Littleshock stayed quiet as the patrol sniffed around Sedgewater valley. Seemed Riverclan was staying put in their smelly territory - and for that the tiny warrior was grateful. She would rather fight when it was warmer; less slippery. Then maybe she could actually enjoy a battle.

Fadingsun moved along the border, leaving the occasional scent marker as he went. WindClan's markers were somewhat stale, which was both amusing and odd. They sure liked pretending they were mighty, but when it came down to the simple tasks they slacked. Hmph.
He glanced behind him at Pristinepaw as he prepared to leave his final scent marker, both to make sure she hadn't gotten stuck in the snow again and to give her a lesson. "A border patrol's main job is to do this, leave scent markers. We also check for any intruders or odd occurrences, obviously. Make sure you scent the air real good, and commit to memory what WindClan smell like."
After finishing with the border markers on his end, Fadingsun made his way back towards where they'd started. As he approached, he saw Dusklion reaching out to poke at some strange object with a claw. Curiosity lit a fire under him, and he found himself speeding over towards her...
( I figure since the scent markers have been left + the border checked we can consider this patrol finished, and just continue on with the balloon stuff at our leisure? )

Dusklion
She/her | 25 moons | RiverClan Warrior
[ Shadow Fiend • Go with the Flow • Beefed Up T3 ]
Too enthralled by the strange object before her to really take notice of Fades and the 'paw returning, Dusklion's eyes widened as her claw finally reached it. There was a small beat, and then a loud 'POP!' that startled her backwards. Out of the balloon came this odd sparkling stuff that immediately coated Dusk in an array of different colors. Blues, purples, pinks, reds, greens. A kaleidoscope of rainbow as she fluffed out her fur, making her appear the size of an average cat. "WHAT IS THIS STUFF???" she yelped as she worked to paw the stuff off her face. It seemed to stick to everything, and now when she pressed her paw back against the frosted ground it left a little sparkly paw print.
aaaaaaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA. Pristinepaw didn't know what she was internally yelling about, but Dusklion was now covered in..! In... Uhhh... Pristinepaw had no idea. "Aaaaah!" She squeaked finally, because Dusklion was covered in scream-worthy stuff apparently. Peeking out from behind Fades at Dusklion with eyes two equally round saucers, Pristinepaw flicked her gaze between the siblings. "What is it? Part of the patrol?"
Mistypaw made her way to the WindClan border alongside Fadingsun and Moonfawn. She kept her ears pricked for any dangers while she began to mark the border.

Re: Sedgewater Valley
Moonfawn
Moonfawn copies Mistypaw, setting border marks after surveying the area. Everything seems pretty quiet, though you can never be too sure, just like how no cat could've predicted the raid. So she should be alert, this is a border patrol after all.
The patrol had been quiet thus far, although Fadingsun still remained on alert. WindClan had been the quietest out of all of the Clans recently, but who knew when that would change. He moved along his section of the border, leaving scent markers as he went.
( Are you guys open to doing the optional prompt? )

As the three of them made good progress with their border marking, Mistypaw joined her patrolmates a bit further away from the border again and was about to say they could probably head back now. However, suddenly the ground beneath her paws gave away and she let out a yowl as she collapsed into some kind of tunnel. “Um-” she mewed “Don’t think this is normal?” The silver tabby was covered in dirt and her legs were sore from the fall. What was this, some kind of tunneling network of RiverClan? As far as she knew only WindClan had tunnels. They were pretty close to the border though. She tried to leap out of the tunnel but there was too much space between her and the ground she wanted to jump on, so she just jumped against the wall to no avail. A little frown appeaed on Mistpaw’s maw and she stared at the warriors, trying to figure out through the dust that was covering her eyesight if they’d also collapsed into the tunnel with her.
