She looked at the rose too see if it was true. It looked like there was a couple. Though she turned quite concerned when he started pawing at it. "Hey! If it has thorns why are you poking at it?!?"

he pulled his paw away and looked at checkers with a strangely calm expression, "Dunno? Curious." he replied, going back to looking at it.

Checkers sighed. This tom is acting like a careless kit, she thought, still confused on why he would do this. She waited a moment before forming another response. "So in being curious, you would hurt yourself? Like you've never gotten a thorn in you're paw?" She questioned, recalling all the painful times she's gotten paws stuck in her paws.

"Wow..." Checkers whispered, honestly surprised from the toms words. Maybe he wasn't as mouse-brained as she thought ... well he still was, but his words weren't? Whatever level of smart or mouse-brained he was she'd figure out later.
"Hey wait - are you trying to imply something there with that, 'no matter how bad we really look'?" She was just joking around, but hoped he got it and didn't get defensive or whatever. Mostly she was hoping she wasn't taking about her ... that'd be embarrassing.
