Why did it seem that most of their time spent going out of camp was mainly for patrols? Was this some sort of plan to keep them confined to a camp full of idiots? Surely not, they had to find some sort of reason besides patrol or training for someone to take her out of this confinement in some way or another. On the bright side, at least they were going to be going out with family again. Another weird thing for them to notice, most of the patrols they got sent on were with a littermate of theirs. Now this one was entirely made up of family, no possible no-name clanmate that they didn't bother to remember their name. No plans to interact with them so no plans to burn their name into their memory. Now they felt giddy about going on a patrol with their ma and their favorite sibling and also their oldest standing sibling. Despite not being able to see they sure could scent another one of their siblings close by, namely close to ma. Wait, were they hunting for this patrol? Hopefully, they don't embarrass themselves like last time, maybe they should have just let that squirrel go instead of the stunt they pulled.

A little distracted by what seemed like the entire ark family gathering (wow Mistlewhisker must really want all of them out of the camp today for some reason) Bleedingpaw didnt respond to Pondpaw for a good long moment. Though he did flinch from her trying to touch his ear, the pretty bengal swaying away from the motion.



No he was too busy arching into Lostsparks contact and butting a head against Sleepysunrise affectionately. "Ill have fun AND be safe, just you see! And next time all of us can go on patrols together!" Maybe not Moonpaw though, Bleedingpaw was happy to not be with him even if it meant missing out on being with Sleepysunrise. Cinderpaw was cool though so she got a grin. "Ohhh Mama! Maybe we could go out all of us together and get a special Mama lesson! Miss Dawnstar said I should ask you for training because you know a lot so if I wanna be strong like you one day I should learn from you!" Well the leader didnt say that verbatim but close enough.



Bleedingpaw had heard the stories and wanted to learn how to swim and do herb stuff and fight like Lostspark so he could be a 'diverse warrior' like Mr Pats said so he would.

It'd only be once his family departed did Bleedingpaw refocus on Pondpaw, seemingly only now remembering the other apprentice was there.
"Oh! Sorry I got distracted by my family there. Ummmm my trainings going good! Everyone says Im doing better then they expected me to do with my disability so Im happy. This is my first not herb patrol though so Im a bit nervous."
Hopefully the other patrol members would arrive soon and all would be well though.

Gutspaw was about to nod off while leaned against a tree while sitting until Mistlewhisker's voice awoke it. Its eyes slowly fluttered open, blinking similarly to a frog. A patrol. Yay. (sarcasm) Usually a good thing, but the apprentice hadn't been ,, able to sleep much these days. or eat. or breathe.

Goopywhisker plagued teeth's mind like a toothache. Still, the tabby rose to its paws and approached its patrolmates. Seems like it was the third one there. "Yo-yo, " Gutspaw greeted casually, attempting to somewhat keep up with appearances despite growing dark circles under bite's eyes. (well, worsening. they weren't exactly new.)

The warrior would look down at the small apprentice and purr. "Indeed I am, nice to meet you Firepaw." Spotting Gutspaw making his way over, Tufted would stretch and rise to his paws. Owlthroat wasnt coming, so he needed a replacement for his mate. Scanning the clearing, his eyes lighted on one cat in particular.

"Flytail!" The enforcer barked to the tom, eyes narrowing and tail flicking. "Owlthroat can't make the patrol. So your coming instead."

The excitement Moonpaw felt for going on his first patrol in almost 2 moons was almost immediately replaced with hatred the second he stepped foot in the patrol place. He'd heard more than a pawful of his siblings names being called - Mama's name included - but along with them came that thing. That thing who was going on a patrol with his Mama.

All he could do was watch as she bent down and offered it a loving touch, even suggesting that they be paired up together for the next patrol. She didn't do that to Moonpaw. Not since he was barely able to squeak his name and could only wiggle to travel. In fact, she hadn't welcomed him home with the same love she showed that thing now. All her favorite child had gotten was the cold shoulder... so why was she brushing so lovingly against the leech's shoulder?!

Amber eyes trained on the blonde leech with clear hatred. What does he have that I don't? Why does she love him so much???? Why??? Why didn't he just die when he was supposed to??? Memories of Bleeding and Moon's... field trip swirled around with the self-loathing in his mind. Why didn't he just finish the job back then?? It would have saved everyone so much trouble. Moonpaw would be loved again. He wouldn't be lost in the background of his many real siblings.

Speaking of which... Narrowed gaze turned to Quietpaw. The traitor who had tried to rat him out to Greemaw. He hated Quietpaw. Don't think I've forgotten about your betrayal, Sister. Cinder, Bird, and Wispy were all annoying to him too; but they had never tried to get him cast out of Shadowclan.

The apprentice finally turned to Sleepysunrise. A half sibling he was pretty neutral on. She was nice. Taught him things, but... He followed her gaze, realizing it was resting on Mama and the Leech. His fur bristled. Why did everyone love that thing??? Sleepysunrise is stupid. Desperate. If she doesn't wise up, that thing is gonna be the end of her.

"Let's go." He grumbled, turning his back to Mama and her parasite. If he watched any longer he might scream.

PATROLS! HOORAY! Birdpaw shot up when she heard Mistlewhisker call the clan, shaking out her damp fur--she had been sitting in the rain for a little bit, just because she could--and listening for her name.

"MAMAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!" Birdpaw shrieked as she heard her name called with Mama, Cinderpaw and Wispypaw. Birdpaw shot towards her mother like a shooting star, barreling into Lostspark's side and purring like a twoleg's monster. "Mama! Hi Mama!"

Mama's words to Bleedingpaw had Birdpaw's heart twisting a little. She was already planning to ask to be put on a patrol with Bleedingpaw? What about the patrol now? Had she already dismissed this patrol in favor of the next? Did she not want to be on a patrol with Birdpaw?

Now feeling queasy, Birdpaw separated herself from Mama and padded over to her sisters, giving Cinderpaw and Wispypaw both licks over their ears--which was difficult, as Birdpaw was easily the second smallest of the kits after Sleepysunrise--and waiting for the patrol to leave. "Hi hi~!" She couldn't wait to go hunt!!

Hillstrider stretched languidly as he exited the warrior's den, looking up at the cloudy sky and smiling. The rains had been consistent recently, but it seemed to have lessened this morning. Hillstrider liked the rain just as much as sunshine--okay, nothing could beat sunshine--but he was looking forward to the next time he could sun himself on a rock!

Mistlewhisker called for patrols, and Hillstrider trilled with interest. His name was called to participate in a patrol lead by Midnightpath. Oh, Hazelstripe's former apprentice, if he remembered correctly! Hillstrider padded over to the gathered apprentices who were also on the patrol, giving Pondpaw and Bleedingpaw a friendly grin. "Yo what's up my little dudes? We stoked for a patrol or what?"

Midnightpath had been called to lead a hunting patrol–which would be nice, she hadn’t been getting out much lately. (Because Mari was far too busy, oops). A couple of apprentices an another warrior–surely this would go nicely, as long as the paws knew how to hunt. If not, surely they’d be able to teach them, no worries there.

Bleedingpaw, Pondpaw and Hillstrider had already arrived, meaning that she was the last to appear. “Apologies for appearing last, I hope you’re all prepared to do some hunting today! If you have no experience thus far, that’s no problem, Hillstrider and I will happily teach you the basics.”

With a flick of her tail and a simple nod of her head towards the camp’s exit, she began to lead them out into Shadowclan’s territory to their destination.

Flytail pushed himself up with a noticeable sigh, masking his frustration as he approached Tuftedtusk. His thoughts were troubled, not just by the extra work but also by his brother’s situation.

Owlthroat’s hurt, and I’m stuck with this patrol. Can’t say I’m thrilled about it, but at least he’s okay. He plastered on a wry smile as he spoke.

“Well, well, look who’s commandeering me for a patrol,” Flytail said, his tone light but edged with slyness. “I suppose I’ll have to put my own plans on hold to cover for dear old Owlthroat.”

He joined Tuftedtusk, his mind a swirl of mixed feelings. I hope he’s healing up alright. Just my luck to be the one to deal with this while he’s laid up..With a final flick of his tail, Flytail followed Tuftedtusk out of the camp, his thoughts lingering on his injured brother even as he kept up a facade of casual nonchalance.
