She should have been resting in the medicine cat's den, but her concern for her clan and the fact that she was the only high rank in the camp kept her out under the galewood. Twilightstar had shot up so quickly that she was momentarily dizzy. The leader's eye landed on her son as he burst the camp out of breath. She clambered to her paws, breathing in a sharp hiss as small jolts of pain whizzed through her nerves. She quickly met the tom halfway and listened as he jumped into the reason for his abrupt return.

"Dead?!" She repeated astounded. It wasn't the fact that the leader had only died after a few moons. She was used to seeing them come and go like changing seasons at this rate, but she was troubled since the whole reason she sent her clan to RiverClan was for Beanstar. Twilightstar conflicted once again on whether she had made the right call for war on a clan whose leader caused all this.

However, that little monster, called rage, that had been rearing its ugly head reminded her that there was another who should have taken up the mantel of leadership, the only way Beanstar would have been allowed to become leader was if RiverClan had chosen him. Beanstar had never been deputy. So RiverClan's suffering was their own they picked the wrong cat. It was starting to get tiring feeling bad and empathetic towards others when they refused to offer her the same courtesy...

Twilightstar sighed loudly wondering if she was just merely trying to justify her actions, but more importantly this needed sorting. "Lead me to them, swiftly." She ordered Leechscar, tail lashing. She'd sort her moral compass out later, Twilightstar needed to make sure her clanmates were alright. Batglare and the other senior warriors would take care of the clan while they were away... or so she kept telling herself as she followed Leechscar out of the camp.

Frozenberry's uncertainty permeated his every action down to the quiver in his reply as he remembered his recent . . . incident. He cast a side-eye glance at Falcon to gage his expression but found no hints there as to whether he knew about it. "Feels like failing, with how much these battle-frequenting cats are praised." They said it was an honorable action to defend one's Clan--but if everyone just defended their Clan, it seemed they'd have no attackers in one another.

He didn't even know if that was what they were doing, defending.

A ghost of a smile graced his muzzle. "If this is failure, then I would hate to know success. Let them fight; when they return broken, we will be here to keep the order." Or rather, Fellcone would be. He did not expect Frozen to assist him. "They will thank us when something happens, and they are not around to stop it - but we are." He tipped his head, glancing at Frozen questionably. "Is all these thoughts because of the battle?"
