The giant's tongue instantly on his fur as he settled besides them, Sprucejumper closed his eyes with contentment. He was too old for this sort of open affection, he was sure. He was a big cat now. A warrior. Warriors didn't go around giving each other baths. That was kit stuff. But frankly, the former kittypet didn't quite care. What had been an annoyance when he was younger now a welcomed gesture. One of the few moments in which ThunderClan wasn't just the place where he stayed with the star worshipers, but home.
Pressing against the feline's pelt as he lay down comfortably on his side, the young warrior twitched an ear at The Boulder's words, a purr of pride rumbling within him. Hear that, Chatty? It was cats like him that kept the clan running. Because he was the better hunter. Never mind that wasn't exactly what his former mentor had said. It's what he chose to understand, thank you very much. In fact, they even said he was going to be their forever best hunter! Superiority accomplished. Your move, Usurper. Preferably far away. You weren't wanted anymore. The special place in Mudhound's life was his and his alone.
And yet emerald hues darted back towards the giant's yellow with interest, deadpanned eyes quirking a single brow. His mentor? Having trouble with apprentices? Those new apprentices must be idiots, then. Yeah, sure. The clans were a scary place. It was tough going day to day knowing one day Angry might think your pawprints are messing up the clearing and your number is up. But shouldn't that be motivation? To take any sort of knowledge you could find that might help you survive? Brows furrowing at this thought, the tom lifted himself, one dark paw soon landing on his chocolate colored chest.
"Assistance?"
Personally, Sprucejumper could give a rat's ass if The Boulder's new apprentices were struggling. If they couldn't handle what a kittypet like himself had, well, tough. However, if they looked bad, then his mentor might look bad in turn. The Havana Brown mix refused this outcome by any means necessary. Even if it meant going out of his way and helping them train the little pests. Pests that were admittedly closer in age to him than he was to the warriors, but semantics. We weren't here for that. No. We were here to make the mountainous feline look good and maybe even look good in the process.
Unfortunately, it seemed that this matter was vexing The Boulder more than he could have ever imagined. So much so that they were considering this an actual problem. Hmmm... who could possibly have any issues forming a connection with this cat? They were pleasant, kind to a fault, knowledgeable, and good to be around. This coming from a cat who preferred not being around others on a good day. How bad could these two paws have messed up to actually be considered relationship issues? Hmph, it was clear he most certainly needed to help if it had gotten this bad! In earnest, however, the chocolate point merely tilted his head, ear in Mudhound's direction. Perhaps if they explained better, he would be able to find a way to help them out of this situation. A one word solution to all life's problems. Life's problems being The Blundering Paw Wonders. It wasn't their fault they were stuck with two incompetent apprentices, after all.
@Rani [Mudhound]
| He totally understood Mudhound here. It's like they are in the same wavelength. Trust. |

Owlheart hesitated to respond she hadn't talked to other cats often. But she most certainly did not want to be rude so she flicked her tail. "Hi." she mewed nervously. @HerbalTea
Vulturewhisper slowly approached Owlheart, before sitting down. Not saying a word.
Being back in the warriors den was weird. Well, to be fair, she thought that the medicine den was weird to sleep in back when she had first been appointed the rank. After that change, she didn’t think that she’d ever be coming back here–to sleep, night after night. Of course it had all been her own decision, but that didn’t remove the fact that it was weird to return here.
When she had last slept in here, she slept in her own nest. Now, she had the pleasure of sharing her nest with Sparrowpelt. By the time Orangeblossom had appeared within the den, she had just finished merging her own nest and Sparrowpelt’s to make one big comfy mass of moss to fit the both of them. It would be comforting–her nest often smelled of lavender, as she liked to slip it into her moss, as it helped her sleep… But now it would smell of two of her favourite things, lavender and her mate.
Company.
A quiet voice whispered to her left, alerting her that Orangeblossom had not just come in here to snooze, but to chat. Green eyes shifted upwards from where she currently lay, kneading at the moss below her to ensure it was cozy after all of the work she put into prepping it.
“Orangeblossom! Hello, I… I’m just settling in, is all. It’s a little odd being back in here after so long.” Drizzlecloud spoke softly, an almost nervous chuckle escaping her as she spoke. Not nervous to speak to the young warrior, no, just… A little wary about the changes that she’d have to get used to again.
[ @Dolomedes - also worth letting you know that only drizz can hear the little italicized words that i've included ]
Orangeblossom nodded, that was right, Drizzlecloud had been a warrior before being a medicine cat. He kind of forgot about that. It's been a long while hasn't it. The warrior grinned and with a wag of his tail he replied, "Well, if you need any help getting the ropes again, I am always open to help!" Though that also reminded him of why he was here. Partially- mostly- concern but also because he was curious about sign language. It wasn't something that he was super well aqcuinted with, not in the slightest, but it was something he was thinking about ever since having gotten closer with Springlight and therefore Drizzlecloud. A proper means of communication with Drizzlecloud and providing another way of communication with Springlight. He imagines that talking with her injury gets tiring after a while.
"If you aren't too busy... I was wondering if you could teach me sign language? I want to be able to talk with you properly! I also- think.. it'll help me talk with Springlight. I can't imagine that it's nice to talk with her injury, even if its healed by now." He spoke, ending a bit embarrassingly, though he didn't understand why that made him flustered. It was a genuine concern of his and he wanted to understand so that he could help her, but also something about Springlight has made him get all weird. Flustered and the likes. It was weird and he didn't quite understand it much at all, but he's figuring it out. Kind of.
