Crowbreeze flicked his tail and took his pebbles. His eyes narrowed and his mind’s gears began twisting and turning, squeaking their silent tune. Maybe cloud… he liked the look of that one. Pffft what if he better on all of them. He tried to suppress a squeak of laughter—and failed. His snicker echoed out for all to hear. He grimaced. That was awkward.

”Uh… 3 on cloud and…Um…4 on f-f-feather.” he squeezed his eyes shut. Had he really stammered? Crow had grown out of that, Kate into his apprenticeship! Damn. This was not his day. He separated his pebbles and nudged the seven Little Rocks away from him.

Sneezekit grinned excitedly, bouncing up and down on their paws. They liked this game already. They didn’t have to be the Strongest or the Smartest or the Fastest to win. They just needed to be the Luckiest. Anyone could be Lucky (okay, well, maybe anyone could be Unlucky, too, but, y’know. Details.)

Sneezekit’s first instinct was to bet all their pebbles on a den they liked, but then they thought that if the mouse didn’t like that den, that would be really Unlucky. After listening to their Clanmates’ bets, they made their own.

“I’ll dooooo... Four pebbles for cloud and three pebbles for pinecone.” They bet on the den they liked and the den (they decided) the mouse liked. With a foolproof strategy like that, Sneezekit would most definitely win!

Lightningpaw would think about the dens he wanted to bet on Lightningpaw would bring his tail to his chin as he tried to figure it out. Lightningpaw would then decide. "1 on Pinecone, and 1 on feather." Lightningpaw would say.

HeavyKit scooped up 3 of her pebbles into her mouth. She spit 1 out at the Cloud 'den' and the other 2 out at the Shell 'Den'

Silverfur would huff, "just trying to make it more entertaining" she would flick her tail and tut "I wouldn't destroy the clan in one day, just be sending out many more hunting patrols then border ones" she would reply. She would begin to groom her fur while she waited.

"Well when you open the betting, you know I want to put all my pebbles on cloud" she would reply to him.

Vinepaw saw some of the cats choosing pinecone and she’ll he decided to go two on shell two on cloud and one one pinecone

I’ll bet 3 on pinecone the elder said as he turned towards crowtooth he flicked his tail over at stone tail and said he’ll bet on cloud four and bet four on feather stonetail nodded at the elders words hopefully this play of luck would work

✥ Laurelkit’s verdant and oceanic hues remained on Crowtooth as he momentarily addressed her… was she serious?… to anyone outside of battle scared tom it really wouldn’t appear as such as she was just sitting there wagging along to to the superior thoughts in her head…not that she thought she was better than anyone… albeit she simply was, but that was besides the point. Digging a small hole with her creamy mitten paw the painted calico deposited the pretty, round pebbles in replacement of the earth which she had smoothed out so that it wasn’t a pile and more so a dusting of lose soil on top of the hard clearing ground that had been packed by ages of well trod pawsteps, the plebeians could watch their steps or trip… oh well… she would of course tell them in her chipper and lilting tones now if they drew too near her little bountiful throve as Laurelkit was of course the most amicable of Imperatrixs but once this little folly was over she wasn’t going to stay around just to tell clumsy warrior to watch their paws… anywho… [I]what was she doing again…[I] right, good old gambling. Grabbing two of her pretty stones Windclan’s laurel crowned victor moved with as much elegance as the two moon old kit could have and padded on creamy, marbled paws to drop her stones bet on the feather, she was antsy and nervous about this… second guessing… what was a victor if they were not victorious, a shudder rippled down her tricoloured spine as she returned to her cozy spot and waited in bitter, antagonising anticipation.

The mouse, dropped into the shallow pit and suddenly faced with a group of cats hanging off its every movement froze, nose twitching before it made to dark off into the Cloud burrow. At the last second, perhaps disturbed by someones gasp, it altered course darting into the pinecone den and earning a cheer from Crowtooth.


"Well congrats we got a large batch of winners this round!!

Leopardpaw ya get 6 pebbles back! However ya also bet 6 so kinda broke even there heh!
Sneezekit ya win 6 pebbles back! Ya bet 7 so thats a loss o' one, not as bad as it could be.
Lightnin'paw another cat who broke even, ya get two back after bettin' one on the winnin' den an' one on the loosin'.
Vinepaw ya won 2 shells but net lost 1.
Duckthroat though ya lucky sod ya win 6 free an' clear a gain o' 3 pebbles, our current highest scorer!

We'll be doin' two more rounds o' this casual method before I spice thin's up with the ability ta place 'steal' bets wit' another cat or 'bait' bets, but Ill explain that later. So get yer bets in for round 2!"

The tom collected the pebbles lost, adding them to his huge stockpile and grabbed the mouse, ready for the next round.
