Milkpaw followed Deertrot gingerly, careful not to trip and roll away down the moor like he had done during the race with Firepaw. He could already see the first trees of their forest. They were already starting to lose their leaves, leaving only dry, dead-like plants.

"Well... their territory is set on a huge forest. They eat mostly mice and squirrels, and..." What else can I say? "Oh, they can climb trees!" He added quickly. Was Deertrot satisfied with his answer? Knowing her, probably she wasn't. But Milkpaw hadn't spent his kithood hearing about other clans' business, and not he was trying really hard to retrieve every useful memory for this kind of test.

Finally, Deertrot seemed somewhat satisfied of Milkpaw's answers. He let himself show a tiny smile of pleasure as his mentor kept on listing Thunderclan's traits. Would he ever remember so many names? Sparrowstar, Crowfire, Sundust, Rosepaw. I can do it!
The apprentice nodded at Deertrot's explanation, hoping that she realized how much he loved learning new things. He was sure that was a characteristic that made mentors happy, but so far he hadn't been too good at that.

“Now that you know the borders, we'll be learning about hunting. We'll be using the basic hunting crouch for now but we will advance to something way more complicated once you've learnt the basics” Deertrot nodded, waiting for Milkpaws reply.

Milkpaw was tired, but he decided not to let himself show it and nodded seriously at Deertrot. He wasn't going to be a lazy apprentice, although he was sure that in any case his mentor would've made sure of that.
"Yes, Deertrot." He replied before sitting down, grateful for the chance to rest a little bit while the she-cat explained and showed him the "hunter crouch". He hoped this step wouldn't be too hard for him, but that bit of anxiety never left him, remaining a constant shadow in the corner of his mind.
