Re: WindClan Warriors' Den
-- @ Beau --
Ok so he got some food too that was an accomplishment. Smiling happily the young warrior reached for the rabbit and took a bite, too quickly swallowing so that he ended up coughing for a brief moment... he kind of hadn't realized how hungry he was. Food was such a strange thing but Stagleech was happy that he'd become a not so useless hunter... like he'd done a lot of progress and like that was a good thing wasn't it? His crippleness no longer defined him, well it did but, with time he'd learned how to use it better or so he felt. He'd at least gotten used to it well enough that he could hunt and even outrun some of WindClan's faster cats. No longer was he the kit who couldn't walk properly.. somewhat.
And then Mushy said something and all that Stagleech could do was bury his head into Mushy's fur. It meant a lot to the warrior who didn't feel like a warrior that his dad said he would no go away. "I'm not going to leave you either, or like I mean, I don't want to leave you either. I'm also here for you, always... Dad." The word sounded strange on his tongue but it also felt comforting and he tried it again, "Dad." And he liked the sound of it, he really did.

Re: WindClan Warriors' Den
[ @Arie I’m crying ;u; ]
Dad? Wow... Stagleech really wanted to call him that? Rushingmoor let go of his fear of mush at least for the moment and let the tears that pricked his eyes fall. He cared about the kid so much and it felt so overwhelming to hear that his love for the younger cat wasn’t weird. He loved Stagleech as his son and the conflicting emotions that came with that fled in that moment. Stag had managed to kill them with a few words.
So what Mushy wasn’t his biological father and so what he’d taken on the dad role without any discussion. They were meant to be father and son and no one could convince Rushingmoor otherwise.
“Thank you... son...” That felt both weird and awkward, “now enough with the mushy stuff! Let’s dig in!”

First order of business was to start the day with a meal. Walking over to the prey pile he searched over and found himself a mouse. He didn't need anything big, after al the day had just started so there wasn't any reason to gorge himself. He would more than likely give back to the pile after his hunting session later in the day. He was excited to really stretch his muscles, after all he had only recently become a warrior. It was his time to really make a name for himself in the clan. But that was later, for now it was time to eat. Swiftstrike found a nice spot in the clearing to sit down and eat, enjoying the smell of the wind and taking in the world around him as he began eating his first meal of the day.

Breezefeather let this eyes glance over the clearing, before he spotted a warrior in the process of finishing up his meal. The deputy had already been out during the morning already but... he did need to bond with his clanmates and not only his family so he headed over towards the warrior, pausing briefly as his green eyes caught onto the body of the mouse that the warrior was eating... no thanks. Making his way over still, this time a bit more carefully, the deputy sat down. Keeping his distance, eyes more focused on the half-eaten mouse than anything.
No. Focus. "Would you like to join me for a hunt when you finish your prey?" he inquired slowly. He'd not been out hunting for some time and despite him not necessarily needing to do such a thing, it was still interesting and a friendly thing to offer for a clanmate.

But then his dad said he didn't like mice, and he had to drop the rodent to retort. But.....mice are the bestest! They taste like warm things, and maybe a little bit like snuggles! And furry! They are so furry and cute and how can you not like them? It wasn't like he snuggled with them, but how could they be scary?
Or maybe his daddy wasn't scared. Maybe it was just creepy for him. Should he kill it? But it was already dead. Maybe he should put it back? But he wanted to eat it, oh so very badly, it was so tasty looking, and it would be a shame to not eat it. But his dad didn't like them. But HE liked them. And who could dislike mice? Apparently his dad. His thoughts were running around in circles, all over the place and he had to shake his head to clear it. Picking it up, he carried it a back towards the freshkill pile, before stopping and looking longingly at the morsel before putting it back, grabbing a bird. It was feathery, and it made him sneeze, but he brought it over, tripping a few times on it's largeness. Is this less scary? he asked curiously, feathers stuck all over his front.
|
"R-rabbits are a lot better Thunderkit, I'm sure you'll like them a looot more." Breezefeather was trying his best to convince his son to drop the rodent, to not get any closer and most definitely to NOT chase him around with the mouse like Bunnypaw had done. There were far too many similarities between Bunnypaw and Thunderkit and the deputy hoped that this trait of chasing someone around with a mouse wouldn't be one of them. Ok the mouse was down. Why didn't he like mice? "Mice got really strong teeth! and they're really dangerous so like they're neither cute, nor are they tasty. You would be off better if you... j-just left them alone." Could his son seriously not get a hint?
OH NO! He'd not meant for the kit to run back and leave it, he looked so distraught. Feeling absolutely horrible and guilty for what he made his son do, the deputy quickly ran over to the fresh-kill pile and found the rodent that Thunderkit had returned and with a claw hooked it inside the mouse and quickly carried it over to the kit, and then cleaned his claw hastily in the snow. Looking at the bird appreciatively he smiled though and nodded, "Birds are perfectly fine. What if you eat the mouse and I eat this bird? Would that be a good deal Little Love?" He hoped it would... would make his life a lot easier and less fearful.

Meanwhile, though, when the feline wasn’t worrying about her kits’ adjustment Otterberry worried about her former best friend. Breezefeather had recently been made deputy, apparently, but aside from that tidbit the oriental longhair had no idea what had gone on in the tom’s life since her departure from the clan. Additionally, she had no idea how he would react to her return.
|
Wait. He saw someone! The deputy had been busy cleaning his chest but his green eyes lifted suddenly and landed upon a brown feline in the corner of the clearing and it took a bare moment before the silver tom was up and running towards her with a big smile on his face. "Otterberry! You're back!" the excitement was brief as he proceeded to narrow his eyes and look at her curiously but also with worry, "Where have you been?" He didn't know where his dear friend had been off to for a few moons but he presumed it was one of her natural disappearances that she took to go collect tiny children.
Otterberry had always been adventurous but Breezefeather just shook his head and regarded her for a moment before pulling her into a hug. She deserved that, it had been ages since he'd last seen his childhood friend... well childhood give and take. Otterberry had been one of the few that actually liked him when he was an apprentice far back, but it had always been more of a mutual friendship than anything because one benefitted the other.

Re: WindClan Territory
// @Arie
With the wind buffeting his raven-black fur and the sun hidden behind a string of clouds, Littlepaw was baffled as to why he was selected to be apart of this "expedition". Perhaps Twilightstar had noticed his social awkwardness and figured he needed a push - which, if he had a say in it, was the last thing he needed. More of his Clanmates noticing and pointing out his stutter? His half-Clan heritage? Usually his kin was around to brush the hate-filled comments off, but not on a patrol like this. Teeth chattering slightly to appease his freezing muscles, the black tom carried onwards, the snow underpaw crunching as he glided over it.
He wasn't too familiar with the warrior beside him, save for the fact that her name was Weaselskip and she was the head Guardian for WindClan. Rumors floated around the nursery of her prestige and reputation for being a skilled warrior, so the normal anxiety that danced in his belly was increased tenfold being within a whisker-length of the molly. "I-It's p-p-pretty cold o-out here, h-huh?" Littlepaw desperately wished he could blame his stuttering on the cold. On chattering teeth. But every cat in WindClan had heard his stutter by now. Embarrassment heated his ears as he made a point to not look at Weaselskip, hoping that whatever retort she came back with wouldn't cut too deep. She probably hated that she was stuck on a patrol with the laughing stock of WindClan.

Re: WindClan Nursery
// @Fuzzy
He was glad when the mossball incident was glossed over, relaxing once again in the fact that the nursery was the once place Littlepaw could make a fool of himself and not feel the same overwhelming anxiety he would if the incident had occurred in the middle of camp. Seeing the happiness on Rainkit's face was enough to drive the rest of it down, only just at the back of his mind now. "I m-missed you," he purred, crouching down so he was Rainkit's height. Though he was small, the age difference between the two was beginning to get a lot more noticeable. "The app-pprentice den i-isn't the same. I-I can't w-w-wait until you s-start your training!" It was true. While he'd made acquaintances in his new den, none were as good at making him feel comfortable like Rainkit did - aside from Hollypaw. She seemed to share the same anxious tendencies that he did which made him feel a smidge more at ease.

Re: WindClan Training Moor
Releasing Stagleech's tail with a huff as he started in about ground rules for fighting, which she had been fairly sure were just no death and no maiming, Deadpaw sat down, her own tail around her rump. His tail was sacred? What kind of lunacy was that? Giving a small chuckle, she muttered Sacred? Really? before paying a bit more attention since the next bit sounded a bit more sensible. It made sense tails were tender, and it did make sense that cats would hide it. As he flopped onto his back, she looked at him rather curiously before tensing up, leaping into the air and aiming directly for his belly. She was coming in from above, with no control whatsoever. Because it was his belly. It wasn't POINTY! @ Arie

Fallenstorm wove her way threw the grass. Stopping in front of her apprentice she looked directly at him. "We're sparring today. No claws will be used and we will treat it as if it's your final assessment." She said cooly. The cream warrior twitched her tail. "I can get a apprentice for you to spar if you want." Fallen said. @ Paradise

Re: WindClan Clearing
In truth Thunderkit hadn't tried a rabbit, they were almost as big as him, so it was impossible for him to get one to a spot to eat, let alone eat the thing. But maybe he would like it once he was bigger and was able to carry it. That must be right. He had not noticed how toothy mice were, although that did make a little sense. But weren't rabbits also toothy? They LOOKED toothy at least, when he went near them on the pile.
And then dad brought the mouse back over? This was confusing, but he certainly wasn't going to argue with getting to eat the mouse! Nodding happily, he settled down a bit away from his dad, sniffing the mouse happily. Yeah! That sounds good! he giggled, deciding to take the whole thing as a bit of a joke or something. Taking a bite of the mouse, the fur tickling his nose just a bit, he sneeze-giggled before munching away, so absorbed in the deliciousness that he barely looked around. @ Arie
