Fernpaw gave a low growl in annoyance, he didn't need
her help, he was just a little tired... Just give me a
poppy seed or somethi- his mewed was cut short
as he collapsed on to the ground with a painful grunt.
What was this pain?! His battle with the Riverclan warrior
hadn't gone on for long... so why was this happening...?!

Nightpaw blinked, slowly coming back to wakefulness. She picked her head, not sure where she was. She remembered the fight at the Cove and finding Blueberrykit. That had seemed to have taken the last of her energy. She must have passed out in the medicine den. Her wounds still hurt, but the biting edge had been taken out of them.

Nightpaw noticed the cobwebs on her flank and shifted, spotting Icicleripple. "Thanks," she murmured. "I must be a burden." She could leave whenever the medicine cat wanted her too.

Cinderkit leaned in towards Icicleripple's touch, squeezing her eyes shut as the medicine cat poked at her wound. Why did this all have to hurt so much?! Even if the other molly's words soothed her racing thoughts a bit, it still didn't snuff out the feeling of fire lacing around her nerves.

Cracking a chartreuse eye open, the kit wimpered out a few words. "I-I-I... was s-so busy get-g-getting b-bea-beat up, t-tha-t I d-didn't e-e-even notice t-that... W-Wh... Whi...!" Her shaking voice soon devolved into a mess of sobs. Why was she so weak? Now she had a big giant scratch on her face and snot coming all out of her nose and no more Whitewolf. It took nearly all her strength to avoid crumbling into a distraught, humiliated mess.
