The tiny kit, only about a moon old, jumped from his hiding place around some bushes as it began to swarm with rats. “Daddy! Help!” he mewled, he had left their little area to follow dad but he wasn’t sure if he were allowed to do he had snuck out, now there were like a bajillion rats and he had no idea how to deal with them. “Help! Help!” he felt a rat bite the edge of his tail, his tail was small as it is! He didn’t need to be losing any more of it! “Shoo! Shoo you stinky- stinky- uh- rat! Stinky rat! Go away!”

Fear cursed through his body as he quickly changed direction. Moondrop could fight a few rats, but Goose? absolutely not. He snatched the kit by its scruff. "Goose! Why did you follow me?!" He muffered through the scruff, leaping onto a thin fence nearby and glaring down at the rats swarming below.

Goose dangled from his fathers jaws, the feeling of being held by his scruff forcing him to go limp. “Daddy!” the young kit giggled. “I wanted to see where you went and it’s so boring back home! ” he mewed, not really registering that the top of his tail was bleeding. Wow they were up high on this fence. “The rats are stinky and- and mean!” he blew a raspberry in the direction of the stinky creatures.

Goose rolled his eyes. “Yeah yeah, but I wanted to be with daddy!” he mewed, shaking his little legs in the start of a pout. He liked seeing his dad fights the rats, it was absolutely thrilling! “Yeah! Kick the stinky rats away! Show them who’s boss!” he cheered

She hid her injured face underneath her paws. She was supposed to be a good mother. She was supposed to protect her kits... and now she failed. What if the same thing that happened to Lightkit happens to one of my kits? The horrid thought came back into her head, and she let out a wail.

Flame loved his city. But something was wrong. Rats! Were everywhere! He hissed, standing on top of a fence post, his ash-black fur standing up, his flame blue eyes tiny slits. "Back!" He hissed as the rats started climbing up the fence post. Flame swatted them with his unsheathed paws, trying to stop them. "Back! Back you little devils!"
