Sootpaw flinched a little when Stealthpaw ran up to her, but wasn't completely fazed. Taking this as an oppurtunity, she swiped at Stealthpaw, although her claws were sheathed because she didn't want to hurt her friend. The tiny apprentice's hazel eyes were fixed on Stealthpaw now, soaking in every movement so she might be able to guess the next move the other apprentice would make.
(can it be a tie?)

Hmm, first time that hadn't worked, trying to duck around Sootpaws' paw (but failing, the paw grazed her shoulder), she slithered over to one side of her friend and attempted to jump onto/into Sootpaw to knock her over.

Sootpaw let out a small 'oof' as she felt the impact of Stealthpaw jumping on her, and fell down before attempting to roll on Stealthpaw. She couldn't tell who was going to win yet, but she sure did hope it was her.

No way was Sootpaw gonna win this, Stealthpaw carefully tried to pin down Sootpaw so she could draw her (sheathed!) paw down her friends' belly to get a win.

Falling back, Stealthpaw let out a small growl, deciding to play it safe she fell back into defesive mode, and waited to see what Sootpaw would do. @ Yellow Caballero
(This is getting intence. IDEA, maybe they start fighting, fighting[Claws, slipping out, acidentle eye pokes, etc, etc] and the mentor has to break them both up?)

(well then maybe they'd be called too immature to be warriors in lionstar's mind. Maybe they get into a big tussle and then just fall on the ground exhausted?)Sotpaw growled back, before trying to jump on Stealthpaw again, eyes gleaming with determination.

"Not so easy at long range is it!" Stealthpaw hissed at her training partner as she doged the leap. She tried to get in another hit and jumped at Sootpaw's body midflight. @ Yellow Caballero

(maybe we should do the tussle thing just so then we dont bother bill and can get this done quickly.)Sootpaw was forced to the floor, although stood up quickly and attempted to roll on Stealthpaw, although even if she did it probably wouldn't be very effective because she was tiii-ny.

Stealthpaw "Oofed!" when she felt Sootpaw trying to throw her off and fell backward. Before she could get up, she saw Sootpawtrying to roll onto her and rolled out of the way.
It took her a little longer to get up, but she didn't notice, she was focused on trying to ram Sootpaws' shoulder with her head. @ Yellow Caballero
(Okay, heres the start of said tussle! Mention Leopardblaze once we've both fallen?)
