Wow, that was interesting. They tilted their head to listen to Spiderpaw as she spoke. It really impressed him, that she'd been able to swim in the sea at all. And all the stuff about the undertow seemed super complicated. Seemed like he still had lots to learn. "That's really interesting," they responded, still playing with their pebble, which they'd now managed to flip onto the top of their paw. He was trying to see how well he could balance it. Still listening as best he could, just a little lost in the game he'd created. "I'd never had thought there was a current that you can't even hear, never mind see." They shook their head, honestly just a little astonished by the concept. Now they were glad they'd listened, when warriors had told them it's dangerous in the sea; it'd always looked like a fun place to them.
Then the rapids. Hm. It did seem fun, and like Spiderpaw said, a great way to learn. Just a pity it seemed so impossible. "I wish it was possible," he sighed calmly. They could imagine just how fun it could be, letting the rapids carry them, whilst knowing they're safe. If only.

Spiderpaw thought about it for a minute. Maybe it would be nice to have "safe" rapids. The amount of benefit could outweigh the dangers. She put her chin on her paws as she thought, watching Seapaw balance the pebble on his paw. Maybe they could build a course just about learning to get out of rapids and strong currents. She couldn't imagine how sore her paws would be from digging that much.
"Maybe we just don't know a good way?" She offered. There were older, more experienced warriors and lionhearts in the clan, after all. That wasn't even including Owlstar and Sunheart. Spiderpaw lifted her head and tilted it thoughtfully. "I wonder if it's worth the risk of making something like it. Maybe a channel could be cut out, but we use sticks or something that keeps cats out of the channel when we finally break into the river?" She offered. "I don't know... but it'd make for a really good advanced swimming lesson."
Perhaps she was wrong. Spiderpaw narrowed her eyes as she stared at Seapaw's pebble. Who would they even ask, if they did bring it up to anyone else at all?

Hm, maybe Spiderpaw was coming around to the idea! He nodded at her suggestion, imagining just how good it could be. "That idea about the sticks is smart. I think something like that could work." If there were a way to prepare cats for dangerous waters, without putting them in any real danger, it'd prevent so many potential accidents. And that by itself was pretty good. Of course, a lot of Seapaw's motivation came from the desire to swim in the rapids for once. It just seemed so fun, if only there wasn't the probability of being flung into a random rock or riverbed. It certainly would be a good advanced swimming lesson. "Hmm, it would." They yawned, their pebble slipping off their paw as they flopped onto their side. Maybe they should start collecting pebbles. They reminded them of the rivers, you often found them dotted about near the shores. Perhaps they could get a collection going, by their nest, so they could reminisce about the water - not that they didn't already, but it'd help them do it more! What other kind of fun could they have, whilst stuck in camp all day? They'd definitely hang onto this pebble. It was pretty.
