Hazelpaw bounced up to the start line, and her fur bushed up in anticipation. She would win this thing and show everyone that she was the best apprentice in ThunderClan and that she would be the best warrior!

After considering the rules that Thunderblaze had stated, Emberpaw finished giving her legs a good stretch and padded up to the starting line, tail lashing behind her as her excitement began to build.

The apprentices' thoughts were cut off by Thunderblaze's yowl ringing out at the starting line, which wasn't a very pretty one. But anyway!
Ashpaw hurried before the others and stretched his muscles, ready for what would probably be quite an effort. His gaze switched mischievously between the participants, a plan already forming in his mind.
It doesn't matter if I don't know the route. I'll just stick close to the cat who runs as fast as me, and then I'll outrun them just at the last moment..! but he must not take his eyes off the others, and of course be careful not to stumble in any root or rock.
"Ready!" he announced after looking back for the others.

The apprentice walked calmly up to the starting line, this wouldn't exactly be in favor to her, or any other apprentices as there were warriors playing, or even highly trained apprentices, her cold gaze examining the competition. She would do her best to win against them, even if she didn't it wasn't about the treasure, it's the journey you make, or something like that.

Feathernose lurched forward, her paws somehow managing to trip over themselves, but after a few steps, she was running. She was pelting, she was hareing, she was sprinting, chasing. She was the fastest cat in ThunderClan!
The thoughts of encouragement entered her mind to help spur her on as the trees whipped by on either side.

As Thunderblaze announced the start, Ashpaw's tensed muscled released all their energies and he sprang up, digging his claws hard in the ground to get a grood grip and pushing back dirt and dust. He could feel his clanmates beside him, running just as fast and exhaling loud breaths that were almost visible in the upcoming leaf-fall air.
Turning back for a brief moment, he shouted to the group: "You'll never catch me!" and bounded away with wide strides.

Larkstorm went off, her paws drumming against the earth. The wind tugged into her fur, and Larkstorm let her instincts carry her. The tabby slowly gained on the other cats, grinning. She would win this race, running was in her blood.
