Scalepaw lifts his head looking around, he limps into the forest sniffing for any food, he then finds a dead rabbit thats killed by the fox, he stalks very silently to it, as the fox looks away he takes his chance an steals the rabbit, looking back the fox is following him" looks like someone wants to play a chasing game i can do that" he mumbles, just as he went out of the forest he took a sharp turn and heads for a tree knowing he has no experience but its now or never, he unsheathes his claws and jumps up onto the tree barely hanging, he sets the Rabbit on the branch, as he slid down he jumped down landing on the foxes head and heads for the hole that's nearby, he ducks into the hole seeing the fox is trying to get he knew the fox won't be able to get the prey, as he saw the fox walk away and gave up he jumped out and went to the rabbit and brought it down, he padded over to Rabbiteye" well at least i know i can't climb very well and manage survive" he says then nudging the food to his mentor

Rabiteye sat up slowly. He twisted his jaw to work out the pains and making the joints crack. He bent down and took a mouth full of prey. He was too hungry to bother about the stench of fox on it.

Rabbiteye finished eating. The food rested nicely in his belly. He felt like curling up and sleeping but he needed to get Scalepaw back to camp so that he could be treated. He looked over the bleak, dark landscape for the place where camp would be. He sighed inwardly. It was still a while to go. "Want to walk a bit?" he asked.

Rabbiteye nodded. He decided to bring the twoleg pelt anyway. As he picked it up, dirt crumbled off the bottom. The twoleg stench had mostly gone from it now. Who knows, maybe Cowpaw can use it for injured cats, he thought. He hung the pelt on his back and began following his apprentice.

Scalepaw limped forward hoping to make it before sundown, as they walked he smells fox scent nearby, he flattens ear not liking what he smells, he keeps alert and continues limping

Rabbiteye saw Scalepaw flatten his ears. He sniffs the air too. Fox. It was close. A low growl escapes his throat. He didn't fancy facing it now, when he was so exhausted, though it sounded like a young one from what Scalepaw had said. The sun had completely disappeared now, only faint traces of orange where in the sky. He wanted to pick up the pace but did not want to rush the injured apprentice.


Silverpelt had come fully by the time they had reached the WindClan border. Rabbiteye sagged with relief as the familiar scents bathed over his tongue. "Not far now," he mewed.
