Yellow eyes regard Thornpaw expectantly. She would probably come up with something reasonable! Definitely! Because Ruepaw was filled with energy, unbound by any law of the world known to cat (currently). And his untethered whimsy felt slightly more balanced when it came to her quiet, cautious ardor.
But they are jumpscared!
The fur along his spine spikes in alarm as he whips around to look at... His brother! "Lilypaw," the calico gasps. "Catch us doing nothing at all," he lies blatantly, knowing there was no way that Lilypaw wouldn't immediately pick up on it.
He had to give Thornpaw credit, though. He smirks at the noise she'd made and flicks his tail at hers. "Yeah, night hunting with my new best friend. Care to join us, Lilypaw?" Bright yellow eyes gaze expectantly at his littermate now, willing the other young tom to say yes. After all, they were stuck together, StarClan willing. Lilypaw had to say yes. Ruepaw would have to say yes to anything his brother wanted, too.
That's just how it worked.

Mudpaw's fur fluffed out so that he looked like a silly pom-pom. "Nobody! I-i don't have a crush!" If cats could blush, Mudpaw would be doing so right about now. Luckily they didn't.
