The tom was ready when his apprentice leaped. It was easy to see she was aiming for his head. He bunched his leg and leaped, twisting his body around his apprentice. His signature twist. They landed nimbly on their paws, whipping around to see the apprentice. Almost instantly, he twisted again, this time aiming for Leafpaw's stomach. If they landed, they would aim to pin the apprentice down.

She had thought that would work, at least in her mind it was; who would go for the front where they could clearly see it coming? Her mentor had since avoided her attack like he'd seen it a million times with such ease. The dark apprentice should have also seen him avoiding it coming, he was a seasoned warrior, and she was a mere apprentice. He probably had years of fighting enemies and sparing with other clanmates while she started her apprenticeship. So she wasn't surprised when she felt herself hit the ground with a thud and go breathless for a mere second. That wasn't very reassuring for her in the first place, but it was coming. Even if she hit the ground, she quickly got up and jumped away from the warrior. Leafpaw may not know any fighting moves, but she was agile enough to avoid getting pinned to the ground; she wasn't going down that easily. With a huff, she quickly shot to his side and aimed to leap onto his back, this time with a powerful launch off the ground.

The warriors ears swiveled as Leafpaw ran away. She was coming back, and they knew it. He stayed silent, listening to the sounds of the underbrush. He couldn't pick up a scent, so he figured leafpaw was downwind. A sudden rustling came with Leafpaw shooting forward at his side. He barely had time to react, and ducked down. "That was good, Leafpaw!" he commented, padding up to the apprentice.

Leaf was trying to figure out what move he could teach her. "So, squirt. I can't think of anything, so. What battle move do you want to learn?" Leaf asked the apprentice. Their tail brushed the ground as he awaited an answer.

She stuck out her chest in pride at the compliment, glad to see she accomplished something. Even if it was her first time 'attacking' she seemed to have done good. Leafpaw flicked her tail as she angled her ears in thought at the question. She mainly wanted to learn and work on speed and stealth. "I want to do something with speed and maybe stealth!" she answered she knew she was fit for speed-based moves more than strength.
Leafpaw was sure that stealth ones would be the same for her, she didn't have that much noticeable muscle on her.
