Braith looked down towards the ground. "I saw him and he looked off guard." He explained. "He was open and I tried to take the chance, I almost had him too but...I let my guard down." He said knowing that his excuse didn't change the fact that he was out of position, but still, he had injured him enough for Ketsueki to easily finish him off. He sighed. "Can I at least get up and walk? I feel stiff and sore. I would at least like to stretch."

Ketsueki shook his head. “Not until we get a healer to properly inform us what you can and cannot do.” He said before walking out briefly to order a nearby healthy guard to get a healer. Soon after he came back inside. Though he seemed harsh, not offering any food or water- the wolf just didn’t want to accidentally hurt Braith more than he already was. Not after the scare from earlier and the constant threat of him possibly dying if he so much as moved the wrong way.

“Regardless, I appreciate your incentive to help our pack...it was brave, but foolish. Dont do it again.” He warned with a harsh tone though it came from good intent. “If a wolf such as you would have died the battle could have very well been taken as a loose rather than a win.”

Braith let out a sigh. It was an annoyed, but an understanding sigh. "I understand Ketsueki." He said laid there waiting patiently.

A few minutes later, a healer wolf came in and looked at Braith and Ketsueki. "Ah Braith you are awake." He said with a sigh of relief. "Taka has told me to inform you of your injuries." After explaining everything that had happened, both internally and externally, he looked back to Ketsueki. "He told me to tell you that he is free to leave whenever he feels. However, he is not allowed to do anything that could raise his heartbeat. Anything fast pace that could cause him to start breathing heavy, is off limits as it risks tearing the lungs before full recovery. And he must get plenty of food and water in his system to regain a little of what he's lost."
He finished. He looked back to Braith. "Taka also said he will be stopping by every once in a while to check on you. If he feels like you arent giving honest answers, then he can't help you." He dipped his head at both of them. "That is all on the report for you, Lord Braith."

Ketsueki listened intently to what the healer had to say. Once he was finished he nodded to the wolf and dismissed him before ordering some guard wolves to fetch some food and water for Braith. “Well, you heard what they said. That means you will be out of commission for some time. I’ll have guards inform Matasi that he and I will split your duties for however long the healers say you need to recover.” Ketsueki yawned, knowing that Braith will reject his statement.

“It is an order to do whatever the healers say is best for you. And disobeying an order is a punishable act.” He looked at the wolf with narrowed eyes. “I also advise you to get yourself a wolf you can trust to do your chores and be able to go and run to deliver messages or get things for you...since our selection of worker wolves is very....limited.” Ketsueki sighed, still not wanting to leave anytime soon so he decided to comfortably lay back down once again, waiting for Braith to eat and respond.

After a long time of sorting things out, Matasi was finally free to go and get Celestia. Since both the King and Braith were not present- he temporarily took all of their responsibilities...that was, of course, until Ketsueki returned. Maradi was informed that the two would split it evenly...but Ketsueki would take more responsibility than Matasi, naturally. The grey wolf sighed as he got the rest of his wounds sealed and fixed. The grey and black wolf had two deep gashes down his right side and another gash across and down his muzzle. Other than that he had minor injuries and as long as he didn’t run or do any extreme activity he was free to go.

So, the long walk towards the shelter was a painful one. All he wanted to do was run to her, but he had to take his time while slowly walking. It was agony. But eventually he was able to get to the shelter. There were significantly less she wolves in there than before but a good amount of them were still in there. Whether their mates haven’t gotten them, were too wounded to get them- or died. After all, there might have been only a few deaths with the main army but over twenty died when they were scattered apart and trying to get back to the army.

...Or they could just be single she wolves waiting to be escorted back to their normal place. Who knew? Once he arrived he was obviously allowed to skip to the the front of the line- and he waited rather impatiently as the guards that were stationed at the shelter went to go get his mate. Matasi’s eyes grew soft as he saw her approaching, and went to go greet her.

Braith kept his mouth shut as he listened to Ketsueki. He obviously wanted to protest, but held his tongue for the time being. "I can still walk around he said." He tried to protest weakly. "Almost none of my responsibilities require me to do any of those things that he said I shouldn't do. I can still do them, maybe not as efficiently as I want to, but I can slow down and still do them. " Braith was trying to make an argument, but he already sounded defeated. Really he just didn't want Ketsueki to be burdened with extra work so he could relax. It was his job to do all the dirty work so Ketsueki could have more free time and not stress out so much. But he had very little fight in him now. Braith was stubborn, but Ketsueki was more stubborn and he knew that. "I understand it's an order to listen to them." He huffed in defeat. Though he did keep his mind open for a wolf tha the should trust. He could still do things himself. He wasn't fully inactive, just slightly injured that's all.


Celestia was sitting against the far wall away from all the other she-wolves that some looked just as nervous, if not more than her just waiting to see their mate come and pick them up. She looked down at her belly and teared up. "Dont worry. You'll get to see your father." She promised with a low whisper. A guard wolf that called her name startled her. She sat up and was told to follow. Hesitantly, she got up and started to follow him back to the entrance. That's when she saw Matasi, and she started to pick up her pace to meet him. "Matasi...." She said burying her face in his fur for a few seconds, drinking in all of his scent. "Oh..I was so worried. She said as she began sniffing around, seeing all of the wounds and cuts. "Are you ok? We should go see a healer as soon as possible right." She said, clearly worried about the scars

Only moving and stretching when told to do so my healers. I want you back up on your paws as soon as possible- but I still want you to have a good amount of time to recover.” He paused. “You never slowed down- so take this as the universe giving you a chance.” It sounded as if he half believed what he was saying- but still found it funny to humor the idea.

Matasi was just happy to see her once again, and held her closely before letting her go. The he wolf couldn’t help but chuckle as she mentioned his wounds. “Dont worry, I just got them checked out. They aren’t that bad. Just a bit of stinging.” He reassured her. “And I told you, I’d come back to get you. I wasn’t going to loose if it was for you I was fighting for.” He paused. “You and them.” He gestured to the pups before flicking his tail for her to follow- already heading home.

He knew sooner or later he would have to leave but he decided he would push that moment as far as he could. “Let’s hope you stick to that promise, hm?” Ketsueki decided that he was going to push the fact that Braith was severely wounded to the back of his head. If he just focused on it he would end up killing that wolf before the scheduled execution.

Once they arrived back to their den, Matasi was obviously starving. As per request, any guard wolf available were now delivering food to the dens of those who had been in the war. So once they arrived, some fresh moss that held water and some food was waiting for them. Matasi didn’t know he was starving until he practically devoured the prey in the span of a few seconds. Once he was almost done he pushed the other piece of prey towards Celestia. “My apologies.” He chuckled. “I was quite hungry.” The black and grey wolf yawned, laying his head on his paws as he watched her eat as well. It was a struggle to keep his eyes awake.

Matasi smiled warmly to her. “And I’m glad I’m here with you. Sadly I won’t be able to be here for majority of tomorrow...I have more duties due to some issues regarding the battle. If you need anything- don’t be afraid to ask for someone. If you even want there will be a small gathering of she wolves nearby on the rocks. Not many people are there compared to the usual amount but you can get in if you want to.”

Merayu and Ibuki were on the border of their lands talking in hushed voices, nothing too secretive however as they were talking about post battle things. The future for their pack was looking live and the two were even laughinh about a few things as they congratulated their fighters as they all ate a well deserved meals one big group, something that was only done occasionally. "One step closer." Merayu said lastly before taking a bite into her prey.

Celestia leaned next to him. "You know, that sounds like a good idea Matasi." She said with a smile as she felt his warm fur on hers. "Just don't overwork yourself. I really want you to stay fresh and not exhausted at the end of the day while I was relaxing." She looked to him. "Promise me you won't overwork yourself."
