That was what ran through the fox's mind as she raced through the forest, trying to find a place to rest. Everywhere she looked there were humans. The large buildings close by and the ones dotted around scared her. What were they doing to her beloved forest?! Why???
The fox shook her head and continues running. The pups inside her were moving a lot. She could feel them. 'It must be close. I need to find somewhere to rest.' She ran on, before finally stopping at a small hole under a fallen tree. Here, she lay, breathing, exhausted... |

CeeCee smiled and gently stroked the mama fox on the head, then gave it the remaining berries. She grabbed her basket, looked at the silver fox, wondering if it would follow her, then walked slowly out of the forest, toward the animal sanctuary she and her parents ran together.
"You'll be safe there, and we'll help you when your babies come," I tell the mama fox, wincing with pain from the scratches of the silver fox.
"Ow, ow, ow.." she cried softly walking homeward.
CeeCee, bleeding from the scratches, held the red fox in her arms, saying to the silver fox, "I didn't hurt you. Why hurt me?"

CeeCee was hurt by the look and words of the silver fox, vowing to come back and help it sometime soon.
But CeeCee was confused. Is the fox having babies? She thought worriedly, picking up the pace, often saying "ow, ow!" from the silver fox's harsh scratches.
