babies! They were all grown up! A long, loud whine of sadness escaped him, like a roar of a mourning lion. At least Sleepykit-- no, Sleepypaw was in good claws... Dayheart was as good as they came, to bumble anyway. He glanced back at the nursery, where his nest now empty lay. Tears swelled in his eyes but the big boy ran off to weep in his nest... alone.

Snowfern looked down as an apprentice marched up to her. What was her name? Brindlepaw? It didn't really matter, "Ummmm, sure?" she blinked owlishly. Smiling down at the she-cat, she mewed, "When do you want to go?" she licked a paw and dragged it over her ear. This was great! Now she could get some experience and ready herself for when she actually got an apprentice!
