" I.. uhm... "

Did he do something wrong? He still had prey in his mouth... he had caught something! Why was Streampaw not impressed? Did they not like blood? What was so wrong about it? Spiderpaw lightly put the prey down before shifting his paws awkwardly. What was he going to say to Streampaw? Clearly this wasn't how prey usually ended up... he could say that it fell into a twoleg trap or something... or perhaps the rodent was just difficult to catch? Yeah, that will do! It will make me look better if I say I was able to catch it, even though it was crazy fast. He was not going to give Streampaw any moments to question his abilities.

" It was a pretty fast runner, so it took me a few moments to catch up to it. Once I got it in my paws, it tried running away, so that's why it got so messy. I still caught it though, right? "

He smirked and lifted up his prey. Hopefully that was enough to convince Streampaw... With a forced confident expression, he started to pad back to camp. He then paused and turned around to face his friend.

" C'mon! "

{ The silver tabby squinted his eyes and tilted his head in confusion, blinking once, twice, then heaving a sigh and padding forward. How odd Spider'Paw was acting today, was he self-conscious of his hunting skills? Awww, poor guy. Stream'Paw bumped flanks with the other apprentice, a beam spreading across the tabbies face. Hopefully Stream'Paw could show Spider'Paw that he was there for the white apprentice.

"You okay?"

He asked, dropping his head low and looking upwards and staring into Spider'Paws eyes as they walked. Stream'Paw felt his fur rustle as the hustle-and-bustle of the clan camp came into earshot, and Stream'Paw slowed his pace; they didn't have to get there as soon as possible, and the silver tabby wanted to talk with his new friend more often. Left paw, right paw, left paw, right- Stream'Paws eyes burnt into his paws as he awaited the responses of his companion, his sky-blue eyes occasionally flicking up to Spider'Paw, then back down at his feet. }

He stared at the ground for a few moments before responding to the feline next to him. Spiderpaw was still quite stressed about the event that happened a few minutes before, but there was no way he was going to have Streampaw worry about him, or, worst of all, pity him. It would also be quite embarrassing for him to lose a future friend after just a day of talking to them. So, he just decided to go along with his faked personality in hopes that Streampaw would be convinced that he was okay.

" Yes, everything is alright! "

Of course it isn't.

" We all have our moments.. "

I'm not going to make excuses for my failures...

" ...And the best thing we can do is learn and grow from our mistakes! "

And I'm going to push myself till I am best cat in this forest!

{ Stream'Paw | @R0WAN | Gonna start wrapping it up }

{ Stream'Paw smiled at Spider'Paws new-found confidence, continuing to pad forward as his slow walking sped to a trot. The silver tabby waved his tail happily, tilting his head to the white apprentice. Continuing forward, Stream'Paw brushed his tail against Stream'Paws, her sky-blue eyes gazing back over to the other apprentice.

"I'm glad to hear that, Spider'Paw!
Anyway, we should start to head back,"

Stream'Paw pointed out, their tail flicking up to the sky; The sun was already sinking away, which set a beautiful golden light among the rivers that made it look as if they were full of fireflies, like the ones that populated Firefly Cove. The silver and black-patched tabby slowed to a halt at the camp entrance, smiling. He almost wished he could stay here, just talking to Spider'Paw, but as his eyes drooped, the RiverClan apprentice longed to be back in his nest, in the apprentice den.

"It was really nice hunting with you today,
Even if your mouse ended up a little... Mangled, at the very least,,"

Stream'Paw let out a small chuckled, taking a seat as she waited for Spider'Paws next words. }

As Spiderpaw made himself comfortable in his nest, he occasionally smiled and nodded as Streampaw spoke. He still stuck in his own head, and just barely caught what the apprentice next to him. He is definitely going to remember this... that's so embarrassing for me, what if she tells other cats? What if other cats start thinking I'm dumb and not capable of catching a simple mouse? Spiderpaw quickly snapped his head away from Streampaw as a frustrated expression went over his face. His tail twitched for a moment, before he laid down and brought himself into a loaf position. It's fine... it'll be fine... Before he lowered his head to try and get some rest, he turned and smiled warmly at Streampaw. I'll at least give them a good last impression.

" It was nice hunting with you as well. I really enjoyed getting out of camp, even after such a bad rainfall. "

{ Stream'Paw nodded in agreement before beginning to pad forward again, heaving a sigh as he stepped forward; Right, left, right, left- their stormy-blue eyes burnt into the pattern as they walked, their tail occasionally twitching with energy that wanted to send her flying to.. what, where was far from here... Stream'Paw had no idea, was their anything outside of the clan territories? There had to be, could it truly just be them? -Left, right, left, lef-right- Stream'Paws walking almost faltered, their mind in almost a different world, but the silver tabby quickly gazed upwards and beamed at Spider'Paw.

"Well, cya later, Spider'Paw!"

Stream'Paw said cheerfully as they got into camp, starting towards the apprentice den. His mind lingered towards what could be out their, but that didn't matter right now. Plus, if any one should know, it would be leaders and their deputies, - and medicine cats! They're important, too - not just some young apprentice. Stream'Paw shook her head, coming to a stop before turning his head back to smile at Spider'Paw and twitch her back-patched tail in goodbye. }
