Jovie couldn't really tell what was happening. She stared straight forward with wide eyes, slumped in her seat.

Other people were getting out of their cars and screaming and running away as the creature blew up cars with it's fire skulls, and even worse, purple-black tentacles were grabbing cars and people and knocking things over.

Ok, the pain in her leg was catching up to her. She had to bite her tongue to keep from screaming profanity. Jovie clutched the handle of the car door when Samantha took her injured arm, and gritted her teeth - forgetting her tongue was already between them - and noticed a familiar, metallic taste; blood. Jovie stared out the window when the car began to float, and honestly, at this point, she was ready to die.

Alas, these two were not. They dragged her out of the car, which sent a shooting pain up her leg, but she didn't have the energy to protest.

Uhg, she felt gross. And her leg hurt. So did her arm. What happened? Her memory was kinda fuzzy. There was a sore spot on her tongue - had she bit it earlier? Huh. Wait, was she blind? No, her eyes were closed. She tried a bit harder to remember.

Purple light... dark sky... big blob with eyes... broken limbs (ouch)... weird people... cars... oh yeah. She remembered.

Jovie's eyes flew open, and she sat bolt upright - which was a bad idea, as her vision began to swim with colors and dots - and took in her surroundings.

Jovie was sitting in a bed, her arm and leg wrapped up tightly like a cast but wasn't a cast. The nightstand by the bed has a glass of water on it, the lights were turned off, but a lamp was on.

Samantha was lying on the floor on the rug in the middle of the room, sleeping.

A cat was sitting at the end of Jovie's bed, watching with it's large green eyes, tail moving slowly, the cat almost invisible if it weren't for the lamp making it's black fur noticable.
